All Trip Moments about Lake Garda
My first love - Lago di Garda ❤️
#lakes
This summer, I spent an unforgettable day at Lake Garda in Italy, and it was nothing short of magical! We started our visit in the picturesque town of Sirmione, known for its charming streets and the impressive Scaliger Castle. The entrance fee to the castle was about €8, and climbing to the top rewarded us with stunning panoramic views of the lake.
After exploring the castle, we took a stroll through the town, enjoying gelato from a local shop as we wandered along the lake’s edge. The clear, blue waters of Lake Garda were so inviting that we couldn’t resist renting a small boat for an hour (around €40). Cruising on the lake with the mountains in the distance was a highlight of the trip.
Later, we visited the thermal baths at Aquaria (entry €36), where we relaxed in the warm, healing waters while gazing out at the lake. As the day ended, we found a cozy lakeside restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal as the sun set over the water.
Lake Garda is a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and Italian charm. It’s a destination I’ll never forget! 🚤🍦 #trip #LakeGarda #ItalianLakes #Sirmione #ScenicViews #SummerGetaway

🚗🇮🇹 Ditching Venice & Milan for Verona & Lake Garda!
#summervacay
We decided to skip the crowds and potential pickpockets in Milan and Venice! As soon as we picked up our rental car, we headed straight for Verona, and from there, embarked on an unforgettable journey around Lake Garda.
Driving along the crystal-blue waters was pure bliss! We easily avoided the main tourist hordes, truly soaking in the authentic Italian lake district lifestyle and local vibe. The scenic ring road offered incredible views at every turn, letting us pull over and snap photos whenever we pleased – it was incredibly relaxing! 🏞️📸
Our first stop from Verona was the breathtaking cliffside church, Madonna della Corona. This church is literally embedded into a vertical cliff face – it's an absolutely spectacular sight (as seen in Photo 1)! Getting there involves walking a pilgrimage path, but don't worry, it's not a difficult trek.
If you're looking for an Italian adventure that combines stunning natural beauty with a more local, relaxed pace, the Verona and Lake Garda region is an absolute must-do!

Malcesine
Malcesine, a picturesque town located on the shores of Lake Garda, one of Italy's most famous lakes. This time, we stayed in Limone Sul Garda, another beautiful town by Lake Garda. Limone Sul Garda has a harbor that offers ferry services to various towns around Lake Garda. We chose to visit Malcesine because it is the closest town to Limone Sul Garda, taking only about 40 minutes by ferry to reach. Alternatively, visitors can come directly to Malcesine, as the town has convenient parking facilities for those traveling by car. Malcesine boasts vibrant colors and the charming atmosphere typical of Italian lakeside towns, making it a perfect spot for stunning photographs. If you're visiting Italy and have some time, I highly recommend exploring this town or touring the surrounding towns of Lake Garda, as every town around the lake is beautiful.

A Fairy Tale on Water: The Scaligero Castle of Lake Garda!
Lake Garda (Lago di Garda), Italy's largest lake, nestles at the southern foot of the Alps with its crystal-clear waters embraced by rolling mountains. Formed by glacial melting, this breathtaking wonder is a beloved vacation paradise for Europeans.
The most awe-inspiring sight on the lake is undoubtedly the Scaligero Castle (Rocca Scaligera)—a medieval fortress that seems to have emerged straight from a fairy tale! Built in the 13th century, it has stood tall for 800 years through wind and rain.
This aquatic stronghold is surrounded by water on three sides, with only one side connected to land, making it appear like a floating fortress. Its towering turrets and distinctive swallow-tailed battlements (Merlo) showcase its formidable military defense. Once a crucial naval base controlling key lake routes, it held immense strategic importance.
On our journey from Venice to Milan, we paused by Lake Garda. Standing on a peninsula stretching into the heart of the lake, we gazed at the castle's reflection shimmering in the azure waters—a scene straight out of a medieval painting. This "castle on water" stands as a witness to history, a glittering gem on Lake Garda, like a fairy tale world brought to life!

