Malvarrosa – The Most Beautiful and Famous Beach in Valencia

#falladventures Valencia has 20 km of beaches, and the most beautiful one is Malvarrosa 🙂 It is also the most famous of all the beaches in Valencia and has inspired great artists. It got its name in the mid-19th century when the former marshland was transformed into a pine-flower plantation. It was the first place where the melody of “La chica de ayer”, the legendary song by the Spanish singer Antonio Vega, was heard. In the past, the famous tram used to run across the beach; today it has been modernised. The writer Manuel Vicent turned the beach into a totem in his famous novel. Its width, fine golden sand, and easy access from anywhere in the city make it one of the most popular beaches among the local population.
