Stunning Sintra

Located just 30 minutes for Portugal’s capital city of Lisbon, the UNESCO world heritage site of Sintra is well worth the diversion when visiting the city: The small town has plenty of attractions to keep you occupied for the full day and no matter how long you have to spend here it’s never enough. Some of the key attractions include the Pena national palace and its stunning gardens, the castle of the moors that dominated the hill above the town. And the Sintra National palace. Make sure to try one of the towns famous pastries before you leave #aprilblooms #portugal #unescoheritage

Sintra is a Portuguese village located very close to Lisbon. There are several attractions to know in the city, I suggest spending more than a day in the city. Pictured is the Palácio da Pena, which on July 7, 2007 was elected as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. #historicallandmarks #portugal

🏰 Sintra in the sunshine? Yes please! The National Palace of Pena totally owned my Portugal daytrip—fairytale towers, wild colors, and epic views everywhere. If you love outdoor European vibes (and taking #nofilter photos with a royal backdrop), this spot is essential. Must-See Place: National Palace of Pena Address: Estrada da Pena, 2710-609 Sintra, Portugal Hours: 09:00-18:00 (Closed Jan 1, Dec 24-25, Dec 31) Admission: €20 What’s Cool: The architecture is pure fantasy + you get those sunny panoramic shots of Sintra’s hills and coastline. I explored every colorful angle—from close-up detail hunting to wide shots for that storybook effect. The grounds outside are dreamy for a chill stroll and tons of Insta-worthy moments. Pro tip: Go in the morning to beat the bus tours and catch the best light! My Tips: - Wear comfy shoes, seriously—the hillside is no joke! - Bring water and snacks since food isn’t great inside and gets pricey. - Grab your tickets in advance on trip.com to avoid long lines and set times. - Best photo spots: main terrace and the castle bridges (crowds thin before noon). Getting Around: Take the train from Lisbon to Sintra, then hop Bus 434 uphill (don’t bother walking; it’s steep!). Weather: Even in summer, Sintra gets breezy in the mountains; pack a sweater just in case. Final foodie rec: After your palace adventure, hit up a local bakery and try a travesseiro (almond puff pastry). #SintraViews #PenaPalace #PortugalTrip #tripdotcom
