In the center of Courchevel, the White 1921 offers a super friendly, well designed home for skiing holidays. The staff were fantastic in every way. In advance of us getting there they were able to sort out restaurant reservations, booked transfer from the Altiport and arrange a last minute transfer back to Geneva. The ski concierge service was truly fantastic - it made the whole ski in/ out experience even better. Friendly, accommodating, just brilliant. While Fontvieille Shopping Centre maintains some of the elegance you’d expect from a location such as Monaco, there’s plenty of more practical offerings here too. On the one hand, you’ll find the private collection of antique cars of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III. On the other, you’ll find lots of everyday shopping, there’s a large Carrefour supermarket here to buy groceries and everyday items at very reasonable prices. The McDonald’s on the 2nd floor offers some great views of the marina and its yachts, as well as the Prince's Palace of Monaco. Le Metropole Shopping Center is all about luxury living, which is obvious when you see its lavish furnishings of crystal chandeliers, Italian marble floors, and upscale brands. With 80 shops selling everything from gourmet food and beauty treatments to designer clothes and exclusive timepieces, you’ll find most of your shopping needs met under the highly ornate ceiling. A good spot to escape the summer heat and humidity, you’ll also find a handful of swanky restaurants inside. Great if you need refuelling while you shop. I had the impression that it was famous for its casinos, so when I went inside the premises, I saw rows of luxury cars... I thought it was something from a movie, but it seems to actually exist.

Our trip to Nice and Monaco was amazing. We loved strolling through Nice’s colorful old town, relaxing by the beach, and catching the sunset from Castle Hill. Safety first when traveling alone Let me briefly share some important tips for traveling in Europe! ① Anti-Theft Guide A must-mention precaution for European travel – France is notorious for pickpockets. Although Nice is relatively safe, you still need to stay vigilant. Here's my personal anti-theft guide for Europe: 1- Always wear your bag in front! No matter what kind of bag, keep it in front of you. Hold it tight on public transport, especially during crowded boarding/alighting times! 2- Phone straps recommended! I keep my phone strapped to my wrist while holding it tight, while my husband attaches his phone strap to his chest bag with the phone in the back pocket. 3- Stay alert and avoid engaging with strangers. Thieves often work in teams with someone distracting you – don't fall for it! Watch out for people trying to separate groups – they're definitely thieves! Always secure your belongings first. 4- Separate valuables. Don't keep all cash and cards in one wallet. Distribute them in hidden compartments. A friend once lost everything when their single wallet was stolen. 5- Since we didn't shop for tax refunds, I left my passport locked in the hotel safe or my secured luggage – never carried it out. Very safe this way. Don't worry too much though. Overall, Nice, Menton, and Monaco are quite safe, with Monaco being one of Europe's safest countries. ② About Internet Monaco isn't part of the EU. If you have an EU SIM card like me, remember to turn off mobile data in Monaco to avoid charges. ③ Currency & Language Both France and Monaco use Euros. Cards work everywhere, but carrying some cash is wise. While French is the main language, English works fine in tourist areas.

Monaco's water shuttle is a convenient and economical sea transportation. The water bus connects major attractions and ports, Monaco Port, Monte Carlo, and tourists can easily explore the surrounding areas. The ticket price is only €2 and you can take the bus repeatedly within 30 minutes, making it particularly suitable for travelers on a budget. I found that Monaco is a crescent-shaped harbor, and it is inevitable to return to the same path if walking. The water bus provides faster transportation, avoids the congestion of the main streets, and allows you to enjoy the coastline while sailing. The water bus runs frequently, every 20 minutes. The operating hours depend on the season. You can check the official information in advance. I highly recommend the water boat bus. The crew is very friendly. In addition to introducing the attractions, they also provide guide maps. It is a great way to explore this mini country, allowing you to easily reach major attractions while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

My eSIM unfortunately didn’t support Monaco 🥲, so I had no internet access upon arrival. Luckily, the country is small and its attractions are relatively concentrated. By following the road signs, we managed to complete a full loop of the sights. (There are plenty of restrooms here, most of which are free, and the main language spoken is French.) The train station is quite large, so pay close attention to the exits. Monaco is built on small hills, so walking around can be a bit tiring. We first headed to the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, where there’s an area to explore, including a church, museums, and more. You’ll see many tourists here, as it’s the only place with food stalls. Next, we walked along the F1 racing track by the coast, admiring luxurious yachts and sports cars speeding by. I imagine they’re here to experience the thrill of racing. We continued to the Monte Carlo Casino, where we encountered more tourists and high-end boutiques, witnessing a small area packed with wealthy individuals. Finally, we looped back to the train station. This entire journey, including walking, taking photos, and enjoying some drinks, took about 5 hours. 👍

