Gochang Seonunsa (Heaven of Flower Pots!)
The holy land of flowerpots! Seonunsa Temple in Gochang. I visited in early September, and since September-October is the season for flowerpots to bloom, I recommend going on an outing in the fall when the weather is nice! ❤️ I recommend using your own car.
Enjoy Seonunsa Temple to your heart's content, and while you're at it, eat some eel! I tasted the best eel ever. The price is around 40,000-50,000 won for two people, so you can eat your fill of wild eel.

There is also a large sheep farm in Gochang!
#Gochang_Alps🌿
#Sangha_Farm where you can see sheep running around on the green fields
Not only the ranch, but also the restaurant, cafe, farmer's village, and glamping
are all there, so half a day is not enough
and you should come for 1 night and 2 days to see everything!
We recommend a course where you can tour the ranch in the morning, experience milking,
have lunch with pasta and pizza at Sangha Kitchen,
and experience bread making & tour the workshop in the afternoon!
🐑Tip
We recommend visiting in the morning as the sunlight is hot in the afternoon and the sheep may go inside the ranch!

Jeonbuk Wanju Awon House. A place that was built and opened by Os Group over 5 years ago. I had high expectations because it is a place that takes a lot of pictures, and it really lives up to its reputation. The mountainside is so beautiful.
Accommodation costs 200,000 to 1 million won. The accommodation cost for old houses is higher than you think, but the fog on the mountainside that you see when you wake up in the morning is like a work of art... The coffee shop closes around 4 o'clock, so go when it closes.

Have you heard of a cafe full of pottery filled with the beauty of Korea?
A wide space filled with 4,000 pottery pieces,
A place where colorful flowers and blue skies come together!
I enjoyed my time here with gentle music, cool breeze, and green nature🌿
This breathtakingly magnificent place is also the filming location for the drama Kingdom:)
I recommend Gosrak, a unique cafe that you can only enjoy in Korea, as a travel destination in Jeolla-do!

A rising hot place, a trip to the quarry in Byeonsan Peninsula!
If I had to pick the most unique coast in our country,
I would pick Chaeseokgang on the Byeonsan Peninsula without a moment's hesitation!!
The cross-section of the huge strata that have been piled up since the Mesozoic Era
makes everyone who visits here gape😲
When I visited the rocky coast of Chaeseokgang during low tide, when nature allowed it,
I saw an unusually large amount of moss.
Despite receiving cold seawater twice a day with my whole body, the moss that tenaciously clung to the rocks
was vibrant and green in the square frame💚
P.S. The hottest place for photos of your life! Take a photo of your life at the sea cave photo zone on one side of the Byeonsan Peninsula📸

Hanging Out at Jeonju Arboretum
#summervacay Jeonju Arboretum in Jeollabuk-do is such a cool spot to just get away from the city buzz and soak up some fresh green vibes. The place is packed with all kinds of trees and plants, like a mini forest playground where you can wander around and forget about time.
The paths are easy and flat, perfect for a lazy stroll or even just sitting on a bench to watch the birds and squirrels do their thing. There are little signs here and there if you wanna geek out on plant facts, but honestly, just breathing in the fresh air was enough for me.
I loved how quiet and peaceful it was, no crowds, just nature doing its chill thing. It’s a great spot to bring a snack, take a break, or just walk around with zero stress. If you’re in Jeollabuk-do and need a green escape, Jeonju Arboretum’s got you covered!
Golden Vibes and Chill Strolls
#summervacay Checked out Geumsansa Temple in Gimje, and it was such a peaceful little adventure. The temple’s got this super calm energy, surrounded by trees and mountains that make you just wanna slow down and breathe it all in.
The buildings are beautiful, especially the main hall with the big golden Buddha. It felt both grand and totally down-to-earth at the same time. There’s history here, but it doesn’t feel heavy or overwhelming. Just super chill and kinda magical in its own quiet way.
The paths around the temple are easy to walk and perfect for wandering without a plan. I saw a few monks walking around, and the sound of the wooden temple bells in the breeze? Instant calm.
Geumsansa isn’t flashy or crowded, which made it even better. If you're into peaceful vibes, pretty architecture, and a dose of Korean history without the stress, this is your spot. Bring comfy shoes and let the place work its quiet magic.
A Sweet Walk by Okjeongho
#summervacay Stumbled across the rose garden near Okjeongho Lake and wow, it was such a lovely surprise! It’s not massive or over-the-top, but the colors and the lake backdrop made it feel like a peaceful little movie scene.
The roses were in full bloom when I went, and the air literally smelled like perfume. There are so many different colors, reds, pinks, yellows, and it’s all laid out so nicely for a casual stroll. No big hills, just easy paths and lots of photo spots if you’re into that.
