Lisbon travel guide and discussion

Perched on the highest granite peak of the Sintra Mountains, the National Palace of Pena (Palácio Nacional da Pena) was commissioned in the 1840s by King Ferdinand II as a royal summer residence over the ruins of a 16th-century Hieronymite monastery. The design combines Romanticism, Neo-Manueline, Neo-Gothic, and Moorish architectural styles, characterized by vivid ochre, terracotta, and pastel yellow towers rising above a protected 200-hectare forested park. The Queen’s Terrace & Clock Tower: Walk along the outer red and yellow battlements overlooking the valley floor. On clear mornings, you can trace the Atlantic coastline all the way to Cabo da Roca; on misty days, the clouds roll directly over the stone parapets and the sundial clock tower. Triton’s Gate (Porta do Tritão): One of the most famous architectural details of the exterior facade. This ornate allegorical arch features an aggressive half-man, half-fish sea monster carved from stone, emerging from an oversized conch shell beneath a grapevine canopy to symbolize the creation of the world. The Royal Interior Chambers: A one-way walking route guides visitors through preserved 19th-century royal living quarters. Notable spaces include the Saxon Porcelain Room, the Arab Room with trompe-l'œil wall frescoes, and the Great Hall featuring stained glass imported from Nuremberg. Cruz Alta (The High Cross Viewpoint): Located a 20-minute uphill forest walk from the palace gates within the surrounding park. Situated at the absolute highest point of the Sintra range (528 meters), this simple stone cross provides the classic wide-angle view looking directly across the forest canopy at the palace profile. Chalet of the Countess of Edla: Set in the western quarter of the grounds, this alpine-style timber and cork residence was built by Ferdinand II and his second wife. It sits surrounded by fern valleys, exotic tree collections, and quiet woodland footpaths that bypass the crowds of the main palace terraces. Strict Timed Entry System (Crucial Planning): The palace operates on a strict timed-slot reservation model for the palace interior. If your ticket says 10:30 AM, you must physically reach the turnstile of the palace building at that exact time (there is only a short grace period). Crucially, the main park entrance gate sits at the bottom of the hill. It takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes to clear the outer gate and walk uphill through the gardens to the palace doors. If you prefer to save your legs, pay €3 for the official internal hop-on shuttle bus that runs between the park gate and the upper palace entrance. If you only want to photograph the colorful exterior walls, battlements, and chapel, buy the cheaper "Park Only" ticket, which grants full access to the terraces and grounds without the timed interior queue. Getting Here from Lisbon: Take the CP commuter train from Lisbon Rossio Station directly to Sintra Station (runs every 20 minutes; journey time is roughly 40 minutes). From Sintra Station, do not attempt to drive a rental car up the mountain; private vehicle traffic is barred along the Estrada da Pena. Instead, take the official 434 tourist loop bus (Scotturb) directly outside the station, which winds up the mountain pass to the palace gate. Alternatively, licensed tuk-tuks and shared taxis wait outside the station. Weather & Microclimate: The Sintra hills possess a cool, humid Atlantic microclimate that differs significantly from downtown Lisbon. Even during warm summer afternoons, heavy sea fog, sudden wind chills, and moisture can settle over the high terraces; keep a light windbreaker or jacket in your daypack. Timing Strategy: Book the earliest entry slot of the day (09:30 AM) or visit in the late afternoon after 04:00 PM when the organized day-tour buses begin heading back toward Lisbon. #PenaPalace #Sintra #VisitPortugal #PalacioDaPena #LisbonDayTrip #PortugalTravel #Romanticism #TripMoments #travel2026#travel#myitinerary

Portugal is a wonderful destination for a family holiday, combining golden beaches, fairytale castles, historic trams, ocean adventures, and delicious food. It’s a great choice for children who love exploring, discovering nature, and having fun! ⭕️Essential tips for parents⭕️ 📆 Best time: May–June or September for pleasant sightseeing and generally warmer beach weather. 🌆 Getting around: Public transport works well in Lisbon and Porto; a rental car is useful for exploring the Algarve. With toddlers: Choose accommodation near transport, beaches, or restaurants. Lisbon has steep hills and cobbled streets, so a lightweight stroller or baby carrier can help. Food: Try pastel de nata, grilled fish, fresh fruit, and simple rice dishes. Budget: Book popular attractions and family accommodation in advance, especially during school holidays. #portugal #lisbon #kidsfun #travel #europetrip #citydaytours #kidstravel #familytravel #familyfun #thingstodo #naturalwonders #localfood #attractive #exploresgtogether

There’s something special about Lisbon that’s hard to explain until you experience it yourself. Maybe it’s the colorful buildings covered in traditional azulejo tiles, the iconic yellow trams climbing steep streets, or the golden sunlight reflecting off the Tagus River. Whatever it is, this city has a charm that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every moment. ✨ I loved wandering through the narrow streets of Alfama, discovering hidden viewpoints, admiring the architecture, and stopping for a taste of Portugal’s famous pastéis de nata. Every neighborhood seemed to have its own personality, blending old-world charm with a relaxed, modern lifestyle. And as the sun began to set, Lisbon turned into a beautiful mix of warm colors, music, and unforgettable views. 🌅🎶 📍 Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹 Some cities impress you with their landmarks, but Lisbon wins you over through its atmosphere. A little history, a little adventure, and a lot of moments worth remembering. ❤️🌍 #Lisbon #Portugal #VisitLisbon

