Jinmao Purelax Mountain Hotel, Yulong Snow Mountain, Lijiang

Lijiang is located on the southern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the northwest Yunnan Plateau. It borders Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and Panzhihua City to the east, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture to the south, and Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture to the northwest. Homo sapiens were active in Lijiang as early as the Paleolithic Age. During the Warring States period, Lijiang belonged to Shu County of the Qin State. After Chu Zhuangqiao opened up the Yunnan area, it became part of the Dian Kingdom. Lijiang boasts three major heritages: World Cultural Heritage, Natural Heritage, and Memory of the World Register. It also features the Naxi Dongba culture and the Lugu Lake matriarchal culture. Yulong Snow Mountain is a mountain range within Lijiang, belonging to the Hengduan Mountains. It is adjacent to the Tiger Leaping Gorge to the west and stands alongside the Zhongdian Snow Mountain. Located 5 kilometers north of Lijiang, it unfolds like a fan facing the ancient city. Its highest peak reaches 5,596 meters. Thirteen snow-capped peaks stretch from south to north, resembling a giant dragon, hence the name "Yulong" (Jade Dragon). Because it is mainly composed of limestone and basalt, appearing black and white, it is considered the sacred mountain of the Naxi people. The Jinmao Purelax Mountain Hotel Lijiang is situated opposite Yulong Snow Mountain in the Ganhaizi Meadow area at an altitude of 3,200 meters. It blends modern and ethnic characteristics, integrating seamlessly with Yulong Snow Mountain. The outdoor balcony offers direct views of the stunning Yulong Snow Mountain. In the morning, you can witness the sunrise illuminating the golden mountain, and in the evening, you can enjoy a delicious local yak hot pot. Driving from Dali to Lijiang, we first checked in at the InterContinental Dali Resort. The hotel's location is superb, with the ancient city just a step outside the back door. This trip focused on exploring Lijiang Ancient City, specifically Dayan Ancient Town. We picked up our mountain entry permits at the Grand Hyatt Lijiang and visited Baisha Ancient Town on our way to the Yulong Snow Mountain scenic area. We stayed at the most beautiful snow mountain hotel, the Jinmao Purelax Mountain Hotel Lijiang. The hotel service was excellent. From pre-arrival to post-stay, the Jinmao Purelax Hotel guest service official account provided helpful travel guidance and assistance. The hotel room was exceptional, offering a wonderful experience of Yulong Snow Mountain and a sense of harmony with nature. Remember to book your cable car tickets in advance. Taking the cable car up Yulong Snow Mountain is very convenient, making the trip worthwhile. We stayed for two nights and it snowed. It iced over at night. The scenery was truly breathtaking. However, when we were checking out at noon, our old diesel SUV wouldn't start. What could we do? The bellhop was incredibly kind. He drove his own car over and, with the help of the engineering staff, quickly got our car started. It was fantastic! A first-class hotel with first-class staff. An unforgettable experience.