You also get these sweet views of Okjeongho Lake in the background, which really adds to the charm. I took my time walking around, sat on a bench, and just soaked it all in. Super calm.
If you’re around Jeollabuk-do and want something relaxing and pretty (with minimal effort), this rose garden is such a good spot. Perfect for a date, a solo chill day, or even just a slow walk with your coffee.
Peace, Pines & Mountain Vibes at Gaeamsa Temple
#summervacay Tucked away in Buan, Gaeamsa Temple is the kind of spot that makes you wanna slow down and just breathe for a minute. It’s not one of those huge flashy temples, but that’s honestly what makes it feel so special, quiet, humble, and totally in sync with the nature around it.
The walk to the temple is peaceful, with trees lining the way and mountain views peeking through the branches. Once you get there, the whole area feels super calm, like nature and history just exist together in harmony. There’s this really cool old stone pagoda and some beautiful temple buildings that have that perfect weathered look.
Birds chirping, wind through the pines, the sound of your footsteps on stone, it’s got a whole vibe. If you keep wandering past the temple, there are also some trails that lead into the surrounding hills, perfect for a short hike or just a bit more exploring.
It’s not loud or crowded, just peaceful, simple, and quietly beautiful.
Epic Trails and Serenity
#summervacay Spent a memorable day hiking up to Manbokdae, and wow, this spot is something special. The trail offers that perfect balance of challenge and chill, steady climbs through dense forests that open up into breathtaking panoramic views. The fresh mountain air and peaceful surroundings make you forget all the daily stress.
Manbokdae itself is a gorgeous peak with sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and ridges stretching out endlessly. Along the way, the trail is well-marked and not too crowded, which makes the hike feel like a personal escape into nature. The variety of trees, rocks, and occasional wildflowers add extra charm to the journey.
If you’re up for a rewarding day out in one of Korea’s most iconic mountains, Manbokdae is a must-visit. Bring good hiking shoes, plenty of water, and maybe a camera, because you’ll want to remember these views forever!
Sky High and So Worth It
#summervacay Spent a full day exploring mountain in Muju, and it totally lived up to the hype. This place is massive, tons of trails, thick forests, wide-open ridges, and those dreamy panoramic views you never get tired of. The climb is definitely a workout, but the scenery keeps you motivated the whole way up. Wildflowers, chirping birds, and fresh mountain air, what’s not to love?
The peak, Hyangjeokbong, is where it all comes together. You’re standing above the clouds (literally if you’re lucky with the weather) and the surrounding peaks stretch out like a giant green ocean. There’s something about the wind up there that makes everything feel extra epic.
Also, shoutout to the cable car option if you’re not feeling the full hike, still gets you incredible views without the sweat. Whether you go full-on trekking or take the scenic route, Deogyusan delivers. Pack layers, a camera, and snacks, you’ll want to stay up there forever.
Red Mountain in Muju
#summervacay Took a random trip out to Red Mountain in Muju, and it was such a vibe. Not a super high peak or anything, but the name isn’t lying, there’s this reddish tint in the rocks and soil that gives the whole trail a unique look. Kinda felt like hiking on another planet at times.
The trail itself is super manageable. Starts with quiet forest paths, then opens up to rocky ridges with really solid views. You can see the Muju area stretched out below and some of the nearby mountains doing their thing in the distance.
There’s a peaceful, uncrowded feel to the whole hike. No big tour groups, no loud music, just nature sounds and the occasional “annyeonghaseyo” from fellow hikers. I brought a kimbap and some iced tea, found a spot near the summit, and just chilled for a bit.
If you’re in Jeollabuk-do and want something a little different with some color and peace, Red Mountain’s a solid pick.
Nine Peaks, One Chill Adventure
#summervacay Headed out to Gubongsan, and wow, what a cool little hike. The name literally means “Nine Peaks,” and yep, they weren’t lying. The trail kind of rolls along the ridge, hopping from one peak to the next like a fun little mountain obstacle course.
It’s not a super intense hike, but it does get your heart going in a few spots. There are some steep stairs and rocky bits, but nothing too wild. The views are the real highlight here, especially that wide-angle look at Maisan in the distance. Absolute stunner.
There were a few locals on the trail, super friendly as always, and the whole place had this peaceful, uncrowded vibe. I brought some snacks and just posted up on one of the peaks for a bit, best kind of rest stop.
Honestly, Gubongsan feels like a hidden gem. If you're in Jeollabuk-do and want a hike that’s fun, scenic, and not too much of a leg killer, this one’s a solid pick.
Campin’ Under the Stars at Buan’s Chill Spot
#summervacay Me and some buddies rolled up to Naeso Healing Campground in Buan‑gun, and it was total zen from the get-go. First off, the site is tucked right next to a gentle river + surrounded by lush trees, quiet vibes for days. We pitched tents right by the water, and the whole area feels super well-kept and cozy.