Portugal looks simple on a rail map—but Lisbon’s hills, Sintra’s timed monuments, Porto’s slopes and the real hotel-to-hotel transfer can make one week feel much shorter than expected. This route uses: 7 FULL USABLE DAYS Arrive in Lisbon before Day 1 and depart from Porto after Day 7. The cleanest structure is: · Lisbon — 5 nights · Porto — 3 nights · 2 accommodation bases · 1 hotel change · 1 Sintra day trip · 1 Lisbon–Porto rail transfer The goal is not to fit every famous place into one week. It is to create a route that still works after hills, meals, luggage, queues, weather and ordinary tiredness are counted. ## 🇵🇹 Day 1 — Historic Lisbon Start higher in Chiado and descend into Baixa. Use Baixa for a proper coffee, lunch or recovery block rather than treating it as somewhere to walk through quickly. Later, take a tram, bus, taxi or ride-hail to one practical upper-Alfama entry point, then explore selected lanes downhill. A balanced sequence is: Chiado → Baixa recovery → transport to upper Alfama → downhill exploration → dinner in Alfama or central Lisbon Do not turn the day into one continuous circuit through: · Chiado · Baixa · Bairro Alto · Alfama · several viewpoints · a full tram route Lisbon’s best walking sections are not the same as walking every hill. ### Lower-energy version Use: · Chiado and Baixa · one transported viewpoint · a shorter Alfama descent · transport back to the hotel ## 🏛️ Day 2 — Belém Treat Belém as a dedicated western-Lisbon day. Build the route around one principal reservation. Choose: · Jerónimos Monastery; or · Belém Tower when current access suits the itinerary Then add one secondary layer: · a major museum · riverside landmarks · or a slower waterfront walk Do not assume every monument, museum and waterfront attraction fits comfortably into the same day. A realistic structure is: Morning — one principal interior Afternoon — one museum or outdoor riverside layer Evening — return to central Lisbon for dinner Days 1, 2 and 4 may be reordered around: · current closure days · timed-entry availability · restoration or access changes · weather · energy The itinerary keeps the Belém role fixed—not necessarily the weekday. ## 🌲 Day 3 — Sintra The strongest first-timer plan is: · one principal monument · historic-centre lunch · town time · return to Lisbon ### Standard Pena-led day Morning: · train from Rossio to Sintra · local hill transport · timed Pena Palace visit Afternoon: · lunch in the historic centre · town exploration · return to Lisbon Do not add another major monument by default. ### Town-led alternative Choose: · Quinta da Regaleira; or · Sintra National Palace Then add: · historic-centre time · lunch · an earlier return to Lisbon This version is stronger when: · visibility is poor · the traveller wants simpler transport · hill access is disrupted · a lower-energy day is preferred ### Active version Pena Palace + Moorish Castle Use only with: · an early start · suitable weather · strong walking ability · separately confirmed access and reservations Do not automatically combine Sintra with: · Cabo da Roca · Cascais · Monserrate · Regaleira · several hill monuments A successful Sintra day protects one major experience instead of collecting attractions. ## ☕ Day 4 — Lisbon Flex Day Keep this day movable. It is not an empty day. It protects the complete itinerary against: · poor Sintra visibility · monument closures · timed-entry changes · arrival fatigue · accumulated hill load · wet or very hot weather Use it for: · one museum · one nearby neighbourhood · food and café time · a waterfront section · a lower-energy Lisbon day · or a Sintra weather swap When Day 4 has better Sintra conditions: Move Sintra to Day 4 and use Day 3 for Lisbon. Do not delete the flex day simply to add Coimbra, the Douro Valley or another day trip. Flexibility is part of the itinerary—not unused time. ## 🚆 Day 5 — Lisbon to Porto Treat this as a real hotel-to-hotel transfer day. Choose a practical daylight train that protects both: · a calm Lisbon checkout; and · a low-pressure Porto arrival Do not assume the earliest train is automatically the strongest option. Count the full transfer: · breakfast · hotel checkout · travel to the station shown on the ticket · boarding and luggage · the rail journey · arrival at Campanhã where applicable · onward transport to the hotel · check-in · food and recovery After arrival, keep the evening light. Choose one: · Aliados or Bolhão · São Bento surroundings · a simple dinner near the hotel · a riverfront meal reached by transport Do not prebook: · a tight afternoon attraction · a long historic-centre walk · a fixed cellar visit immediately after arrival When the train or hotel transfer runs late: Check in → eat nearby → move the introduction to Day 6 or Day 7 The value of the transfer day is a calm Porto arrival—not maximum sightseeing. ## 🌉 Day 6 — Historic Porto Start higher in the city and finish beside the river. ### Morning — Upper Porto Use: · Bolhão or Aliados · the São Bento area · one historic or cultural priority ### Afternoon — Descend to Ribeira Use: · selected historic streets · a riverfront meal · slower time beside the Douro ### Evening Choose one: · remain in Ribeira · cross once to Gaia · or move a cellar experience to Day 7 Gaia is optional. Do not make the day depend on: · repeated bridge crossings · several viewpoints · another climb back to the upper centre · a compulsory late cellar booking ### Lower-energy version Upper-centre start → controlled downhill route → Ribeira → return by metro, taxi or ride-hail Porto works best as one deliberate descent—not a hill-to-river shuttle. ## 🌊 Day 7 — Porto Depth or Porto Coast Keep the final day local. ### Option A — Porto depth Choose: · food or market time · one cultural interior · a slower central neighbourhood · Gaia or a cellar experience omitted from Day 6 ### Option B — Porto Coast In suitable weather, use: · Foz · Atlantic scenery · a lower-density local afternoon Foz is west of central Porto and remains part of the Porto stay. It is not another regional base. ### Poor-weather option Use: · a museum · indoor culture · food and café time · shorter central walking · metro or taxi movement Do not add a full Douro Valley day to the standard seven-day route. Porto deserves two complete local days after the transfer. ## 🛏️ Where should you stay? The route works best with only two accommodation bases. ### Lisbon — Baixa or lower Chiado The strongest general operating base. Best for: · central sightseeing · Rossio–Sintra access · dining · lower-gradient movement Check: · exact lift access · street noise · vehicle pickup ### Lisbon — Avenida or Restauradores A lower-friction alternative. Best for: · metro · taxis · luggage · wider-road access Trade-off: Less old-quarter atmosphere outside the door. ### Lisbon — Alfama Choose for historic atmosphere. Check carefully: · stairs · cobbles · lift access · luggage handling · vehicle access · noise ### Porto — Baixa, Aliados or Bolhão The strongest general Porto base. Best for: · metro access · dining · starting walking days higher in the city · easier evening returns ### Porto — Ribeira Choose for riverfront atmosphere. Check: · uphill return · cobbled access · lift availability · luggage · vehicle pickup The most atmospheric address is not always the easiest operating base. ## ✈️ Open jaw or return to Lisbon? The cleanest seven-day flight structure is: Arrive Lisbon → depart Porto This avoids another intercity rail journey. The complete route can also run in reverse: Arrive Porto → depart Lisbon Reverse the full day order and keep Sintra inside the Lisbon block. When the international flight departs from Lisbon after starting in Lisbon and finishing in Porto, use: Day 8 — Porto to Lisbon gateway or place the return rail journey and Lisbon gateway night outside the seven advertised usable days. Returning to Lisbon inside Day 7 means: · Porto loses its second full local day · another intercity transfer is added · the route becomes less balanced Seven full usable days protect the open-jaw version. Eight usable days are stronger when Lisbon must remain the final gateway. ## ✂️ Five-day cut-down With only five full usable days, choose depth or two cities. ### Strongest general option — Lisbon + Sintra Use: · Historic Lisbon · Belém · Sintra · Lisbon depth · one flexible Lisbon module Benefits: · one accommodation base · no intercity luggage move · strong weather flexibility ### Two-city alternative — Lisbon + Porto Use: · Lisbon — 2 full days · transfer — 1 day · Porto — 2 full days Requirement: Omit Sintra. Do not pretend that five usable days provide full Lisbon, Sintra and Porto depth. ## ➕ Nine-day upgrade Use the two extra days for one clear priority. ### Option A — Deeper Lisbon + Porto The strongest general upgrade. Use: · Lisbon city — 4 days · Sintra — 1 day · transfer — 1 day · Porto city — 3 days Best for: · slower travel · food and museums · uncertain weather · families · travellers avoiding early full-day excursions ### Option B — Add the Douro Valley Use: · Lisbon city — 3 days · Sintra — 1 day · transfer — 1 day · Porto city — 3 days · Douro — 1 full day Choose this only when the valley itself is a priority. A full Douro day is a separate regional excursion—not a short Porto waterfront cruise. ### Option C — Add Coimbra Use the real sequence: Lisbon → Coimbra-B → city and university → Coimbra-B → Porto This requires: · luggage planning · station-to-city transport · timed-entry planning · acceptance of a long transfer-sightseeing day Coimbra-B is not the university. ### Option D — Stay overnight in Sintra Choose this only when: · Sintra receives two sightseeing days · a third accommodation base is acceptable · Porto or Douro depth is reduced Do not combine: · the Douro · Coimbra · and a Sintra overnight merely because nine days make them technically possible. ## 📌 The complete route Before Day 1 — Arrive in Lisbon Day 1 — Historic Lisbon Day 2 — Belém Day 3 — Sintra Day 4 — Lisbon Flex Day Day 5 — Lisbon to Porto Day 6 — Historic Porto Day 7 — Porto depth or Porto Coast After Day 7 — Depart from Porto For a Lisbon-return flight: Add Day 8 or place the gateway return outside the seven usable days. ## Book first · practical Lisbon and Porto accommodation · Lisbon–Porto intercity rail · one fixed Sintra monument · major timed attractions ## Check close to travel · train service and departure station · rail disruption or engineering work · Sintra access and monument entry · Belém closures and reservations · local public transport · weather and visibility · airport and hotel transfers · luggage storage where required The best one-week Portugal itinerary uses two bases, one movable day and only one real hotel transfer. Save this before turning a rail trip into a luggage trip. #portugaltravel #portugalitinerary #lisbon #sintra #porto #portugalbytrain #lisbontravel #portotravel #sintradaytrip #europebyrail #portugalfirsttimer #tripmoments #jnatravelmoments

