Cape Kamui, again

This is Cape Kamui, which I introduced last time. Cape Kamui is located on the Shakotan Peninsula in western Hokkaido. It is a pointed cape surrounded by the blue sea known as "Shakotan Blue". You can walk from the parking lot to the tip of the cape. It's quite difficult because the slope is steep, but you can walk to the tip in about 20 minutes 🏃‍♂️ It's a road that looks like the Great Wall of China. There are countless photo spots, so it will take even longer if you take photos along the way lol Access: About 3.5 hours by car from New Chitose Airport. About 2.5 hours by bus from Otaru Station. Public transportation is very limited, so we recommend accessing by car. #HokkaidoTrip #Sapporo #JapanGenkiProject #SummerShortTrip #AmazingView

Cape Jadan — Experience the beautiful secrets off the coast of Hokkaido, Japan! The best thing here is the sea views and natural scenery, and there are fewer tourists, not commercialized, photography will not be blocked, really relax away from the hustle and bustle. The most famous attraction in Cape Jakdan is Cape Shenwei, and although transportation is not very convenient, you can definitely arrange a day/half-day tour if you drive or check the bus times in advance. Recommended Route: It is recommended to start from Jakdan-cho and drive or take a bus to the Kamui Cape parking lot. Then walk along Cape Road to the observation deck, which takes about 20-30 minutes (more relaxing, great scenery on the way). Especially suitable for those who like to take pictures or want to quietly look at the scenery without crowding with others. A quick road trip from Sapporo landed me in the heart of Hokkaido’s photogenic gems: Otaru Canal, Shakotan’s Cape Kamui, and the magical Ningle Terrace in Furano 😎🌊🏞️. These are the must-see spots if you’re chasing scenery and chilled-out vibes in Northern Japan! Top Spots to Visit: 1. Otaru Canal (047-0007 Minatomachi, Otaru, Hokkaido, open year-round): Stroll the charming waterfront, snap those iconic retro lamplight shots, and dip into the cozy cafés lining the canal for a perfect start to your day. 2. Cape Kamui (Kozakicho, Shakotan, 046-0321): This cape is *wow* — think epic ocean views and dramatic cliffs! Opening hours shift with the season, so check times before you go (as early as 8:00 or as late as 10:00 opening, closing around 15:00–18:30). 3. Ningle Terrace (Nakagoryo, Furano, 076-8511): It’s a fairy-tale wooden village tucked in a forest, filled with local craft shops. Opening hours vary, but usually late morning until evening (best after dark for the lit-up paths!). Travel Hack: 🚗 Book a day trip from Sapporo instead of trying to DIY it with public transport. Attractions are spread out — you’ll save money, have less hassle, and can actually fit everything into one ambitious day! Getting Around: Arrange your day-trip tour online via trip.com, or hire a private transfer if you want max flexibility. Food: Try Otaru’s fresh sushi near the canal, and warm up with Furano cheese pizza or soft-serve nearby Ningle Terrace. Destination Tips: No special visa needed for most tourists. Bring enough cash as small shops may not accept cards. Hokkaido’s weather can be unpredictable, so pack layers. #HokkaidoTrip #JapanHiddenGems #TravelSmart #ScenicJapan #tripdotcom
