🇰🇷The Centre Pompidou’s 3rd Overseas Home Is in Seoul 🎨

Seoul just got a new major art destination. Centre Pompidou Hanwha opened in June 2026 inside the 63 Building in Yeouido, bringing works from the collection of Paris’ Centre Pompidou to Korea. The museum plans to present two collection-based exhibitions each year, alongside additional special exhibitions. Its opening exhibition, The Cubists: Inventing Modern Vision, traces how Cubism completely changed the way artists saw and represented the world. You’ll find works connected to some of the most important names of early modern art, from Robert Delaunay and Juan Gris to Fernand Léger, displayed across more than 3,000㎡ of gallery space. What I especially liked was that it doesn’t stop at European Cubism. A dedicated KOREA FOCUS section explores how Paris and Western modern art influenced the development of Korean modern art as well.