Sintra, located just outside Lisbon, is home to the magnificent palaces and castles of the Portuguese royalty. Located on the outskirts of Lisbon, Sintra boasts opulent palaces and historic castles from the Portuguese royal era. With a wealth of nearby attractions, it is a must-visit destination in Portugal. Our one-day itinerary—Sintra National Palace, Queluz National Palace, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais—offers a fulfilling and well-paced experience. With convenient transportation between sites, it is perfect for travelers looking to explore the region deeply in a short amount of time. Itinerary and Highlights First Stop: Sintra National Palace Address: Largo Rainha Dona Amélia, 2710-616 Sintra, Portugal Opening Hours: 09:30–18:30 (Last entry at 18:00) As the oldest royal palace in Portugal, this residence features elegant and colorful interiors. Each room displays a unique style, with the intricate tilework and painted ceilings being particularly striking. We recommend setting aside 1–1.5 hours for the visit to fully appreciate the architectural details. Tickets are required (101 Euros); due to large crowds, it is best to arrive early or book in advance. Second Stop: Queluz National Palace Recommendation: Take a bus or Uber. Queluz is hailed as Sintra's most whimsical palace, resembling a fairytale castle with beautiful gardens perfect for photos. We especially recommend exploring the palace's secret passages and stone stairways for a mysterious vibe. The garden scenery changes with the seasons—lush in spring and summer, and colorful in autumn and winter. Plan for 1–2 hours here. Third Stop: Cabo da Roca Address: Estrada do Cabo da Roca s/n, 2705-001 Colares, Portugal Open 24/7 year-round Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of the Eurasian continent, famously known as the "Edge of the World," offering breathtaking views of the vast Atlantic Ocean. The iconic stone monument and lighthouse are essential landmarks for photos. Be mindful of the strong sea winds and wear windproof clothing. A walk along the cliffs at sunset is highly recommended as the most romantic part of the day. Fourth Stop: Cascais The final stop is Lisbon's popular seaside resort town. The streets exude a classic European holiday vibe, with beaches, cafes, and boutiques perfect for a leisurely stroll to experience the relaxed Portuguese lifestyle. If time permits, lounge by the sea or enjoy fresh seafood. Getting back to central Lisbon by train is very convenient. Travel Tips 1. Sintra National Palace gets crowded; aim for a morning entry to avoid the rush. Cabo da Roca is very windy, so bring a jacket or windbreaker. 2. We recommend using buses or Uber between attractions rather than driving, as Sintra's roads are narrow and prone to traffic jams. 3. A typical route starts with the palaces in the morning, followed by Cabo da Roca and Cascais after lunch. 4. Cascais is all about relaxation; leave enough time to wander through the shops or enjoy the beach. Important Considerations Sintra is hilly with significant walking involved, so wear comfortable shoes. There are stairs throughout the palaces, so those with strollers or limited mobility should take note. Be careful when taking photos at Cabo da Roca due to the strong winds. Remember that some palace tickets require advance booking.

