Recently took the kids to Qingdao and discovered a hidden gem near May Fourth Square 🏨—Miaomi Homestay! Just a few steps downstairs is the Aeon supermarket, where you can buy seafood to boil at the homestay, saving half the cost compared to eating in tourist spots 🦐 The housekeeper replies instantly on WeChat and is super responsible! One day, the kid spilled milk on the sofa, and within ten minutes, an auntie arrived with professional cleaning supplies. But a heads-up: some rooms facing the road can hear traffic noise in the morning, so light sleepers might want to bring earplugs 🎧 💡 Practical Tips: 1. Sea view rooms in peak season (June to August) need to be booked two weeks in advance. We stayed in the off-season in February for just over 200 RMB per person (remember to request a baby crib if bringing kids). 2. To get to Taidong Night Market, it’s best to take a 15-minute taxi directly; avoid the subway (the transfers will make you question life). 3. The homestay doesn’t provide disposable toothbrushes, but you can ask the housekeeper for a children’s toothbrush set. The biggest surprise on this trip was discovering a local-only seaside trail right behind the homestay 🌊. Early mornings were spent beachcombing and collecting shells with the kids, afternoons flying kites at May Fourth Square, and evenings soaking in a hot bath—this is the true way to enjoy Qingdao’s slow life! When checking out, the kids clung to the slide crying, and this mom quietly saved the housekeeper’s WeChat, ready for a second visit 😂
