Yilan has always been a healing place for tourism in Taiwan. If you are tired of the busy life in the city, you might as well have a real "forest bath" experience! This trip chose the popular natural attraction in Yilan - Jianqing Huaigu Trail. Walking in the forest on the trail, breathing in the full of natural oxygen, instantly felt like the mind was washed by nature. If you like camping and like to be close to the mountains and forests, Yilan really will not disappoint you! The Sunny Nostalgia Trail was originally the ruins of the Taiping Mountain Forest Railway, retaining the charming and primitive atmosphere of the old railway and old tree roots. The trail is about 2.45 kilometers long and about 1,700 meters above sea level. The difficulty is simple, just walk slowly and stop to feel the breeze in the forest. Along the trail you will encounter ancient cypress trees, a sea of dense trees, and small squirrels and birds jumping around from time to time. The most eye-catching thing is the towering native semi-wild forest on both sides of the trail. It’s really healing to stroll along! Popular photo spot: The old railway wooden bridge, taking pictures under the shade of light and shadow, is as beautiful as a painting. - Address: 267 No. 1 of 58 Taiping Lane, Datong Township, Yilan County, Taiwan - Opening hours: 06:00-17:00 year-round Practical tips: 1️⃣ Forest trail morning and evening temperature difference, remember to bring a jacket; some areas of the trail are wet and slippery, it is recommended to wear hiking shoes or non-slip sneakers. 2️⃣ The mobile phone signal is weaker along the way, it is best to download the offline map in advance. 3️⃣ There is a parking lot at the entrance of the trail, if you drive directly; but on holidays it is recommended to go in the morning, otherwise cars may have to queue. 4️⃣ The trail is not easy to walk, suitable for families, but children need to pay attention to safety, close to the guardrail do not climb. After returning to the city, you can stop by the "Lo Tung Night Market" to enjoy the tangerine stew and Samsung onion cake. There are also light meals available at Taiping Mansion, suitable for replenishing energy before and after the trip. There is direct passenger transportation between Yilan and Taipei, where you can transfer to Taiping Mountain and the trail entrance. If driving from Taipei City about 2.5 hours drive.