Lisbon is full of famous viewpoints and colorful streets, but I found some of my favorite moments when I wandered beyond the usual tourist route. I started at Mouraria, where narrow lanes, tiled buildings, tiny restaurants, and local life made the neighborhood feel much more authentic than the busy areas around Baixa. I loved simply walking without checking the map every few minutes. Then I headed to LX Factory, a former industrial complex transformed into a creative hub filled with shops, cafés, art, and restaurants. The old factory atmosphere mixed with modern creativity gave it a completely different personality. My third discovery was Jardim do Torel, a small hillside garden where I could sit quietly and look across Lisbon’s rooftops. It was the kind of place I would have easily walked past if I hadn’t been exploring slowly. I still visited Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, São Jorge Castle, Praça do Comércio, Alfama, Santa Justa Lift, and Miradouro da Senhora do Monte, but these three places showed me a more relaxed Lisbon and that was the side I enjoyed most. #lisbon #portugal

Lisbon is a mountain town full of storytelling, and the distance between the old city and the Atlantic Ocean always evokes imagination. On this two-day trip, walk along the stone roads up the hills, slowly feel Portugal’s maritime history, Mediterranean atmosphere and unbeatable sunset views, and finally understand why everyone recommends an in-depth trip to Lisbon. 🗓️Itinerary: Day 1: Alphama Old Town — St. Lucia Observation Deck — St. Jorge Castle Day 2: Jeronimos Monastery—Beren Tower—Sailboat in the evening to watch the sunset Day 1 Highlights: The first stop is Alfama Old Town, an area that retains the most pristine taste of Lisbon. The narrow and winding streets, the walls covered with colored tiles and nostalgic authentic small shops, the aroma of coffee and the ever-present Fado song makes people linger. Alfama is open all day year round, no tickets required, it is recommended to plan your route in advance, don’t be afraid of getting lost and you may encounter surprise alleys! Next stop is the Santa Lucia Observation Deck, which is recommended to go up at dusk, Largo de Santa Luzia, 1100-487 Lisboa. From here you can overlook the Red Roof and Tagus River, which is super good for taking pictures at sunrise, sunset or noon. Then walk up St. Jorge Castle, R. de Santa Cruz do Castelo, 1100-129 Lisboa. The castle is built on a hilltop and overlooks the best view of the entire city of Lisbon. It is recommended to go early in advance, there are fewer entrants before noon. The castle has different opening hours, 9:00-18:00 in winter and until 21:00 in summer, tickets are 191.5 (Portuguese currency). Please note that the museum will be closed on different holidays. When buying tickets, you can ask the staff to get a map for easy tours of the different exhibition areas and towers. Day 2 Featured Highlights: Geronimos Monastery, Praça do Império 1400-206 Lisboa. This World Heritage Site blends Manuel style with Gothic architectural details, very grand and every inch worth taking pictures. The lobby and cloister have the most outstanding views, and it is recommended to go before the doors open to avoid group guests. The monastery is closed on Mondays, other times 09:30-17:30 (last entry 17:00), tickets 150.0. Stop 2 Belem Tower, Av. Brasília, 1400-038 Lisboa. As a landmark of Lisbon, it is perfect for arrangement with the monastery. The appearance is like a grand little fortress, very photogenic from different angles, remember to bring sunscreen! Belenta is closed on Mondays and some public holidays, the rest of the days are open from 09:30-17:30, tickets are 116.0. The last stop is the unmissable sailing sunset experience in Lisbon, departing from the Belém district pier, enjoying the most magnificent coastline and golden sky along the way, very relaxing, while far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, great for slowing down and feeling the beauty of the journey. Practical tips: 1. The city is mainly walking, it is recommended to wear comfortable sneakers and bring water and snacks. 2. More mountain roads, pay attention to mobile phone/camera battery, check in along the way. 3. Always for European cities, valuables keep carefully. 4. Most attractions are closed on Mondays. 5. Early ticket purchase is recommended, especially during the peak summer tourist season, to reduce unnecessary queue times. #Lisbon Trip #Hill Beauty #Portugal Must See #Navigation History #Photo Hotspots

We visited Lisbon in December last year for a quick recharge before the end of the year, and off-season is truly the best kept secret. The weather was so mild that we had breakfast outside in the sun every morning. The summer rush is gone, so you get genuine local interactions, empty streets, and fresh oranges hanging from every tree. Here are three spots we loved: 🧁 Fresh Pastéis at Manteigaria: Watching the bakers work behind the glass counter while eating warm custard tarts dusted with cinnamon is unbeatable. Pair it with hot chocolate! 🍷 Solar dos Bicos for Local Seafood: Authentic, relaxed, and hearty. We had fresh grilled fish and bacalhau without needing reservations weeks ahead. We were surrounded by very friendly locals and really enjoyed the ambiance! 🍊 Alfama Courtyards: Stumble into hidden square terraces shaded by ripe orange trees for a breakfasr with freshly squizzed orange juice. We could taste C-vitamin there! Best to know before your departure: Best time to walk is late morning when the sun hits the squares. Pack comfortable sneakers with good grip. The traditional stone pavements are notoriously slick. Take your camera with you! Colors are the best in winter and you'll enjoy beautiful traditional streets. Without any tourists! #lisbon #localfood #foodtravel #autumnbeauty #pastéisdenata

