Hongcun is just too beautiful

Hongcun was founded during the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131—1162), and it has a history of more than 800 years. Originally called 'Hong Village', according to the 'Wang Family Genealogy', it was named for its expansion into a shape resembling the Taiyi (the great one), hence the name 'Hong Village'. During the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong era, its name was changed to Hongcun. Hongcun has a history of over 800 years and is a settlement of the Wang family. The architecture of Hongcun is simple and elegant, full of interest, and reflects the ultimate in traditional Hui-style architectural style. In 2000, the ancient villages of Southern Anhui - Xidi and Hongcun (Ancient Villages in Southern Anhui - Xidi and Hongcun) were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as cultural heritage.
