National Palace Museum,Taipei

A must-see for art and history lovers in Taiwan. The National Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City Museum in Thailand, houses over 700,000 historical artifacts from China's Forbidden City Museum. It's said to have a rotating collection of over 700,000 artifacts. Since we were staying in the Ximen area, getting to the museum was extremely convenient. We took bus 304 from Chongqing N. station directly to the museum from Ximen without having to change lines. The fare was only about NT$30. We spent the entire afternoon at the museum, but I have to say that we didn't explore the entire place. Although there are only four floors, each floor is very spacious and features ancient art from prehistoric times to the Qing Dynasty, divided into rooms arranged by era. The museum opens from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We stayed until the museum closed and were greeted by the setting sun. The museum's location on a hill, in accordance with Feng Shui principles, makes for a stunning view. If you're interested in art history and have time, we recommend going early in the morning and staying all day. It's well worth it. There are plenty of restaurants and resting spots inside.
