Hidden deep in the misty landscapes near Shangrao, Wangxian Valley (Wangxiangu) feels like a place suspended between earth and legend. With its lush cliffs, turquoise waters, and floating bridges wrapped in clouds, this valley is a true escape — a corner of Jiangxi where nature and mythology meet. If you’re staying in Shangrao, getting to Wangxian Valley is simple but requires an early start and a bit of planning. From the Shangrao Railway Station, you can take a train or bus connection to the valley area — the journey takes around 2 to 3 hours depending on the route. Once there, local buses run directly to the main entrance, where you’ll find the ticket office and vending machines. 🚌 Getting there: • There are buses from Shangrao to Wangxian Valley running throughout the day, with the last buses departing around 21:00. • Schedules can vary during low season, so it’s best to ask a local or hotel staff for the current timetable. • These buses drop you right at the main gate, where you can purchase your entry tickets. 🎟️ Tickets & visiting info: • Entrance fee: 120 RMB • Tickets available online (including on Trip.com) or directly at the ticket machines by the entrance — which is what I did. • Peak visiting hours: between 15:00 and 19:00, when the light filters through the valley and the scenery turns golden. • The last entry times can vary slightly depending on the season, so it’s worth double-checking at the gate. ✨ Travel tip: If you’re visiting just for the day and not staying overnight in Wangxiangu, make sure to catch the return bus before the evening rush. During Golden Week, transportation and ticket queues can get crowded — booking or arriving early helps a lot. The valley itself feels like stepping into a fantasy painting: waterfalls glowing in the afternoon sun, mountain trails wrapped in mist, and locals offering tea along the way.
