Treviso – More Than Just Venice's Airport

This charming Italian town has a unique atmosphere that deserves attention in its own right. With its peaceful canals, cobbled streets, and beautifully preserved medieval architecture, Treviso feels like a quieter, more authentic version of its famous neighbor. I wandered through the historic center, where elegant frescoed buildings and old city walls reminded me of its rich past. Piazza dei Signori was the perfect place to stop for an espresso and watch the town come to life. I also explored the tranquil Buranelli Canal area, lined with colorful houses and small bridges, offering picture-perfect views at every turn. Treviso is also known for being the birthplace of tiramisu, so I couldn’t resist trying a slice in one of the local cafés — and it was easily the best I’ve had. What surprised me most was how local and relaxed everything felt, without the tourist crowds. Visiting Treviso reminded me that sometimes the best travel moments happen in places people overlook.
