Three Hotel Indigo properties in one city, but only this one takes center stage

It's undeniable that Hotel Indigo has a special fondness for Suzhou, taking this affection to the extreme with three Hotel Indigo properties in one city—something that might not work in other cities. This latest review features Hotel Indigo Suzhou Jinji Lake. This Hotel Indigo's greatest advantage is its prime location on Jinji Lake. The hotel entrance faces the lake and the Ferris wheel, making it convenient to go anywhere in the surrounding area. It's positioned at a higher standard than other Hotel Indigo hotels and was designed by CCD. Upon arrival, my first impression was the futuristic design. The lobby doesn't strongly emphasize the neighborhood culture. Possibly due to height restrictions around Jinji Lake, the guest rooms are arranged along long corridors, with some rooms quite far from the elevators. I checked in to a one-bedroom Ferris wheel and Jinji Lake view suite measuring 90 square meters. The highlight of this room is that the living room, bedroom, and bathroom all face Jinji Lake and the Ferris wheel. The room layout is very spacious and well-proportioned. The living room features a special bookshelf with five actual books for guests to read, not just decorative items. The welcome card was beautifully written—"Explorer" and Hotel Indigo somehow match perfectly. The welcome gift was very Suzhou-style and exquisite. The minibar is complimentary, stocked with 5100 mineral water. The old-fashioned soda in the refrigerator tastes great, though the minibar selection isn't particularly extensive. The sofa by the bed in the bedroom is a perfect touch—sitting there in the afternoon sunshine, reading a book, and looking out the window can be quite healing. The bedding is excellent, with a Kingkoil mattress paired with soft, delicate linens for a superb sleeping experience. The bathroom features double sinks, separate wet and dry areas, Diptyque toiletries, and a Dyson hair dryer. There's an oversized round bathtub with bath salts provided. Special mention goes to their bathrobes, which are both comfortable and stylish. The hotel has only one restaurant on the first floor, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner. The service is quite good. While dining isn't Hotel Indigo's strongest feature, the à la carte Western menu items are decent. From breakfast, I only remember the siu mai; everything else was unremarkable. The coffee wasn't great—at least to me, they weren't using good coffee beans. The sunset at Jinji Lake is truly photogenic. People of all kinds stroll, chat, and take photos by the lake—Suzhou is truly beautiful at this time. This is also one of the few Hotel Indigo properties that excels in turndown service, from the folded bedding and slipper placement to the turndown gift of a pink silk eye mask. In conclusion, this Hotel Indigo is worth bookmarking. From location, service, and environment to cleanliness, everything is on point. The only weakness is the ordinary breakfast without many highlights.
