Xiamen Parenting Diary｜A Healing Mountain Moment After the Eye Exam

Weekend family time started with taking the kid to the Eye Center for a vision check. After it was done, not wanting to waste the beautiful weather, I simply held the child's hand and strolled slowly to the nearby Hongshan Park. After just a few steps, we were drawn to an orange cat curled up like a furball beside the stone steps. The little guy basked in the sun, lazily lifting its eyelids, allowing the child to gently pet it while squatting nearby, instantly easing the slight tension from the eye exam. Walking up the mountain trail step by step, the breeze carried the fresh scent of grass and trees. From the height, the bustling city traffic and the picturesque scenery of Gulangyu Island were all in view. The child excitedly pointed at the white sails in the distance, chattering nonstop.
