Encountering Weihai, Embarking on a Journey to the Mountains and Seas There’s always a ray of light in this world that fulfills countless dreams. This time, I traveled to Weihai to keep a romantic rendezvous with the mountains and seas. Upon arriving in Weihai, my first stop was the dreamy Weihai International Bathing Beach. The fine sand, as if meticulously polished by nature, gently cradled my toes as I walked barefoot—ticklish yet soothing. The rhythmic waves lapped against the shore, creating layers of white foam that sparkled like countless diamonds under the sunlight. In the distance, the sky merged seamlessly with the deep blue sea, blurring the line between heaven and ocean. Here, I watched the sun slowly dip below the horizon, painting the sky and sea in breathtaking shades of orange and red. Leaving the beach, I headed to Huoju 8th Street, a charming lane often called the "Little Kamakura" for its artistic vibe. Lined with colorful cottages, the sloping street led straight to the azure sea. Standing at the intersection for a photo, I felt like I’d stepped into an anime scene, with every snapshot brimming with storytelling. Jiming Island was another delightful surprise of my Weihai trip. Boarding a boat to this tranquil isle felt like entering a hidden paradise. The island’s stone houses, scattered in picturesque disorder, exuded rustic charm. Strolling along winding paths, I passed wildflowers in full bloom and listened to the cheerful chirping of birds. I also savored fresh seafood on the island, a flavor so exquisite it lingers in my memory. No visit to Weihai would be complete without exploring Hanlefang, a vibrant hub of Korean culture. The streets were lined with shops selling Korean goods and eateries offering delicious fare. At a Korean barbecue joint, I indulged in sizzling pork belly paired with refreshing kimchi—a feast for the senses. Afterward, I treated myself to a Korean-style manicure or beauty treatment, immersing in the authentic local culture. Weihai, like a hidden pearl in the Bohai Bay, radiates unique charm. I eagerly await my next reunion with this city to continue my romantic journey.