Visit the Italian lakes Lake Garda
#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
Everyone is familiar with Lake Como in Italy. Although it is truly beautiful, it is full of tourists. On weekends, it is so crowded that it is uncomfortable. So, we would like to recommend another lake that is not far away because it is also in the Lombardy region, but on the Brescia side. This lake is called Lake Garda, where artists in the past liked to come to relax during the summer. This inspired many paintings and music works.
This area is called Desenzano, near Desenzano train station. It is not difficult to get to. You can come to walk around, buy handicrafts or local food in the market, stop by a cool cafe/restaurant, or even go swimming if the water is not too cold.

Passionate Italian Journey (3) The Dazzling Pearl of Northern Italy - Lake Garda
Lake Garda
April 22, 2025 (Day 2 continued)
Leaving Milan, we drove 130 kilometers to Lake Garda.
Lake Garda (Image 1), located at the southern foothills of the Alps, halfway between Milan and Venice, is Italy's largest and cleanest lake.
Lake Garda, with its mild climate and unique water temperature (suitable for swimming from May to September), sun-drenched beaches and well-equipped small ports, palm trees and oleanders, olive trees and grapevines, appears like a sea nestled between the Po Valley and the Alps (Image 2).
Towns are scattered around the lake, and visitors can take boat trips to enjoy the lake views.
In the harbor of Sirmione, many yachts are docked to serve tourists (Image 3). We took a small boat around Sirmione, circling the lake to admire the intoxicating scenery of this beautiful lakeside town from the water (Images 4-5).
The town of Sirmione is situated on a very tiny, narrow peninsula on the southern shore of Lake Garda, extending about 4 kilometers into the lake. Its exceptional location makes Sirmione stand out among the towns around Lake Garda, becoming a leisure destination that still retains the traditional Italian cultural atmosphere (Images 6-7).
The town's landmark, Scaliger Castle (Scaligerburg), built in the 13th century, is a must-visit attraction. Standing on the central tower of the ancient castle, you can feel the intertwining of historical richness and natural beauty (Images 8-9).
Tonight we're staying in Verona, and tomorrow we'll head to the Dolomites.

Spent 3 days at Garda lake 🇮🇹
#italytrip
Spending three days at Lake Garda in Italy was an absolute dream! 🏞️ This stunning lake, surrounded by picturesque towns, lush mountains, and olive groves, is perfect for anyone looking to relax and soak up the natural beauty of Italy. On my first day, I explored Sirmione, a charming town located on a narrow peninsula that stretches out into the lake. The Scaliger Castle, with its impressive moat, is a must-visit. Entry was about €6, and the views from the top were breathtaking! 🏰 Afterward, I took a dip in the thermal waters at Aquaria Thermal Spa, which was the perfect way to unwind.
Day two was all about adventure! I took a ferry to Malcesine and went up Monte Baldo on the cable car (around €22 round trip). The ride offered panoramic views of the lake and the Alps that were simply unforgettable. 🌄 At the top, I did some light hiking and even paragliding for the first time – what a thrill! Later, I strolled through Malcesine’s medieval streets, enjoying gelato and shopping for souvenirs. 🍦
On my last day, I visited Riva del Garda, on the northern tip of the lake. The atmosphere here was more laid-back. I rented a bike and rode along the scenic trails by the water, then relaxed with a delicious seafood lunch at a lakeside restaurant. The combination of crystal-clear water, historic towns, and outdoor activities makes Lake Garda the perfect getaway! 🌅 #trip #LakeGarda #ItalyAdventure #Sirmione #MonteBaldo #LakesideLiving

#summerdestinations
My trip to Lake Garda this summer was absolutely stunning! 🌅 The entrance fee to visit the lake area is free, but we did splurge a bit on a boat rental which cost us around €50 for an hour—a bit pricey but totally worth it for the views! The crystal-clear water, surrounded by mountains, makes it feel like a little piece of paradise. The small towns like Sirmione and Limone sul Garda were charming with their narrow streets and beautiful architecture. 🌿
We also visited the Grottoes of Catullus, which had an entrance fee of about €6, giving us a glimpse into ancient Roman history. The area is full of cozy cafes and gelato shops, perfect for taking a break from the summer heat. The nearby Gardaland amusement park is great if you’re traveling with kids or just want some thrill rides 🎢.
Overall, Lake Garda was a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. The sunsets alone are worth the trip, and I’d go back in a heartbeat! 😍
