Magnificent Journey Through Tateyama Kurobe

Tateyama Kurobe is renowned for its breathtaking views of the Japanese Alps, often referred to as the "Roof of Japan." This time, I experienced the complete Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. The scenery along the way is ever-changing: in spring, you can marvel at the spectacular Snow Corridor, with towering snow walls reaching over ten meters high on both sides, leaving visitors in awe. During summer and autumn, the lush green mountains and vibrant autumn foliage create a stunning backdrop. Upon reaching the Kurobe Dam, the magnificent arched structure and emerald-green lake come into view, and if you're lucky enough to witness the water discharge, the sight is truly majestic. Although the journey involves multiple transfers, the transportation system is well-organized, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in nature while appreciating the marvels of human engineering. Tateyama Kurobe is not only a paradise for photography enthusiasts but also an ideal destination for those seeking to relax their minds and experience the beauty of seasonal changes.
