Durian Moments in the Hills: My Visit to Rimba by Dking near Genting
Driving up the Karak Highway from Kuala Lumpur, Rimba by Dking appears unexpectedly amidst lush greenery—a durian orchard and café nestled beside the highway with photogenic giant durian replicas hinting at what lies inside.
I arrived on a weekend hoping to catch the durian buffet. It’s a set-time, pay-per-head affair where trays arrive loaded with seasonal varieties like Musang King, D24, XO, Red Prawn and sometimes rare ones like Black Thorn. For around RM48–68 per person, you get one hour of durian indulgence—more pricey but worth it if it’s peak season.
I joined a group session held outdoors on shaded wooden decking. The air felt crisp and slightly fruity around each durian tray. Opening each fruit revealed dense, buttery flesh in golden hues—creamy Musang King stood out, while others carried gentler sweetness or mild bitterness. Conversation slowed as we compared tastes and textures, and cool drinks and ice cream treats offered welcome contrast afterward.
The site feels like more than just a fruit stall—it has farm trails around small ponds, a café serving durian desserts and drinks, and glamping pods for a rustic overnight stay. You can even try pond fishing or karaoke under a simple pavilion if you swing that way. The grounds are quiet and shaded, a refreshing break amid the heat and turnoffs of a roadside stop.
Rimba by Dking isn’t polished fine dining—it’s a grounded, playful durian experience with nature vibes and hands‑on opportunity to sample premium Malaysian varieties. If you’re exploring Genting Highlands and the peak-season fruit is calling, the orchard is a delightfully different way to dig into the king of fruits.

Hidden Gem Camping Spot in Malaysia — Pure Bliss with Almost No Crowd! 🌿✨
#springitinerary
Who would’ve thought Malaysia hides such a stunning, peaceful camping spot? The air here is incredibly fresh and pure, the sky so blue and clear, and all around you hear the soothing sounds of insects singing their natural lullabies. 🌳🐛
What surprised me most — even though this place is deep in the jungle — the toilets are amazingly clean! When I visited, there were hardly any people, so it felt like I had the whole place all to myself. It’s truly breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset when a soft mist wraps the whole landscape in a magical glow. 🌅🌫️
This isn’t like the crowded camping spots around KL. Here, you really feel embraced by nature’s beauty and the vast open space. For all the camping lovers (CAMPING KAKI!), trust me on this — it’s a different vibe from city camping.
The spot even has a dedicated kitchen area for you to use, depending on the package you choose. I stayed solo, and they provided a private single room with its own bathroom — perfect for privacy and comfort! Highly recommend for anyone craving a nature escape without the noise and hustle. 🏕️💚

🌳 Family gatherings with largest DURIAN in 🇲🇾!

During our family trip to Bentong, we explored this durian cafe/restaurant near Karak.
Rimba by Dking is a cafe filled with lush greenery in nature and serves a variety of western and Malaysian food. What you could not miss is their Durian Ais Kacang and Cendol, an interesting match! We went during the off season of durian so didn’t manage to enjoy local Musang king and D24, only durian from Thailand.
Don’t forget to take a picture with the largest durian replica in Malaysia that is honoured by Malaysia book of Records! Overall it’s a good dining place for family gathering and should be on your list to Bentong/karak!