Riding a motorcycle from Nice to Monaco is an unforgettable journey. Driving along the winding coastal road, you will have a broad view. On the left is the magnificent Mediterranean Sea, and on the right are cliffs and scattered European-style buildings, making you feel the unique style of southern France. As the altitude increases, the scenery along the way becomes more spectacular, especially when passing the Grande Corniche, the view overlooking the entire coastline is breathtaking. After arriving in Monaco, we first visited Monte Carlo. This place is famous for its luxury. Supercars can be seen speeding through the streets. The elegant buildings and exquisite parks make the whole city full of aristocratic atmosphere. Then head to the old town of Monaco (Le Rocher), where the winding alleys retain traces of history. Go up to the commanding heights of the Monaco Palace (Palais Princier) and overlook the entire city and the harbor. The scenery is magnificent. Stop at Port Hercules to admire the luxurious yachts moored at the pier and get a feel for the opulence of the Principality. Afterwards, we rode through the classic track of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. It seemed as if we could feel the roar of the racing engine, which added a touch of excitement to the journey. Although half a day is short, from the magnificent scenery of the coastal road to the prosperity and history of Monaco, this cycling tour is undoubtedly a perfect experience combining nature and city exploration.

📌 Nice, France & Monaco State In all my diverse travels so far I was yet to tick off France and I thought "why tick off one country when I can tick off two?" so picked Nice as my French base for the weekend and was keen to explore the fantastic and contemporary state of Monaco. Why visit Nice & Monaco? 🤫 Bustling city life in Nice 🍽️ Excellent food and drink culture 🚄 Unblemished views of the Cote d'Azur as you venture towards Monaco via train 🇲🇨 Contemporary and vibrant adventures in Monaco 👟 Compact cities all accessible on foot Arriving at Nice airport at 11:00am on a Saturday morning, I was straight through passport control in no time and after a wait of around 10 minutes there was a tram ready to head to the city centre, a journey of around 20 minutes and at a cost of €10.00 including a return ticket which I'd go on to use the next day. 🌊 After arriving into the city centre I headed straight down to the seafront to get a glimpse of the Cote d'Azur (French Riviera) and was not disappointed. Despite visiting in January, the sea was blue, sand gold and palm trees adorned the promenade (Picture 1). 📷 I took a nice walk along the front to take in the views and then meandered back through the city's narrow streets and alleyways, passing a great deal of souvenir shops and local delicatessens. I came across striking buildings such as the Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate (Picture 2) and the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, a Russian Orthodox Church (Picture 3). 🍽️ Time for something to eat and I ate a delicious pizza at an Italian restaurant back near the promenade. 🛌 I then headed to the hotel for rest as I knew I was to have a busy day the following day. Onto Day 2 and I was straight off to Nice-Ville, the main railway station to head to Monaco. ⛵📷 If you're thinking of heading to Monaco, you must do it by train! An upstairs seat on the double-deck InterCity trains gives you an amazing view of the French Riviera as the train passes in and out of the cliffs and stops at the small coastal villages (Picture 4). 🎰 Arriving in Monaco and after having traversed the steep cliff into the city centre via several escalators I arrived at the Monte-Carlo Casino, an unmissable sight on your trip (Picture 5). 🏰 After a tea and some rest my trip in Monaco continued with looking around at the sights such as the Marina (Picture 6) and the Prince's Palace of Monaco (Picture 7), which is often overlooked being a slight trip from the centre but well worth a look. 🚄 I took another brief stop back in France, the city of Menton (Picture 8) before it was back to the airport for my trip home. All in all, a great adventure and one for the bucket list. The views were the best part of it. I'll be back for sure! #springwander

The contrast of deep blue waters against the white-hulled vessels created a postcard-perfect view, with the backdrop of Monaco’s hilly cityscape adding to its dramatic beauty. Venturing to Le Rocher, the old town of Monaco, offered a different perspective. The charming, narrow streets led me to the Prince’s Palace, where I arrived just in time to witness the changing of the guard. The panoramic views from the palace grounds were unforgettable, stretching across the Riviera and the sparkling sea beyond. I also visited the Oceanographic Museum, an architectural gem perched on a cliff, showcasing marine life in stunning detail. The museum’s exhibits and the breathtaking rooftop terrace provided yet another angle of Monaco’s endless beauty. As the evening set in, I found myself at the Larvotto Beach, where the shimmering waters reflected the lights of the city. Monaco’s blend of opulence, history, and natural splendor made it an unforgettable destination, a place where every corner felt like a scene from a glamorous film.
