This is a chill, relaxing city getaway—even if it's a spur-of-the-moment trip, it's easy to pull off! Itinerary Highlights This itinerary is perfect for those who prefer a slower pace. Admission to the Hot Springs Museum is free, allowing you to experience Taiwanese hot spring culture without paying. The Geothermal Valley offers rich steam, hot spring water, and hand baths. Just a reminder: don't forget to bring a small towel to soak your hands while enjoying the ritual! The entire route connects to various attractions on foot, making it perfect for those who want to explore more in a short time! Beitou Half-Day Itinerary Summary 1. Xinbeitou MRT Station This is a super convenient starting point! Take the MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line and exit Xinbeitou Station, and you'll find the old Beitou neighborhood. Nearby, you can easily take photos of the arty art installations within the station. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as the route involves extensive walking. 2. Beitou Hot Springs Museum 📍Address: No. 2, Zhongshan Road, Beitou District, Taipei City ⏰Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (Closed Mondays and public holidays) A must-see before soaking in the hot springs! The old Japanese-style bathhouse is a truly retro experience, and you can learn more about hot spring culture for free. There are frequent cultural and historical exhibitions, so plan to spend 30-45 minutes exploring! 3. Geothermal Valley 📍Address: Near the intersection of Zhongshan Road and Tangquan Road, Beitou District, Taipei City ⏰Opening Hours: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM The birthplace of Beitou Hot Springs! The air is filled with steam and the aroma of sulfur. You can even try the "hand bath"—soaking your hands in the warm water is incredibly soothing! There's a free foot bath nearby, but the water is a bit warm, so test it out before diving. Practical Tips and Experience Sharing 1. The Hot Spring Museum is free. If you're visiting on a holiday, some exhibitions may have limited capacity, so arrive early to avoid disappointment. 2. The Geothermal Valley hand bath is incredibly popular, so bring a small towel for hand wiping and photo ops. It's not suitable for foot baths, so only hands are allowed. 3. Beitou is dotted with hot spring hotels and old street food stalls. Explore the area while strolling—I personally recommend trying the authentic Beitou steamed buns! 4. Important reminder: The steam area of the Geothermal Valley is slippery, so please be mindful of your footing. 5. This entire route is entirely on foot, and while it's comfortable, please wear good walking shoes to avoid losing your spirit. Getting There: Take the MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line directly to Xinbeitou Station. From there, you can walk to all the main attractions.