Instead of crowded picnic tables, it’s all about hammocks between trees, campfires at night, and that soft river-sound soundtrack. We grilled up some marinated meat, toasted marshmallows, and just hung out under the stars. Daytime? We took a quick stroll upstream, splashed around in shallow pools, and found a perfect little rock ledge for chilling with water at our feet.
The campground also has clean toilets, hot showers, and even a small convenience area for last-minute snacks. No fuss, no crazy rules, just a place to switch off and enjoy nature. If you’re craving a laid-back camping weekend near Buan, Naeso Healing Camp’s got the whole chill & reconnect package. Highly recommend bringing your favorite playlist and a good book!
Hiking Naebyeonsan
#summervacay Okay, Naebyeonsan in Buan-gun, totally blew me away. It’s like this perfect mix of coastal chill and mountain magic. One minute you’re walking through a breezy forest, and the next you’re catching ocean views from the ridgeline, seriously, how cool is that? The trails were super scenic and not too tough, though some parts had me puffin’ a bit (worth it though).
What’s awesome about Naebyeonsan is that it’s part of a national park, so the whole area’s really well-kept. I passed a couple of temples, some waterfalls, and even a spot that looked straight out of a painting. At the top, the view was just insane, ocean on one side, mountains on the other. Like, how do you even pick where to look?
Definitely bring snacks and a camera, and maybe hit up the beach after the hike to cool off. Nature overload in the best way possible. Naebyeonsan, you rock. Literally.
Wandering Around Anguksa
#summervacay Spent a slow afternoon exploring Anguksa Temple, and honestly, it was the perfect little reset. Tucked into the hillside with trees all around, the place just feels peaceful the moment you step in. No big crowds, no rush, just the sound of wind, birds, and the occasional temple bell echoing through the valley. Kinda magical.
The architecture is simple but beautiful, with all the classic colors and details that make Korean temples so cool to look at. I wandered around the courtyard, checked out the old stone pagodas, and even sat under a pine tree for a bit just to soak it all in. The mountain backdrop makes everything feel extra calm, like time slows down for a while.
It’s not a huge place, but that’s the charm. It’s quiet, humble, and perfect if you want a peaceful escape. If you’re ever nearby and just wanna breathe, reflect, or vibe out in nature with a little history, Anguksa’s your spot.
Forest Trails and Heroic Views in Wanju
#summervacay Took a chill hike up Janggunbong Peak in Wanju and it was such a cool mix of peaceful forest and epic mountain energy. The trail kicks off under this thick canopy of trees, all shady and quiet, perfect for zoning out and just walking. The path is pretty well-kept, not too steep, but still gives your legs a little challenge now and then.
As you climb higher, the views start peeking through the trees, rolling mountains, scattered villages, and that fresh, wide-open sky. The peak itself has this cool rugged feel, with rocks and wind and a solid view that makes the climb totally worth it. There’s a little monument up top that gives off those “mountain guardian” vibes, pretty fitting for a place called Janggunbong, aka “General Peak.”
Hung out at the top for a bit, snacked, took a deep breath, and just soaked it all in. Super peaceful. If you’re into lowkey hikes with high-reward views, Wanju’s Janggunbong is a solid pick.
Seonyabong Camping Site
#summervacay Spent the day (and night!) around Seonyabong Camping Site, and it was such a cozy little escape. The campground itself is super laid-back, surrounded by trees, with that piney fresh forest smell in the air. Set up the tent, made some coffee, and just leaned into the slow pace. Zero stress.
The hiking trail nearby was mellow but beautiful. Lots of shade, soft dirt paths, and little wooden signs guiding the way. It’s not a hardcore hike, more like a relaxing stroll through the woods with a few fun ups and downs. At the top of Seonyabong, the view’s not super dramatic, but you get this peaceful overlook that just makes you want to sit and breathe for a while.
After the hike, headed back down to grill up some dinner and hang out by the fire. Crickets, stars, and good vibes all around. If you’re into simple nature trips with light hiking and max chill, Seonyabong’s got you covered.
Bonghwasan Rhododendron Complex
#summervacay Decided to check out the Bonghwasan Rhododendron Complex in Jangsu and total spring dream. The hike up Bonghwasan was super chill, nothing too intense, just a steady walk with lots of chances to stop and take in the views. As you get closer to the rhododendron area, it’s like stepping into a pink-and-purple wonderland. Flowers everywhere, just blooming like they’re showing off. Couldn’t stop taking pics, honestly.
