#Japan Attractions The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in Japan is a road connecting Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture and Ogizawa Station in Nagano Prefecture. It is also a mountain sightseeing route that was opened on June 1, 1971. The route has a maximum altitude difference of 1,975 meters and is connected by a variety of transportation modes including rail, cable railway, bus, trolleybus and ropeway. The entire section is located in the Chubu Sangaku National Park. It is open from mid-April to mid-November every year. Even in the tourist season, due to the altitude difference in the mountains, the temperature difference is often quite large.
