An Amazing Place in Ruian!

I call this short trip the most effective outdoor parent-child activity! We stayed at a homestay themed around intangible cultural heritage, where you can find elements of blue calico everywhere. The place features a swimming pool, a garden, a farm, and even a camping base. But that's not all! Right next to the homestay is the Dongli Intangible Cultural Heritage Folk Art Museum. The museum showcases exhibits arranged with local folk art characteristics, including cotton, wooden movable type, weaving looms, threads, and blue calico. We even got to experience making wind chimes 🎐 by hand! From picking cotton to wooden movable type printing, arranging flower wreaths, and attaching bells—it was a delightful process. Adjacent to the museum is a farm with some adorable animals like 🐰 rabbits, 🐔 chickens, and 🐑 sheep. The most fascinating part for me was the blue dyeing activity! Together with my child, we patiently went through the process of soaking, dyeing, and drying multiple times. Seeing the final product we created brought a great sense of accomplishment to the little one.
