A Slice of Morocco in Putrajaya

#cityplaybook Nestled within the lush expanse of Putrajaya Botanical Gardens, the Moroccan Pavilion—also known as Astaka Morocco—is a captivating fusion of North African artistry and Malaysian hospitality. Spanning 18,000 square feet, this architectural gem was constructed over two years, with materials imported from Morocco and assembled by skilled Moroccan artisans to ensure authenticity. The pavilion's design draws inspiration from Morocco's imperial cities, featuring four distinct galleries that showcase intricate zellij mosaics, arabesque patterns, and Arabic calligraphy. Most parts of the pavilion are free to visit, except the part on the very end, but which cost RM3 only anyway. P/S: the navigation guide on google maps is completely wrong. Use “botanical garden” as keyword instead. The pavilion is right inside the garden past the gate.
