The Crown Jewel of Joseon: Gyeongbokgung

#seoulspots Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁) is located in the heart of Seoul, it symbolizes the authority, culture, and heritage of the Korean monarchy. Destruction and Rebuilding: The palace was nearly destroyed during the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–1598) and lay in ruins for over 270 years. It was reconstructed in 1867 during the reign of King Gojong.