Lisbon money guide: exact ticket prices + how not to overpay in 3 days If you are flying into Lisbon soon, save this. Below are real 2026 prices and the moves that actually save money. Not vibes. Numbers. 1. Airport to center (do this first) At Aeroporto metro station buy a navegante occasional card for 0.50 euro. Load either: · zapping credit (pay per ride at 1.72 euro on metro/Carris), or · one Carris/Metro ride for 1.90 euro Red line metro to Baixa-Chiado / Saldanha area is about 20-30 min. Total first trip usually around 2.40 euro with the new card. Uber/Bolt to center is often around 8-15 euro depending on traffic and surge. Official airport taxi is often around 10-15 euro into the center (meter on, ask for receipt). Apps are usually cheaper than a random fixed price someone offers you. Do not buy the expensive onboard tram ticket later if you already have the card. On tram 28, onboard cash fare is about 3.30 euro. With zapping it is 1.72. That alone is a classic tourist tax. 2. Best transport setup for 3 days Card: navegante occasional = 0.50 euro, reloadable for a year. Price cheat sheet (2026): · single Carris/Metro: 1.90 euro · zapping Carris/Metro: 1.72 euro · 24h Carris/Metro unlimited: 7.25 euro · 24h Carris/Metro + CP trains (Sintra/Cascais lines): 11.40 euro · 24h with ferry to Cacilhas: 10.35 euro When 24h wins: If you will ride metro + tram + elevators more than about 4-5 times in 24 hours, take the 7.25 day pass. Santa Justa and the funiculars are covered on the Carris day ticket, and buying them separately hurts. When zapping wins: Slow days, mostly walking, 2-3 rides. Load 10 or 15 euro and stop thinking about tickets. Sintra day: Load the 11.40 euro 24h Carris/Metro/CP ticket that morning. Train Rossio or Oriente to Sintra, then bus 434 up to Pena. Do not rent a car for Sintra historic center access to Pena. Private cars are restricted and it turns into a mess. 3. Belem without wasting half a day Closed Mondays for Jeronimos cloister and Belem Tower. Plan Belem Tue-Sun. Buy timed tickets on the official Museus e Monumentos site the night before. Resellers mark it up. Ballpark official adult tickets people are paying in 2026: · Jeronimos cloister: about 18 euro · Belem Tower: about 15 euro Church part of Jeronimos is separate and often free to enter for a look, but the famous cloister is the paid one. Always check the official site the day you book because prices move. Pasteis de Belem: around 1.30 euro per tart. Takeaway line is usually faster than sit-down. Ask for them warm with cinnamon and sugar. Timing tip: early morning or after 14:00. Midday is peak Instagram queue. 4. Sintra / Pena if you only do one palace Pena Essential Visit adult ticket is 20 euro on the official Parques de Sintra site. Youth/senior about 18. Family packs exist if you are 2+2. Book a timed palace slot. The time on the ticket is palace entry, not park entry. After you enter the park you still need about 30 minutes to reach the palace (walk or paid transfer). Arrive early to the park or you miss the slot with no refund. Official site currently says afternoons can be quieter than mornings. Still book ahead in high season. 5. Tram 28 without losing your phone Ride it for the experience once, early (before 9) or later evening. Midday is pickpocket + sardine can. Cheaper and saner: walk chunks of the route (Graca / Alfama / Baixa) and use bus 737 toward the castle area when legs are done. Keep bag in front. No phone hanging out of back pockets. 6. Food budget that feels local Prato do dia (dish of the day) in a normal tasca: often about 8-12 euro and filling. Touristy photo menus in Baixa: easy to hit 18-25 euro for something worse. Time Out Market: go around 17:00, share small plates, do not order a full meal at 4 stalls. Dinner filter that works: Portuguese menu, locals, football on TV. Prices drop. 7. Rough 3-day money map (per person, mid range) · Airport metro in: ~2.40 euro first time with card · City transport: ~7-15 euro/day depending on day pass vs walking · Belem monuments: ~30+ euro if you do cloister + tower · Pasteis stop: ~3-6 euro · Sintra day: train day ticket 11.40 + Pena 20 + snacks · Meals: 25-40 euro/day if you mix prato do dia and one nicer dinner You can do Lisbon cheaper by skipping paid interiors and living on viewpoints + food. You can also burn money fast on hop-on buses, random fado tourist packages, and buying every ticket from a reseller. 8. Do this the night before you fly 1. Screenshot metro map + Rossio-Sintra train idea 2. Decide Belem day that is NOT Monday 3. Prebook Jeronimos/Tower and Pena on official sites only 4. Put Uber and Bolt on your phone with roaming or eSIM ready 5. Pack shoes with grip. Hills are real and cobbles are slippery after rain If this saved you even one bad ticket purchase, save the post. Comment your dates and I can tell you whether day passes or zapping fits your plan better. #Lisbon #PortugalTravel

Lisbon is one of Europe’s most beautiful, romantic, and budget-friendly capitals. Perched on seven hills along the Atlantic coast, the city boasts stunning "Miradouros" (viewpoints) hidden around every corner, charming pastel buildings, vintage trams, and fresh, delicious seafood. By 2026, Lisbon has perfected the blend of historic charm and chic modern cafes, all while remaining significantly more affordable than other European hubs. Must-Visit Highlights in Lisbon: Ride the Vintage Tram 28: This iconic yellow tram zigs and zags through narrow, hilly streets. Try to catch it early in the morning to beat the long queues. Sunset at Castelo de São Jorge: This ancient hilltop castle offers a 360-degree panorama of Lisbon and the Tagus River. The atmosphere here at dusk is incredibly romantic. Discover History in Belém: Take a train west to visit the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery—UNESCO World Heritage sites that showcase the Golden Age of Discovery. Don’t Miss the Original Egg Tarts: Lisbon is the birthplace of this world-famous treat. We recommend visiting Pastéis de Belém, the legendary bakery that has been serving them since 1837.

October 2026 is a great time to save on flights across Europe. Just got back from Portugal! The seaside sunsets, vintage trams, and colorful old towns are incredibly romantic It's healing and laid-back, with an amazing atmosphere—every shot looks like a movie scene But while the scenery heals the soul, it puts your body through hell! The experience is truly polarizing; once is enough, and it's not really for the average traveler to visit twice ﹉﹉ ❌ Why I won't visit again! 6 real reasons to reconsider 1. No flat roads, a total leg-killer Portugal's old towns are all steep slopes + uneven cobblestone roads Lisbon and Porto are constant uphill and downhill climbs with no flat ground Dragging a suitcase is a nightmare, and walking will destroy your feet Walking tens of thousands of steps a day is too much even for hardcore travelers—lazy travelers, beware! 2. Transport nightmare: strikes and detours are the norm Intercity trains and buses frequently strike, run late, or get canceled The classic No. 28 tram is suffocatingly crowded and full of pickpockets Short taxi rides are heavily overpriced—nearly 100 for 3 km If you don't know the routes, it's easy for drivers to take you the long way. Independent travel is exhausting 3. Price traps everywhere, budget shock Viral egg tarts cost over a dozen each, and attraction tickets are generally high Street food, coffee, and souvenirs are heavily overpriced Old, elevator-less guesthouses in the old town are double the price with very low value It looks like a niche, affordable destination, but actual spending far exceeds expectations 4. Unpredictable weather and extreme UV levels The temperature difference between day and night is ridiculous! Scorching heat during the day, freezing cold winds in the morning and evening It's dry and hot 40°C+ in summer, and you can get sunburned even on cloudy days Cabo da Roca has fierce winds year-round—you can't stand still, let alone take good photos Sudden rainstorms can easily ruin your plans 5. Safety concerns and rampant pickpocketing A major disaster area for pickpockets in Europe! Trams, attractions, and crowded areas are full of thieves You must carry your bag in front of you and keep your phone hidden You'll be on edge the whole time, completely ruining any sense of a relaxing vacation 6. High language barrier, making travel difficult Locals mostly speak only Portuguese, and English proficiency is very low Road signs and menus are all in Portuguese, making communication difficult Self-service ordering, asking for directions, and transferring are easy to mess up—not recommended for beginners ﹉﹉ 📍 Must-visit core attractions ▪️ Lisbon Old Town Vintage trams, colorful streets, viral elevators Sunlight on old buildings creates a cinematic feel ▪️ Porto Blue and white tile churches, Douro River sunsets, vintage wine cellars The layered architecture of the old town creates an incredible atmosphere ▪️ Cabo da Roca The westernmost point of continental Europe! Facing the Atlantic Ocean "Where the land ends and the sea begins"—incredibly healing and vast ▪️ Belém Tower A century-old seaside monument. A must-visit landmark in Portugal, especially beautiful at sunset ▪️ Sintra Fairy-tale palaces and green castles—the ultimate European secret garden atmosphere ﹉﹉ 📝 5-day, 4-night lazy, stress-free route D1: Lisbon Old Town stroll > Tram check-in > Belém Tower sunset D2: Sintra day trip, immersive fairy-tale castles D3: Cabo da Roca > Cascais seaside town, view the Atlantic scenery D4: Deep dive into Porto Old Town > Douro River night view D5: Wine cellar experience > Niche street photography > Return trip 🍜 Must-eat local food ✅ Portuguese egg tart | Authentic old shops, crispy and creamy—a must-try ✅ Portuguese seafood rice | Fresh and flavorful, generous portions of seafood ✅ Grilled sardines, Portuguese BBQ | Local street food specialties ✅ Port wine | Exclusive to Porto, low alcohol, easy to drink ﹉﹉ ⚠️ Ultimate hard-earned tips to avoid pitfalls 1. Wear flat, soft-soled shoes the whole time! Definitely don't wear high heels or white sneakers 2. Keep valuables close to your body, don't carry open bags, and stay alert in crowded areas 3. Check transport announcements in advance and avoid traveling on strike days 4. Don't blindly buy egg tarts or souvenirs at tourist spots; old shops in residential areas offer better value 5. Use heavy-duty sunscreen and bring a windbreaker to handle the changeable weather 6. Distances between cities are long; only plan 1–2 attractions per day. Don't overschedule ﹉﹉ 💛 Final thoughts Portugal is a paradise for the eyes but a hell for the feet Extremely romantic but extremely exhausting Suitable for people who love niche scenery, can walk a lot, and enjoy slow-paced old towns Seeing the Atlantic sunset once is enough✨

