#summervacay Checked out Wat Khao Yoi in Phetchaburi and didn’t expect it to be this cool! It’s part cave, part temple, part mountain, and super peaceful. The main attraction is inside a cave, with Buddha statues tucked into little corners and alcoves. It’s not huge, but the atmosphere is so calm and kinda mysterious. Climbing up the stairs gives you a nice little leg workout, but the view from the top is really worth it. You get a pretty sweet look at the town and surrounding greenery. Plus, the temple itself is beautifully simple, not too flashy, and barely crowded. It felt like one of those quiet places locals go for peace, not just tourists. There were a few monkeys hanging around (because, Thailand), but they weren’t too aggressive, just curious. The vibe overall was super chill, a perfect break from busier spots. If you’re road-tripping through Phetchaburi, totally stop here. It’s got charm, caves, views, and just the right dose of adventure.

Phetchaburi Province is located about an hour and a half away from Bangkok. Upon arrival, you'll find a stunning province filled with mountains, caves, waterfalls, and even the sea. It's truly a destination that offers a complete range of attractions. This time, we visited Wat Khao Yoi in Phetchaburi Province. Whenever we travel to the beach, we always pass by the sign for Wat Khao Yoi but never stopped to visit. This was our first time here, and we were absolutely amazed by the beauty of the temple and the Khao Yoi Cave. We couldn't help but wonder why we hadn't come sooner. The temple is incredibly beautiful, featuring a teakwood chapel with a mountain backdrop. After paying respects at the temple, we drove just 800 meters to Khao Yoi Cave. Inside the cave, the atmosphere is cool and refreshing, and there's even an elevator for wheelchair users. The cave houses a replica of the Buddha's footprint, statues of King U-Thong, the Reclining Buddha, Guan Yin, and many other revered figures. 🏖️ Environment/Facilities: Parking is available at the temple.

Feed the fish in a relaxed atmosphere. 11:30 – Have lunch at “Pen Phrik Phet” A famous Phetchaburi noodle shop. If you come during mealtime, you will have to wait in line. They do not accept reservations and accept cash only. 13:00 – When you come to the city of sweets, you must try the dessert shops. There are many to choose from in the city, such as the Big Ice Cream shop, homemade ice cream served in a lunchbox. The must-try flavor is the Tan Tonod flavor, a famous Phetchaburi dish. You will definitely have fun! 18:30 – Dinner at a restaurant by the Kaeng Krachan Dam. There are many restaurants to choose from. One restaurant that I highly recommend because it tastes really good is the water chestnut fish head hot pot. The price is good and it is very worthwhile. 20:00 – Return to the accommodation. For this trip, we chose to stay at The Tree Riverside, a place by the Phetchaburi River with a lot of green space and places to sit and relax.
