It is a 5-minute walk from Nakajima Park Station. It opened as a hotel in 1881 and is the oldest wooden hotel still standing. In 1958, it was moved to the current Nakajima Park and used as a municipal wedding hall until 2011. The deep blue color that vividly borders the white exterior wall in the first picture is called ultramarine blue, a noble color made from lapis lazuli, which was once revered as a gemstone. While the entire building is based on an American style, the columns at the front entrance and the eye-catching balcony are European-style, and the plaster centerpiece on the ceiling uses motifs that Japanese people like, such as maples and peonies. It is a beautiful building where you can find various styles and motifs in one building, and it is a historic building that was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1964. You can see inside the building for an admission fee of 350 yen. Credit cards and cashless payments are also accepted. The interior of the building is a contrast to the exterior, with a lot of bright red used. It has an elegant and luxurious impression.