Rua do Cunha Food Map 🍜 From Stone Pot Shark’s Fin to Hidden Market Snacks When you visit Macau, it would be a shame to only stick to the hotel casinos! Today, I’m taking you deep into Taipa Old Village for a gourmet tour of Rua do Cunha, where traditional time-honored brands meet trendy new creative snacks. Follow my route, and I guarantee you’ll eat your way from main courses to souvenirs and desserts until you’re absolutely stuffed! Stop 1: Tam Kah Shark’s Fin (The Go-To for Authentic Comfort) ⭐️ The first stop on our food journey must be a bowl of piping hot, rich soup to wake up your appetite. This legendary shop is famous for its high-value-for-money stone pot seafood stews. Shark’s Fin in Stone Pot: The pot is still sizzling when it hits the table, with the broth bubbling vigorously. The fins are thick and have fully absorbed the golden, concentrated stock. The texture is soft, smooth, yet slightly bouncy—pure collagen in every bite. Yellow Braised Fish Maw: An absolute favorite for the ladies! The fish maw is thick and cut into large pieces, braised for a long time until soft and tender. The thick, golden sauce coats the fish maw, making it incredibly savory. Rice Pairing: Whatever you do, don’t forget to order a bowl of white rice! Spoon that rich yellow braise over the steaming rice, mix it up, and take a big bite. The sweetness of the broth combined with the aroma of the rice is a total game-changer. Stop 2: Koi Kei Bakery (A Classic Macau Souvenir Tasting Experience) After the main course, stroll down the cobblestone path of Rua do Cunha, and you’ll soon be drawn in by the aroma of freshly baked cookies. As one of Macau’s most famous souvenir shops, their "try before you buy" culture is legendary! Handmade Almond Cookies: You can watch the masters making the cookies right in the shop. Fresh out of the oven, these almond cookies are crumbly and fragrant, embedded with crunchy almond bits for a nutty finish. Phoenix Rolls and Egg Rolls: The egg rolls are paper-thin and layered, so crispy they crumble at the touch. The Phoenix rolls, filled with meat floss and seaweed, offer a perfect blend of salty and sweet. With generous samples available, you can easily pick your favorites. Stop 3: Taipa Market (The New Creative Food Hub) After souvenir shopping, head over to the newly upgraded Taipa Market. It’s clean, organized, and home to many incredibly creative food stalls! 1. Choco Egg ⭐️: Their Portuguese Tart Egg Waffles are a masterpiece! With a golden, crispy exterior and a rich custard filling inside, every bite is a "lava" explosion. You can also try the spicy Curry Fish Ball Egg Waffles—yes, there are actual fish balls inside! The mix of salty, spicy, and sweet is addictive. If you can’t finish two whole portions, you can always go for a "double flavor" combo. 👍 2. Fa Fa Dragon Beard Candy: A hidden gem that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern flavors. Beyond the classic peanut and sesame, they offer innovative flavors like Mango Pomelo Sago, Ferrero Rocher, Earl Grey, and even Poached Chicken! The sugar strands are as fine as hair, melting instantly in your mouth. 3. The Sweetory: If you’re feeling tired, grab a made-to-order Mango Pomelo Sago. Packed with mango chunks, pomelo bits, and sago, all mixed with rich coconut milk and mango slush—it’s sweet, tart, and incredibly refreshing. Final Stop: Manteigaria (Lisbon’s Famous Egg Tarts, Directly Imported) ⭐️ The grand finale of our food tour is Manteigaria, a top-tier Portuguese egg tart brand originating from Lisbon. Store Decor: The shop decor has a heavy European vibe, and the freshly baked tarts radiate an intense aroma of milk and caramel. The crust is exceptionally flaky, while the slightly charred custard filling is as smooth as cream, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of cinnamon. Sprinkle on some extra cinnamon and powdered sugar, pair it with an espresso, and you have the perfect ending to your Rua do Cunha adventure. 📍 Shop Info Cheat Sheet 1. Evora is an amazing place to visit! It is just ninety minutes driving east from Lisbon, so it is perfect for a two day getaway. The old town or center of Evora was declared an UNESCO Heritage site in 1986 and it is such a beautiful place. There are many things to see and experience in this historic Portuguese town but here follows the top five places to see. 1. Chapel of bones. The inside of this church had the bones of five thousand different humans. It is strange but also conveys the sense of humans being impermanence and ultimate demise. Good for a dose of reality! 2. Templo de Diana or Roman Temple. Great to see how far the ancient Empire spread. 3. Agua da Prata or The Silver Water Aquaduct. It surrounds the city and stands high abovebthe ground in some places. 4. Palacio Dom Manuel. A well manicured garden surrounds the palace and it is well taken care of and a nice place to sit outside and relax. 5. Cathedral of Evora. This is probably the most impressive site in the town. The entrance fee is five euros and the whole site is more than just the church. It takes about two hours to see everything. The view from the roof is amazing and should not be missed! After a full day of sight seeing I recommend stopping at the Praça do Giraldo (the huge main plaza) in the late afternoon. The area is full of bars, cafes and pastelerias to satisfy everyone. As for a recommended hotel, The Hilton Garden Inn Evora is clean, modern, has great and very friendly staff. #portugaltravel #travel2026 #evora #unescoworldheritage #portugal #tripmoments #weekendgetaways #couplestrip #cathedral #churches

