Braving the Typhoon to Explore Guishan Island || Half-Day Hiking Tour on Guishan Island

🚢 Departure from Xiangzhou Port｜12:40 Departure 16:50 Return A rare trip to Zhuhai, and although a typhoon was about to make landfall, I still chose to take the risk. I picked the latest return ferry of the day, a 50-minute one-way trip 🌅 The walking route is guided to the left after leaving the pier (Photo 2): Pier - Guixiaobao - Thine Coffee Shop - Liyuan - Guishan Primary School - Xingfeiyu Café - Pier. I personally can finish this route in about half a day, and it covers several great photo spots (purely on foot). 🥟 Guixiaobao｜Photos 4–10 Right after leaving the pier, you can see the grand and imposing white Customs building. The wide road with pure blue edges has a strong seaside vibe. On the way to Guixiaobao, there is a row of seafood markets on the left. The Guixiaobao store decoration is quite outstanding and beautiful. I didn’t go inside to sit, just took some photos of the exterior. ☕ Thine Coffee Shop｜ Turn a corner and walk uphill to see "Thine Coffee." The interior and exterior of the shop are both very nice. I wanted to go in for a cup and rest a bit, but the shop was small and crowded, so I gave up. On the way to the coffee shop, you can see the seaside avenue in photos 11 and 12, and the vintage-style basketball court in photo 13. 🏡 Liyuan｜Sky Mirror Photo Spot Follow the stone path uphill to reach "Liyuan," which is actually a hotel with a Sky Mirror check-in spot exclusive to the hotel but allows visitors to stop briefly for photos 📸. Since it’s uphill, you can overlook stunning sea views from various angles! There are many guesthouses and hotels along the way, mostly with white walls. There are also many side paths, some of which you can explore to see the high vantage point views shown in photos 18 and 19. 🏫 Guishan Primary School｜ After reaching a corner that looks like the highest point, you can go downhill and pass by the school. 🌴 Xingfeiyu Café｜Photos 1 and 20 I happened to pass by and went in to order a coffee and rest for a bit. Coffee costs about 35 RMB per cup. The café environment is pretty good; at least when I went, it wasn’t crowded and was quite comfortable. The outdoor view is like the scenes in photos 1 and 20. 🚢 Return to Pier｜Pier exterior photo 3 I originally planned to rest and then continue walking to the right side of the pier to visit and , but a sudden heavy rain forced me to reschedule and leave half an hour earlier to avoid being stranded if the ferry was canceled. Although the ferry was delayed, the trip ended safely and with beautiful scenery. 💡 Additional Notes ✅ I saw some cute blue mascots hidden in various corners! (Photo 16) ✅ I hardly spent anything on the island as I brought my own food. Island prices are relatively high due to scarce supplies and labor, which is understandable. ✅ The ferry ride is moderate in length, and the island’s commercialization is relatively developed. There are quite a few accommodations and dining options, mostly concentrated, making it convenient to explore. It’s suitable for friends who want to make a day trip. 🌇 The island sunset I couldn’t catch this time will be saved for the next visit.
