For first time tourists, it is better to get a tour most especially during holidays in China when a lot of local and foreign tourists would visit. For a quick 3-day budget travel to ZJJ and Furong Town like what we did, paying for a tour would make the travel more efficient. It can also avoid unwanted overspending for unexpected circumstances like overpriced transport services most especially during holidays since less cars can be booked through an app due to high demand (in Furong Town). The perfect early morning light at around 10am shines through the shade of waterfall, and these tiny droplets of water illuminate colorful rainbow of light at different wavelengths. 🪭👘But Furong offers more, see this cute painting of a girl in traditional dress? we found this perfect location for picture at the entrance of Furong ancient city Last but not least, the last Pic of the bridge on the smaller waterfall is the view from one of the local restaurants where we have breakfast, lunch and dinner🍳🍴to finish our day in Furong😋

Are you traveling to Hunan ? especially around Zhangjiajie maybe ? Then, I really recommend you to allow 1 night to this peaceful ancient town. You can reach Furong by train for less than 1hour from Zhangjiajie at a very affordable price. Enjoy the light show of the waterfall, and a lot of show around the town. Some locals foods are also delicious!!! Make sure to book an hotel inside the ancient town with a view of the river from the balcony and enjoy !!!

A 20-minute train ride from Zhangjiajie, there is the delightful ancient Furong town. This town, built more than 1000 years ago on a waterfall, is known for its night lights. The views that open up during a walk around Furong are also beautiful during the day. But if you like outdoor activities, ask the taxi driver to take you to Zuolongxia Scenic area and hike along the canyon bed. The route can take about 2 hours or less if you have good physical fitness. However, I recommend having more free time to take interesting photos of waterfalls and rocks. You will climb and walk on slippery stones. You should buy gloves at the beginning of the hike! And you must remember: after the "exit" sign, an endless staircase up is waiting for you😁 But it is really a great trip! You will proud of yourself! Ask the taxi driver to meet you at the end of the route. There are no buses there.

Nice walk in the evening when the ancient town is lit up, make sure you walk through the town to see the amazing water fall! There is performance at 7:30pm of the history of this town and the minorities culture. About 1.5hours to immerse in the history and culture of the town. Lots of shops, restaurants and bars. This place became famous because the movie "Furong Town" directed by Xie Jin in 1986 was filmed here, and it was officially renamed from "Wangcun" to "Furong Town". The ancient town is nestled in the mountains and beside the water, surrounded on three sides by the Youshui River. The most unique landscape in the town is the 60-meter-high double-step waterfall. The water cascades down from the cliff, contrasting with the densely packed Tujia stilt houses, forming a wonder of "ancient town hanging on the waterfall", which looks even more dreamy under the lights at night. The ancient town has well-preserved bluestone roads and ancient dwellings. Along the streets, you can see Tujia buildings made of traditional wooden boards, full of traces of time. Important cultural heritage includes the "Xizhou Copper Pillar" engraved with a thousand-year-old covenant, and the "Tuwang Palace" next to the waterfall, which showcases Tusi history and architectural features. Absolutely loved our place in the old town. Super cute streets and perfect location. The entire place it made of wood and it suites the surroundings perfect. We loved our stay here.
