Fairmont Ambassador Seoul Gold Room (Afternoon tea, birthday benefits, evening cocktails and canapés, Gold Lounge breakfast, Sauna)

I went to check in at the 1F reception, but they kindly guided me to the 3F, and after waiting for only 1 group, it was my turn right away. Unlike the 1F, I was able to check in comfortably. The staff at the Gold Lounge with a kind smile greeted me very warmly and made the conversation comfortable from the beginning. They talked about how they had a view of the construction site during their previous stay and how the building had gotten taller since then, and how they had visited 6 times in a year to enjoy afternoon tea. Then they said they heard stories from the lounge staff and read reviews on Instagram. It was a moment when I felt proud and my shoulders shrugged slightly. The room I was initially assigned was the same as last time, facing the 63 Building (although it was the 15F at the time), but since they had stayed there before, they were considerate enough to change my room to a room with a view on the opposite side. After a pleasant check-in, the head chef came right after the afternoon tea time (dessert taste was not up to my standards) and wished me a happy birthday and followed me on Instagram. (My) short English heard Osaka and Swissotel, so I thought I was from Osaka and showed him pictures of the hotel I stayed at and the afternoon tea I had. 😂 Later, I went back to my room, followed him back, and checked my feed, but all I could see were Park Hyatt Busan and Hyatt Regency Kyoto. Oh my, the place you said you were going to next month was Osaka! 🤣 When I entered my room, there was a small eclair plated on the table and a birthday card with balloon decorations. It was the first birthday card I received in about 12 years. 😭 After resting in my room for about an hour, I participated in the evening cocktail and canapé time! Also known as happy hour in other places. It's located on the 3rd floor, so there's no view, so there's no merit to the window seat. After being shown to a seat, I leisurely enjoyed the cocktail time. It's a buffet style. There's no open stage, and the grilled food, especially meat, is weak. Instead, the quality of the food is high. The taste is also guaranteed to some extent, so it's a good repertoire to have with alcohol. It was Sunday evening, and I overheard that there were about 54 people using it in total. Maybe that's why it wasn't divided into 1st and 2nd parts, so I was able to use it for about 2 hours, so I was able to enjoy it leisurely and slowly. The places that were supposed to be 1 hour actually went by in about 45 minutes, so it was really rushed. The friendly manager at the atrium lounge is also going to another place next month, so I have a short chat with him. I was on my way to Starbucks Reserve, and he happened to be working, so I greeted him happily. We talked about this and that for about 20 minutes and made a promise to visit the next place he was posted to. I went to Starbucks Reserve, had some coffee, and returned to my room. In terms of the view, the 63 Building side might be better for the openness, but the atmosphere and night view might be better on this side where the bling bling lights are blooming. Overall, the view was better on the Conrad side. I requested a turndown service, and they cleaned the bedding and room neatly, and refilled the amenities, so it was twice as good as before. 😍 A hotel with a total of 28 floors, the rooms are from 11 to 28, and the 11th to 15th floors are the basic Fairmont rooms, while the 15th to 28th floors are the Fairmont Deluxe Room and Gold Room. The only difference seems to be whether or not the Gold Lounge is included. The room size and structure seem to be the same for all three. This time, I received the 26th floor, and it is located in the center, so you can see Park One and The Hyundai Seoul in the center, and the National Assembly Building and the Han River between the buildings on both sides. As I felt last time, the mattress is comfortable for the back, and it is in good condition that makes you sleep well. The next day's breakfast is also a lounge breakfast. Sometimes you get upgraded to Spectrum, but not this time. I've been to Spectrum before, so I think it's okay to experience the lounge breakfast, so I don't think there's anything to regret. You can choose one of the egg dishes, porridge, and healthy food as the main. Overall, the variety is insufficient, and the composition is less than 50% of the main breakfast. The omelet I chose as my main dish is also good in plating, but it doesn't taste good. Since check-out is at 12 o'clock, I use the sauna, which is a benefit of the Gold Room, after breakfast. It is located on the first basement floor, along with an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center, and it is a very miniature sauna. The sauna is smaller than a bathhouse in a rural area, so it is crowded even if only 5~6 people use it. It is shared with the swimsuit laundry room, so the traffic flow overlaps with the swimming pool guests. I go to check out. The head chef and captain manager are also in the atrium lounge.
