Lijiang is a summer retreat, located on the plateau with a cool climate in summer, featuring ancient villages, snow mountains, the Lijiang Golden Pagoda, and Fuguo Temple. The Golden Pagoda Temple is situated on Snake Mountain in the Lijiang city area, facing the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from afar. It's a particularly niche attraction. Built during the Tang Dynasty, it has a history of over a thousand years. Admission is free. Transportation strategy: Take bus no. 15 directly to Dayan Ancient Town. Walk to visit the Golden Pagoda. Attraction strategy: The Great Maitreya Buddha statue, Guanyin Hall, Ashoka Pillar, Thousand Buddha and Ten Thousand Lamp Hall, God of Wealth Hall, and the Golden Buddha Pagoda. There are 108 white pagodas around, which are typical of Tibetan Buddhism architecture. Fuguo Temple is the first Tibetan temple in Lijiang and the largest Kagyu monastery in Yunnan. It is located behind Baisha Village, in Zhishan area. Transportation strategy: Take the Baisha Ancient Town tourist line to Baisha Ancient Town, then take a taxi. Walking takes about an hour. Baisha Ancient Town A well-preserved Naxi ancient village located at the foot of the snow mountain. Attraction strategy: Fuguo Temple was founded in the Ming Dynasty, and figures like Gama Ba have presided over grand dharma assemblies here. The Fuguo Temple has a cross-shaped layout, with three bays in width, and its main building is the Wufeng Tower, facing the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Vegetarian meals are available at noon. Wenhai Village is located in Baisha Township, Yulong County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, opposite Baisha Ancient Town across the mountain, in a low-lying valley with blue waters and singing birds. Accommodation: Recommended to stay inside Dayan Ancient Town for convenience in touring the area, with prices starting from 60 yuan for a standard room. Dining: Recommended to go to Zhongyi Market, frequented by locals, with recommended dishes such as smoked pork rib hotpot and fried sauce rice noodles.
