Perhaps the best beach in Hainan is Sunny Bay.

Sunny Bay (Sun Bay). Don't confuse it with Sanya Bay—they're completely different places. ⬇️The beach is located behind a hill from Yalong Bay. If you're vacationing in this bay, we highly recommend spending a day at Sunny Bay. The mountains on all sides create an incredible atmosphere. The bay is sheltered, and on the left side are picturesque boulders—perfect for photos. The only hotel here is the Park Hyatt Sanya Sun Bay, located slightly off the main recreation area. The beach has a water sports center. Here you can: 🔵Go diving 🔵Snorkel 🔵Take a speedboat or banana boat ride (A snorkeling reef tour costs ¥380 per person) ⬇️ Admission to Sun Bay is free—it's a public area. Infrastructure: 🔵Recreation area under a canopy 🔵Small kiosk with water, beer, and ice cream 🔵Palm grove for shelter from the sun Sunny Bay reminded us of another favorite beach, Xiaodonghai: 🔵Tall palm trees right on the sand 🔵Cozy, sheltered bay 🔵Few people 🔵It feels wild in places We understand why our tourists don't know much about this beach – it's not easy to get to. Although it's close to Yalong Bay, it's a long walk from the Pullman Yalong Bay hotel – 7.1 km over hills. There are no buses here, so we always took a taxi. ⬇️A taxi to the beach costs 17-20 yuan one way. But getting a ride back is difficult – there are no taxi drivers. We booked through the Didi app. You can also: 🕙Ask the parking lot guard to call a taxi. 🕙Rent a motorbike (there are plenty in Yalong).
