A futuristic city within a city, Qianhaiwan

Shenzhen is one of the fastest growing cities in history, 40 years ago it was little more than a small fishing village across the water from Hong Kong and now it’s a sprawling metropolis home to nearly 20 million people. As the city has expanded along the water various mini cities have popped up along the way, including Futian, Hohai & Chegongmeo. Huge urban areas with their own downtown cores, shopping districts and food streets - however Qianhaiwan is special. Built along the waterfront in the cities Bao’on district it has become a new hub for shopping, eating and culture - alongside huge office developments which are popping up all over the city. There are multiple malls, parks and food streets and a lot of family friendly areas along the waterfront - including an iconic Ferris wheel that offers stunning views of the eastern side of the city The development is right under the flight path for the airport so if you are interested in aviation you can grab a coffee, sit outside and watch the flights coming into the airport.
