You won't know how beautiful it is until you go there| Visited the life I've been longing for and met my old friend Xipo again. The entire homestay is surrounded by mountains, and the picturesque scenery is hidden in the deep mountains. The homestay retains the local characteristic yellow mud outer wall and red tile roof, and it is very Xipo. The food adheres to Xipo's purpose to fatten you up, all are home-cooked dishes cooked by local aunts. As for fun, I highly recommend going to Shuangshimen. Don't be confused by the simplicity of the entrance of the scenic spot. Boldly go inside, the road conditions are not very good, and the car is parked at the first mountain stone. Walking in will have a different experience, wading through the river, single-plank bridge, after climbing and wading, you can welcome the end of hardship, it's so beautiful. The temperature difference between day and night is still quite large now, so you still need to bring some thick clothes. Pay attention to sun protection during the day, and it will be a bit cold in the shade. Every aspect reflects the meticulous and warm Northwest sentiment. How to get there- Langmusi is a small town in Southern gansu province, China. We originally planned to take the bus here however we discovered buses were not running as regularly as we hoped and had to get a driver from Jiuzhaigou Valley. What to do- the scenery in Langmusi is a nature lover’s dream. Mountains and rolling hills are home to Tibetan nomads (and their guard dogs- Tibetan mastiffs!!). You can hike in the area (recommend you get a guide for safety), or as we did go on a horse trek. Where to eat and drink- There is a nice restaurant and bar street running through the town with a small selection of Chinese food options. If you want Western food go to Black tent cafe, which is owned by the Lady who provided the horse trek tour #camping

Getting There - we travelled by train all the way from Shanghai. it was good value, fast and comfortable. Attractions - My highlights were Dunhuang and the Rainbow Mountains. There are many accommodations near Qichai Mountain, but Khaosan Dagong (靠山大宫) is a traditional Gansu Province accommodation where you can enjoy a lamb skewer buffet at night and taste traditional Gansu food during the day. And the lights shining in the direction of Qichai Mountain at night are very worth seeing. However, the bathroom and shower room are shared, which is inconvenient. Hotel Photography Case Study – Chengheshun Grand Hotel, Dunhuang, Gansu|||This was my second time shooting a hotel in Dunhuang. The northern weather was as sunny as ever! Almost every day was a "crystal-clear sky," which was fantastic for the photography project! This shoot took place in mid-December 2024, during the coldest time of year. The warmest temperature during the day was -7 degrees Celsius, and at night it plummeted to -15 degrees Celsius! Waiting in the cold wind to shoot the exterior night view was truly difficult. Every minute felt like I was freezing to death outside. Overall, though, the sky was clear and the terrain was open. It had been a long time since I'd had such favorable conditions for a shoot. The hotel's facilities were also top-notch! Both the public areas and guest rooms were spacious, and the soft furnishings, as shown in the photos, featured extensive wood paneling and fabric upholstery. In addition, underfloor heating and humidifiers were provided, which are very practical in the cold and dry northwest. Besides work, Dunhuang is also worth visiting in winter. When I went there for a shoot in the summer of the same year, it was hot and stuffy, the scenic areas were crowded, and even tickets for the Mogao Caves, the most famous local attraction, had to be booked a month in advance. In winter, however, these attractions are basically accessible at any time. After finishing my shoot, I took the opportunity to visit Mingsha Mountain again. The scenic area was "deserted," which was a unique experience! Dunhuang is beautiful, and I hope to visit again. Gansu

🍽️ After the meal, I went to Xining Station to board the train. I felt a little nervous and excited. I wondered what the special train with such an expensive ticket would look like. The mysterious veil was finally unveiled at Platform 5 of Xining Station. 🚂 The paint on the exterior of the car is particularly in line with the color tone of the "Silk Road". The train steward said that it was designed and painted by the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, which makes it feel more luxurious. Entering the carriage, the classic European interior does give people a sense of ultimate luxury. I walked towards the front of the train to my own cabin 303 in carriage No. 3. I was shocked the moment I opened the door. It was completely different from the hard and soft sleepers I had sat in before. Although it was smaller than the cruise ship cabins, the luxury of the decoration was definitely better. The cabin had its own private bathroom and was equipped with a smart toilet. Although the Dyson hair dryer was completely useless for gourmets, I felt a good impression of it. Evian mineral water filled the entire cabinet, and when I opened the mini bar, there was a wide variety of drinks and snacks. 🍷 The first dinner on the train was also very much anticipated. The Western-style set meal was exquisitely presented, and the freshness of the ingredients made people sigh at the high quality. However, the most eye-catching thing was the sterling silver tableware. I secretly checked online and found that Alain Saint Joanis is a set of French century-old luxury plating brand. The selling price of knives, forks and spoons is about 10,000 RMB. According to the train operations director, the configuration of tableware alone on this train with only 80 passengers cost 3.5 million RMB, which is really surprising. In addition to the tableware mentioned above, the sterling silver wine glasses are antique utensils certified by the British government. 🌌 The 270-degree view carriage at the rear of the train is equipped with a starry sky ceiling, making people feel like they are wandering in the galaxy. Paired with a glass of Silk Road special cocktail, it is very pleasant. After breakfast on the second morning on the train, the train arrived at Golmud Station. The main attraction was the Qarhan Salt Lake, which is indeed a very photogenic place, but I believe that what you see with your eyes is more beautiful than what you record with a camera. The Daxiadan Station we arrived at in the afternoon was not very friendly to foreign tourists and we were not allowed to get off the bus. A little girl in our group had to stay on the bus with her father to enjoy English afternoon tea. ☕ Da Qaidam Station is only a 15-minute drive from the Emerald Lake Scenic Area, which is very close. Although they are both salt lakes, the photo effects should be completely different. For girls who love taking photos, staying there for a day would not be too long. People like me who don’t like taking photos can go to the camp to enjoy afternoon tea. The atmosphere in the camp is very good. There are free-range goats, white geese and black geese, and you can also ride horses for a walk. It is very suitable for parent-child activities. On the return journey back to Daxiadan Station, perhaps because the "Silk Road Dream" is the only passenger train that stops at the station, the waiting hall has fixed opening hours, and security checks only start 15 minutes before departure. The train moved slowly. Looking at the setting sun outside the window, the barren land looked a little desolate under the afterglow. Perhaps this is the autumn scenery that the Northwest should have.