The vibe was really peaceful, families, solo hikers, a few couples doing the whole cute matching outfit thing. Trails were well-marked, and there were plenty of places to stop, sit, snack, and just soak it all in. It’s not one of those hikes where you’re dying by the end, it’s more about the scenery and chill atmosphere. The air smelled like flowers and pine, and it just felt good to be out there. If you’re ever near Jangsu in spring, this spot is a must. Come for the flowers, stay for the peace.
Temple Trails
#summervacay If you're looking for a super chill hike with some peaceful temple energy, Anguksa in Jeonbuk totally delivers. Tucked away in the hills near Gochang, this spot gives you the perfect mix of forest trails, mountain air, and cultural feels. The hike isn’t hardcore, just enough to get your legs moving and your lungs filled with that fresh piney breeze. As you go up, you'll pass quiet groves and hear the occasional woodpecker doing its thing. Then, Anguksa appears like a scene from a historical drama.
The temple itself is small but beautiful, surrounded by trees and full of that old-school Korean charm. You might catch a monk walking around or the soft echo of a bell. Bring snacks and chill on one of the benches while soaking in the view, major zen vibes. Honestly, it’s one of those places that just hits different. No crowds, just nature and quiet. A solid reset if you’re burnt out or just need a break from the buzz.
Chillin’ in Nature’s Backyard
#summervacay Took a little escape to Muju’s Gucheondong Valley, and total nature therapy! This spot is like Korea’s hidden backyard with crystal-clear water, chunky rock formations, and trails that feel like a peaceful dream. I didn’t come with a grand hiking plan, just vibes, snacks, and curiosity. The trail runs right alongside the stream, and yeah, I totally dipped my feet in, cold but so worth it.
You’ve got waterfalls popping up here and there, birds doing their thing, and the air? So fresh it felt like my lungs were saying thank you. Ran into a few friendly hikers and families, all just vibing with nature. The best part? That mix of dense forest shade and the sound of water following you the whole way.
If you ever need a low-key adventure with max chill, Gucheondong Valley is a gem. No pressure, no hustle, just you, the water, and the trees. Will 100% go back with a picnic next time.
Hyangno-bong Hits Different
#summervacay Hiking up Hyangno-bong (aka Hyanglobong depending on who you ask) was such a chill yet rewarding day. This one isn’t about insane staircases or heart-pounding climbs, it’s more of a “walk, breathe, vibe” kinda mountain, and I loved that. The trail weaves through quiet forest at first, super shady and peaceful with birds chirping and that fresh mountain smell everywhere.
As you get higher, the trees open up and views for days. Rolling ridgelines, little villages way down below, and sky that just feels extra wide. There’s something super calming about this mountain. It doesn’t scream for attention, it just kinda... lets you enjoy the moment.
The summit’s got a chill rock area perfect for stretching out, snacking, and just soaking it all in. Not too many people around either, which made it feel even more special.
If you’re in the mood for a quiet, feel-good hike with just the right amount of effort, Hyangno-bong is absolutely worth the trek. Total nature recharge.
Baekambong & Namdeok Bring the Views
#summervacay Baekambong and Namdeok were such a fun duo to hike. It’s like two mountains for the price of one, what’s not to love? The trail starts out nice and forest-y, with birds doing their thing and that earthy smell that instantly puts you in hiking mode.
Baekambong comes first, and it’s a solid warm-up. Nothing too brutal, just a steady climb with some cool rock formations and little clearings where you can catch glimpses of the ridgelines ahead. Then comes the ridge walk to Namdeok, and that’s where the real magic hits.
The views? Insane. Open skies, rolling peaks, and that classic Korean mountain layering that makes everything look like a painting. The ridge isn’t too tough, but it definitely makes you feel like an adventurer. Namdeok’s summit is breezy and open—perfect for a snack break with a view.
It’s a solid day hike, not too crowded, and super rewarding. Baekambong + Namdeok? Total win. Bring snacks, take your time, and enjoy the double dose of awesome.
Sky Feels and Ridge Strolls
#summervacay Unjangsan seriously surprised me, in the best way. I didn’t know much going in, just that it’s tucked in the Jeolla region and not super famous, but wow. The trail starts off pretty mellow with shady forest vibes, birds chirping, and that peaceful, clean air you only get deep in the mountains.
Then you hit the ridge and everything just opens up. Rolling green hills, mountains stretching out forever, and if you're lucky, a sea of clouds below you. It’s one of those spots where you just wanna stop, take a deep breath, and do absolutely nothing for a while.
The hike’s not super intense, but it does have a few spots that'll get your legs working. Totally manageable though, even if you’re just out for a relaxed adventure. There are wooden decks and view points scattered along the way, perfect for snack breaks and selfies.
If you're craving peaceful trails, wide open skies, and major nature vibes, Unjangsan hits all the right notes.