Save this clear plan for Lisbon and its surroundings, featuring precise timings and secret photo spots. Day 1. Atmospheric Lisbon without the tourist lines 07:30 — Alfama District: Arrive before the famous Tram 28 starts running to capture empty narrow streets in the soft morning light. 09:00 — Miradouro de Santa Luzia: The best panoramic view with azulejo tiles and Tagus River views, minus the tourist swarms. 14:00 — Belém District: Instead of waiting in a two-hour line at Pastéis de Belém, grab your treats from the express take-out window on the left. 18:30 — Sunset at Miradouro da Senhora do Monte: The city’s highest viewpoint overlooking São Jorge Castle. Day 2. The palaces and mysticism of Sintra Logistics: Train from Rossio Station (40 minutes, approx. €2.50 one way). 09:00 — Quinta da Regaleira: Arrive right at opening and head straight to the Initiation Well before the tour groups arrive. 13:00 — Pena Palace (Palácio da Pena): Buy a "Park only" ticket (€10 instead of the full €20). You don't need to go inside the palace—all the iconic terraces and vibrant facades are accessible from the park. 17:00 — Cabo da Roca: Catch bus 1253 from Sintra to the westernmost point of Eurasia for sunset. Day 3. Porto: Bridges, tiles, and port wine Logistics: Alfa Pendular high-speed train from Lisbon (Santa Apolónia station ➔ Porto Campanhã, 2h 50m). 10:00 — São Bento Station: Free entry to see 20,000 azulejo tiles lining the walls. 14:00 — Luís I Bridge (Ponte Luís I): Walk across the upper level to the Vila Nova de Gaia side. 17:30 — Jardim do Morro: The ultimate postcard-perfect sunset spot overlooking Ribeira, accompanied by live street music. Practical money-saving hacks: Buy a Navegante card in Lisbon and use the "Zapping" top-up system—metro, bus, and vintage funicular rides will cost nearly half the price of single tickets. Uber and Bolt are often cheaper than public transport within the city if you're traveling as a pair or a group of three. Follow my profile—every week I post new ready-made itineraries and hidden travel gems!

This quaint seaside town is located less than two hours drive south of Lisbon, so it is perfect for a weekend or short visit. I recommend staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Sesimbra and try to check in early and walk over to the Port for an amazing seafood lunch at one of the many restaurants. Afterwards you could lounge by the pool, walk along the two kilometers of beach in front of the town or do like the locals and have a nap. In the evening it is a five minute walk into town, do not bother driving around the parking in town is difficult. There are many nice coffee bars and pastry shoyp around for a treat before you go down to the esplanade to watch the sunset. There is the reconstruction of parts of the old sea walls and buildings, that are now filled with artisan shops. There are some beautiful things to see and purchase as souvenirs or gifts. The better restaurants usually begin opening around seven for dinner and there are many options but I recommend going into the winding streets of the town to find a more intimate restaurant. Day 2 - I suggest going to the Cabo do Espichel area. Here you can visit Faro(lighthouse) do Cabo Espichel, Santuario de Nossa Senihora (a fantastic old church) and Momumento Natural da Pedra Dumua (dinosaur foorprints). These three things can be explored from the same parking area. After about three hours exploring, you could drive five kilometers and explore a busy beach(Praia de Alfarim) or more deserted beach (Praia das Bicas or Praia da Foz). They are enormous beaches looking our onto the Atlantic Ocean and I felt the vastness of the environment here. It is really impressive. On the way back to Sesimbra I recommend stopping in Santana to see the Castle of Sesimbra. This old stone to fort and walls are really just the skeleton of the castle but it has fantastic views looking down onto Sesimbra and out over the Ocean. #travel #europetrip #portugal #lisbon #lighthouse #myitinerary #travel2026 #tripmoments

The Jerónimos Monastery, located in the Belém district of Lisbon, Portugal, is one of the country’s most iconic historical landmarks. A symbol of the prosperity during the Age of Discovery, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, alongside the Tower of Belém. Construction began in 1502, featuring the distinct Portuguese "Manueline" architectural style. The building is a masterpiece, adorned with intricate carvings of ropes, seashells, and botanical motifs inspired by the sea and maritime exploration. A highlight is the cloister, where elegant arches and columns create a stunning, photo-worthy white stone courtyard. The monastery also serves as the final resting place for the legendary explorer Vasco da Gama and the national poet Luís de Camões. With other major attractions like the Tower of Belém and the Monument to the Discoveries nearby, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Lisbon. Address: Praça do Império, 1400-206 Lisboa, Portugal Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (subject to seasonal changes) Closed: Mondays, Jan 1, May 1, Dec 25, etc. Admission: General Admission approx. €18 *Please check official sources before your visit, as hours and prices are subject to change.

