Must-See Place: National Palace of Pena Address: Estrada da Pena, 2710-609 Sintra, Portugal Hours: 09:00-18:00 (Closed Jan 1, Dec 24-25, Dec 31) Admission: €20 What’s Cool: The architecture is pure fantasy + you get those sunny panoramic shots of Sintra’s hills and coastline. I explored every colorful angle—from close-up detail hunting to wide shots for that storybook effect. The grounds outside are dreamy for a chill stroll and tons of Insta-worthy moments. Pro tip: Go in the morning to beat the bus tours and catch the best light! My Tips: - Wear comfy shoes, seriously—the hillside is no joke! - Bring water and snacks since food isn’t great inside and gets pricey. - Grab your tickets in advance on trip.com to avoid long lines and set times. - Best photo spots: main terrace and the castle bridges (crowds thin before noon). Getting Around: Take the train from Lisbon to Sintra, then hop Bus 434 uphill (don’t bother walking; it’s steep!).
