Mid-Autumn Festival Trip to Zhangzhou

I went to Zhangzhou, Fujian with my parents for the Mid-Autumn Festival. The ancient city of Zhangzhou has been renovated but still retains its unique charm. The entire ancient city is dominated by red brick colors, but old signs are also preserved. The ground is paved with granite. Most of the shops in the ancient city sell local snacks, but there are also clothing stores, photo studios, and pharmacies. There is a beautiful small river in the ancient city, with willow trees along the banks, creating a pleasant atmosphere. As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the ancient city is decorated with lanterns everywhere, making it very beautiful, especially at night. During the long Mid-Autumn Festival weekend, the ancient city is filled with tourists, making it very lively. The most amazing thing is that we saw a few stalls with long queues for food. The ancient city feels a bit like a night market, with many visitors taking photos everywhere even at night. It is currently very popular for girls in China to rent local costumes at photo studios to take artistic photos. So, you can see girls wearing floral hairpins and local costumes everywhere. 💰Average Spending: The food prices vary, with the cheapest being around 9 yuan and the more expensive ones costing several dozen yuan per portion. 🗓️Itinerary: If you don't mind a tight schedule, a weekend is enough. Take the train from West Kowloon to Zhangzhou at 8:42 AM, arriving at 12:14 PM. Arrange accommodation near the ancient city, and after checking in, explore the ancient city until the evening. On the second day, you can sleep in, then explore a bit more before taking the high-speed train from Zhangzhou back to West Kowloon at 5:50 PM, arriving in Hong Kong at 9:28 PM. 💞Recommended Reason: A simple, relaxing, and affordable weekend trip.