✅️Alfama's Laundry Alley - where Lisbon still lives. No museum, no ticket. Just a narrow street in Alfama with blue azulejos, flower pots, laundry dancing in the wind, and Tram 28E squeezing through so close you can feel it. 💡 Tip: Come early morning, weekdays = no crowd + perfect light 📍 Beco do Espírito Santo, Alfama - Lisbon. ✅️ Sunset at Santa Catarina. The statue watches, Tram 28 climbs, the bridge turns gold. Lisbon pauses for two minutes — and everyone tries to catch it. ✅️All of Lisbon in one look — red roofs to the river, bridge to Cristo Rei. From Senhora do Monte, the city feels endless. #lisbon #alfama #tripcom #travelling #portugal

Imagine someone hands you a plane ticket to Portugal tomorrow and says you can visit one city only. No quick train south. No “we'll squeeze Porto in for two nights.” No second chance. Just one. Would you choose the sun-soaked hills of Lisbon, or the atmospheric beauty of Porto? Lisbon announces itself with colour. Yellow trams climb impossibly steep streets, tiled façades catch the afternoon light, viewpoints open across terracotta rooftops and the Tagus River, and the smell of grilled fish seems to follow you through the narrow lanes. It's the kind of city where getting lost can feel like part of the itinerary. Spend the morning wandering Alfama, stop for a pastel de nata still warm from the oven, explore Belém, then watch the city turn golden from one of its famous miradouros. And when evening arrives, Lisbon gets even better. Tiny restaurants fill with conversation, plates of seafood appear on tables and the melancholy sounds of fado drift through the streets. Then there's Porto. Smaller. Moodier. Perhaps a little more mysterious. The city rises dramatically from the Douro River, with colourful buildings stacked along the hills and the famous Dom Luís I Bridge connecting Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia. Here, the pace feels different. You can spend the morning wandering Ribeira, stop for a long Portuguese lunch, cross the river for a port wine tasting, then find a terrace overlooking the Douro as the city begins to glow. And the food? Porto doesn't hold back. Try francesinha, the city's legendary sandwich smothered in sauce, or settle into a traditional restaurant for grilled fish, octopus and rich Portuguese dishes paired with local wine. Lisbon feels bright, cosmopolitan and effortlessly energetic. Porto feels intimate, romantic and wonderfully atmospheric. If you want sunshine, viewpoints, nightlife, beaches nearby and endless neighbourhoods to explore, Lisbon has the edge. If you want wine, river views, historic streets, incredible food and a slower, more intimate experience, Porto might win you over. But perhaps that's what makes this choice so difficult. Lisbon feels like a city you could keep discovering forever. Porto feels like a city you could fall in love with over a long weekend. One is golden. One is moody. Both are unforgettable. 🇵🇹 Lisbon for the sunshine, culture and energy? 🍷 Porto for the wine, food and atmosphere? If you've visited both, which one deserves your next trip? #travel2026#travel#couplestrip#beachlife#staycation#thingstodo#familytravel#myitinerary#citydaytours#afternoonteatime#localfood

If you want to see the most charming side of Lisbon, spend a few hours simply getting lost in Alfama. With its winding alleyways, colourful tiled buildings, tiny balconies, and iconic yellow trams, Alfama feels like a place where every corner has a story. ✨ 🚶♀️ The Best Way to Explore Don’t follow a strict route—just wander. · Walk through the narrow cobbled streets · Climb the little stairways and hills · Look out for traditional Portuguese tiles on the buildings · Stop whenever you see a beautiful view · Watch the famous yellow trams squeeze through the tiny streets 🚋 📸 My Favourite Part Taking photos of the trams from different angles. Sometimes they’re climbing a steep hill, sometimes disappearing around a corner, and sometimes perfectly framed between the colourful buildings. You can wait for the same tram and still get a completely different photo every time. 🌅 Don’t Miss the Viewpoints Alfama is full of miradouros with beautiful views over Lisbon’s terracotta rooftops and the Tagus River. Miradouro de Santa Luzia is especially beautiful, with its traditional tiles, flowers, and views over the neighbourhood. 🎶 Feel the Local Atmosphere Alfama is also famous for Fado, Lisbon’s traditional music. In the evening, the narrow streets become even more atmospheric, with the sound of Fado coming from small restaurants and traditional venues. 🎵 💡 Tips for Visiting · Wear comfortable shoes—the hills and cobblestones are no joke! · Go early if you want quieter streets and better photos. · Keep your camera ready—the best photo opportunities are often unexpected. · Don’t be afraid to get lost; that’s part of the Alfama experience. · Stay until evening to experience the neighbourhood when the Fado atmosphere comes alive. ✨ Alfama isn’t somewhere you visit just to see the sights. It’s somewhere you wander, pause, look up, and let the city unfold around you. Between the yellow trams, colourful tiles, hidden streets, and incredible views, Alfama captures everything I love about Lisbon. 🇵🇹 #lisbon #alfama #portugal

【Painted Rocks】 ~A recommended photo spot for those who want to relax while enjoying the river breeze~ During my solo trip to Lisbon, I discovered some mysterious and colorful rocks! ✨ The place where I found them is "Av. Ribeira das Naus," which stretches from Praça do Comércio to Cais do Sodré Station. This is the site of a historic shipyard where ships were built and repaired during the Age of Discovery, and it's now a beautiful waterside promenade! I visited around 2 PM, and the pleasant river breeze and the sound of the waves were truly soothing. 🌊✨ The view was so vast that the opposite bank was visible in the distance, and it wasn't crowded, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing time away from the crowds. Actually, I'm a huge fan of Studio Ghibli's "Kiki's Delivery Service," and the cityscape of Lisbon and the atmosphere of this waterside area are exactly like the world depicted in the film…! Since I was traveling alone, I walked along with Ghibli songs playing in my head, feeling really happy! 😂 I think this location will definitely appeal to anyone who loves walking! Along the way, I discovered a strange art installation made of colorful stones piled up! Looking closely at the art, I saw national flags and cute faces drawn on it, which warmed my heart. ☺️ The handmade art using natural materials was so cute! 🎨 Incidentally, there's a community activity where people tag painted stones with "Lisbon Rocks" and hide them in towns and parks, then share them on social media or rearrange them in different locations! ! And perhaps because it was summer, there were also cute, pop-style wooden stand shops (selling ice cream and juice), creating an exciting atmosphere reminiscent of a beach hut 🍦 This place is apparently very famous for its sunsets, and I definitely want to visit again at dusk 🌅 (However, since the sun sets late in Portugal during the summer, around 9 PM, it's important to be careful about safety on your way back at night 🙏) The area is also home to many tourist attractions such as the ferry terminal, Lisboa Story Centre, and Lisbon Cathedral, making it easy to incorporate into a city walking tour 👌 📍Spot Name: Painted Rocks 🚃Access: ・A short walk from Praça do Comércio ・Cais do Approximately 3-5 minutes on foot from Sodré (Cais do Sodré) station. 💡Recommended activities and highlights: · A leisurely stroll while listening to the sound of the waves · Relaxing on the grassy area or the large tiered terrace · Watching the sunset (sunset in summer is around 8:30-9:00 PM) 🗺️ Nearby attractions: Lisboa Story Centre, Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), Ferry Terminal #Portugal #Lisbon #PortugalTravel #EuropeTravel #OverseasTravel #SoloTravel #ScenicSpot #RibeiraDasNaus #KikisDeliveryService #WalkingCourse
