Suichang: A Hidden Gem in Jiangnan, Even More Charming Than Songyang

When talking about tourist attractions in Lishui, Zhejiang, Jinyun, Yunhe, and Songyang often come to mind first. However, just two weeks ago, I stumbled upon Suichang, and I instantly regretted not coming sooner! This is a seriously underrated, hidden paradise in Jiangnan. I spent two truly carefree days in Suichang, living a secluded life. Now, I'd like to recommend four ancient villages, each with its own unique charm. 📍Address: Suichang County, Lishui, Zhejiang 🚗Transportation: Driving is highly recommended for maximum flexibility. If you choose to take the train, it's also convenient to take a taxi from Suichang Station. Fuluoyu Village ✅Recommendation Index: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⏰Visit Duration: 2 hrs This is my favorite ancient village in Suichang! Surrounded by mountains on three sides, with a stream flowing through it, the original appearance of the ancient village is incredibly well-preserved. Every household raises chickens and ducks, showcasing a primitive and simple lifestyle. For a moment, I felt like I was in an ancient village in Yunnan. The riverside is also a perfect spot for picnics and camping, without the need for strenuous hikes. It's an ideal choice for a weekend road trip. Cheqian Village ✅Recommendation Index: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⏰Visit Duration: 3 hrs The only inconvenience in getting to Cheqian Village is the winding mountain road. But when you reach the top, you'll find it was all worth it! Two ancient villages, embraced by terraced fields, face each other from afar. This is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, a secluded paradise in the countryside. I stayed overnight, and the next morning, the mist shrouded the mountains, like a real-life, unfolding ink painting of mountain life. Jiaochuan Village ✅Recommendation Index: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⏰Visit Duration: 2 hrs Jiaochuan Village, a historical and cultural village in Zhejiang Province, is only 30 minutes away from Suichang County. The village is quite large, but mostly consists of new buildings. The ancient architecture is mainly concentrated in the Pan Family Mansion and the Pan Family Granary. The view of the rooftops from above is stunning. Wangcunkou Red Ancient Town ✅Recommendation Index: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⏰Visit Duration: 4 hrs With the Wuxi River flowing through it, Wangcunkou has been an important water transportation hub in southwestern Zhejiang since ancient times, known as "Little Shanghai." In 1935, the Southwest Zhejiang Revolutionary Base, centered around Wangcunkou, was established here, leaving behind numerous stories and relics of the revolution. Recommended spots to visit: 1935 Cultural Tourism Street, Hongji Bridge, and the 1942 Suichang People's Rescue of American Pilots Memorial Hall.
