The National Library

The National Library of Kosovo is the highest library institution in Kosovo established by the Parliament and is located in Pristina. The mission of the Library is to collect, preserve, promote and make accessible Kosovo's documentary and intellectual heritage. It hosts exhibitions and has archives of national newspapers. Made of zenith windows, it features 99 domes of varying sizes and is completely covered in metal fishing nets, giving it its own unique architectural symbolism. The library lobby is used to host various cultural activities. The lobby floor is a unique varied mosaic marble work. The library’s largest dome is the main feature of the hall’s high ceiling, thus providing ample natural lighting.
