On May 27, 2025, we embarked on a trip to Dagu Glacier with a group of four people. We decided to stay overnight in Maoxian Ancient Town. We took the high-speed train departing at 12:34 PM and arriving at 1:30 PM. Upon arrival, we took a shuttle parked on the left side, which dropped us off at the hotel for 15 yuan per person. The hotel staff kindly took us to a nearby restaurant, which was very delicious. There were two restaurants to choose from. After eating, we walked to the ancient town but didn’t go inside as it was already late. Instead, we called a taxi to take us to the pedestrian street, where there were plenty of food stalls. Vendors started setting up around 5:30 PM, and the street was bustling with delicious fruits and snacks. After exploring, the hotel staff picked us up again. We arranged for the hotel to find a car to take us to Dagu Glacier the next day, planning to leave early in the morning and return in the evening, dropping us off at the high-speed train station. The next morning, we left at 6:30 AM. It was raining, and we wondered if it would rain at Dagu Glacier. The journey took about 2 hours. Upon arrival, it was drizzling and very cold. From the park bus to the cable car, it took us approximately 2.5 hours. The day we visited, the sky was completely overcast, and everything was shrouded in white. Some of us experienced altitude sickness, but the scenery was breathtaking. We rode the world’s highest cable car, which took 20 minutes—an indescribable experience. Even though the sky wasn’t clear, the views were stunning. If the weather had been better, we could have taken more photos. We spent about an hour at the top before descending. It was still raining when we got back down. We returned to Maoxian high-speed train station around 6:00 PM to catch the train back, departing at 6:47 PM and arriving at 7:52 PM.
