The first stop is Qingdao Station (青岛站). The red-roofed, quaint station, built during the German colonial era, still retains its charm. Leaving the station, you'll be greeted by the port city atmosphere, a mix of European-style buildings and the scent of the sea. Next, we walked to the Pier (栈桥), Qingdao's iconic wharf. Walking along the long bridge stretching over the sea, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the azure sea and the classic cityscape. Huilan Pavilion (回澜阁), visible in the distance, is a photogenic spot, offering a glimpse into Qingdao's old harbor. Next, we visited St. Michael's Cathedral (圣弥厄尔大教堂), a striking example of German Gothic architecture with impressive twin towers. The interior, with its vibrant stained glass windows reflecting the light, was a delight to linger over. Behind the scenes, Signal Hill Park (信号山公园) offers a panoramic view of Qingdao's Old City. Climbing the revolving observation deck, you'll be greeted by a panoramic view of Qingdao's iconic cityscape: piers, cathedrals, and red-roofed buildings. Finally, we visited May Fourth Square (五四广场), a coastal plaza showcasing Qingdao's modern side. The seaside promenade and the "May Wind" sculpture combine to create a captivating nighttime scene, illuminated by twinkling lights. Although it was a short one-day trip, it was a course that allowed me to fully experience the charm of Qingdao, where the quaint city's history and the refreshing sea coexist.
