Ximatai

[One] Ximatai is located at the highest point of Hubushan in the center of Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. It is a free attraction. [Two] Ximatai is a record of Xiang Yu's glorious moment. It is one of the oldest historical and cultural relics in Xuzhou and a popular destination for literati throughout the ages. It is known as the "No. 1 Attraction in Xuzhou." [Three] Ximatai was built in 206 BC. After Xiang Yu destroyed the Qin Dynasty, he declared himself the Hegemon-King of Western Chu and established his capital in Pengcheng. He built a high platform on Nanshan Mountain in the south of the city to watch horse shows, hence the name Ximatai. [Four] Ximatai is one of the few important sites related to Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu, that can be verified by historical records. [Five] The scenic area is divided into two parts, north and south, by Fengyun Pavilion. It tells the story of the brave and tragic life of Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu, and the history of the Chu-Han Contention and the power struggles more than 2,000 years ago.
