Today I felt that death is very close to me. It was really slippery walking on the rocks up and down the slope in the heavy rain. But because of time constraints, we must walk very quickly. By the second or third section, the rain turned into hail and kept hitting my face, which was very painful. When you are almost there, you have to pass a small stream. The heavy rain has made the water flow fast and urgent. Then, I crossed my legs wrong...my left foot was completely wet...and I was freezing. But I finally arrived 🥺 My legs were shaking as I walked towards the Miracle Stone. The road was extremely narrow, and you had to walk slowly and sideways to avoid falling. I even accidentally looked down...but actually when you are actually standing on the stone, it is not scary at all. Even if you look down, it's okay. However, the way back was the real disaster... The scariest part was walking on the slope, but you couldn't see the road ahead... and the stones were very slippery. My feet kept shaking and I couldn't find a place to put them. #2024TravelReview The Norwegian name of the Miracle Stone, Kjeragbolten, is a combination of Kjerag, the deepest mountain in the Lysefjord, and bolten. There is a rock that is stuck in the cliff and hangs above the Lysefjord. Bolten means embedded. It is called the Miracle Stone because it is considered a miracle of nature. This boulder is approximately 5 square meters and is 984 meters above sea level. Miracle 🪨Below is the beautiful Lysefjord. The Miracle Rock is only 9 kilometers away, and it usually takes about 5 hours to go back and forth. The distance and time are much shorter than the Devil's Tongue, but you need to go up and down 3 hills and it is steeper. There are iron chains to help on dangerous sections. It is recommended to climb in June-August (the rest of the month because the ice and snow have not melted). If it rains and the conditions are slippery, it is recommended to give up climbing and take a walk nearby instead. The climbing route to Miracle Rock is very clear, and the signs along the way are very clear. As long as you follow the signs and the red T-shirts, you will basically not get lost. June 21, Stavanger - Pulpit Rock Hiking - Bøssgrenda Depart from the hotel at 7:30 AM, drive for 1 hour, and arrive at the Pulpit Rock parking lot around 8:30 AM. The name Pulpit Rock comes from its unique 'pulpit-like' shape. This cliff is entirely rectangular, with a vertical wall and a platform at the top forming a massive natural podium. One side of the cliff edge is incredibly smooth, like a giant tabletop, while the other side plunges straight into the clouds. The entire hiking trail to Pulpit Rock is not too difficult, but it is definitely not easy. The initial mountain path is relatively gentle, covered with moss and passing through a primeval forest. As you continue, the challenge increases, with the flat path replaced by steps made of piled rocks. These steps show no signs of artificial carving, looking natural and rustic, but they are uneven and quite strenuous to walk on. The overall trend is upward, with occasional small downward slopes, followed by a long boardwalk. It's a relief to finally not have to step on rocks, but the boardwalk soon ends. I don't know how long I walked, turning one bend after another, always hoping the next bend would bring an end to the steps and a flatter path. But my hopes were dashed; after each bend, there were more steps, and then more steps. Just when you think you're almost there, another steep slope appears, which is really frustrating. The last section of the trail is the most challenging. Just a few hundred meters from the end, you will encounter a sinkhole, like a giant pit blocking your way. This pit is several hundred meters deep, with a narrow wooden footbridge on one side. When you stand at the edge of the sinkhole and look down at the bottomless cliff, your legs will involuntarily tremble. The bridge is only wide enough for one person, with no handrails or protection. The Pulpit, also known as the Pulpit Stone, is a free tourist attraction in Strand, Rogaland County, Norway. If you drive, you need to pay for parking. To get there, you can take a bus from the town of Stavenger for about 50 minutes and walk for about 2 hours to see the magnificent view of the Lysefjord. Travelled to Pulpit Rock from Stavanger, as we travelled in Aug we managed to hop onto a boat ride there ⛴️ The photos definitely don't do justice to the magnificent view when u reach the top. Aug might be summer, however, as we climbed higher it gets more chilling so do cover up! Another note was to bring a mini first-aid kit along, never did we know that it would come into use. We offered our survival blanket and bandages to a lady who fell while heading down.
