When heading from Oslo Airport to the city center, it’s tempting to hop on the "Flytoget" airport express train, but hold on a moment! 👀 Actually, you can reach the city using the Vy local trains just as easily 🚆 And the best part? The journey time difference is only about 4 minutes! ⏰ It takes around 23 minutes to get to Oslo S (Oslo Central Station). With frequent departures, it’s super convenient for getting around during your trip, so I highly recommend it 😊 Comparing the round-trip cost per person (rather than a one-way fare for two) 👇 🚄 Flytoget (Airport Express) One way: approx. 268 NOK Round trip: approx. 536 NOK 🚆 Vy (Local Train) One way: approx. 118 NOK Round trip: approx. 236 NOK ✨ You’ll save about 300 NOK (approx. $30 / 5,000 JPY) on a round trip! That’s a huge difference, isn't it? 😳 You can use the money you saved to visit a cafe or enjoy some delicious Nordic gourmet food ☕️🧇 🎫 How to Ride Vy ① Look for the blue ticket machines at the airport 💙 ② Purchase a ticket to Oslo City! There are both ticket machines and staffed counters available. You can also buy tickets through the Vy app 📱 ③ Once you board the train, all that’s left is to head into the city 🚆 Unlike Flytoget, where you can just tap your credit card to ride, Vy generally requires you to purchase a ticket in advance 🎫 The train interiors are bright and spacious, and the seats are very comfortable ◎ It was a smooth ride and even more pleasant than I expected! A crew member came through the car to check tickets 🎫 ⚠️ One thing to watch out for! Make sure you don't head in the wrong direction from the airport! Double-check the destination and the train display before you board 👀 It’s a great way to save money, so if you're planning a trip to Oslo, be sure to save this! ✨ Airport

Witnessing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) at least once in a lifetime is a dream for many. 🥹 Even though it might seem daunting for first-timers, if you prepare well—knowing the best locations, the right timing, and photography techniques—the chance to see that green glow dancing across the night sky is well within your reach! 💚✨ 1. 🗺️ Top Locations to Hunt the Northern Lights in Norway Norway is one of the best places in the world to see the aurora because it sits perfectly within the "Aurora Oval." Here are the top recommended cities for beginners: Tromsø: 🩵 The world’s Northern Lights capital and perfect for newbies. It is highly accessible with nightly tours, full amenities, and easy direct flights from Oslo. Lofoten Islands: 🏔️ Famous for its stunning scenery of fishing villages, jagged mountains, and beaches. Capturing the aurora reflecting off the water against a backdrop of Nordic houses makes for legendary photos. 📸 Alta: 🌟 Known for its frequent clear skies and long history of aurora research. It’s ideal for those who want to escape the crowds. Svalbard: ❄️ The northernmost island where you can sometimes spot the lights at midday during the polar winter. However, beginners should be prepared for extreme Arctic cold! 🥶 2. ⏰ The Golden Time for Aurora Hunting Best Months: 🌙 Plan your trip between late September and late March. This period offers the long, dark nights necessary for the best visibility. Golden Hours: 🕰️ The peak window is usually between 6:00 PM and 2:00 AM, with the highest chance of activity around midnight. ✨ Weather: ☁️ The most important factor is a clear sky—no rain clouds or snowstorms. Always check the Kp Index along with local weather apps. 3. 📷 Camera and Smartphone Settings: How to Take Star-Quality Photos The aurora might look bright to the naked eye, but capturing sharp photos requires a few tricks: Settings for Pro/Mirrorless Cameras: 🎥 · Use a wide-angle lens with a large aperture (like f/1.4 or f/2.8) to let in as much light as possible. · Set your ISO between 1600 - 3200. ⚡ · Adjust Shutter Speed to between 2 - 10 seconds (if the lights are moving fast, use a higher speed to prevent blurring). · Set focus to Manual and aim for infinity (or focus on a bright star). Most importantly, use a tripod 📐 to keep the shot steady. Settings for Smartphones: 📱 · Modern smartphones usually have a "Night Mode" or "Pro/Manual Mode." · In Pro Mode, set ISO to 800 - 3200 and use a long shutter speed of 3 - 10 seconds. ⏱️ · Place the phone on a tripod or a steady surface and use a 2-second timer to prevent camera shake when pressing the shutter. 👍 4. ⚠️ Precautions and Weather Advice Extreme Cold: 🧊 Arctic temperatures can drop to -10°C or -20°C. Standing still for long periods drains body heat quickly. Wear multiple layers (thermals), winter gloves, a beanie, and use body warmers. 🧣🧤 Battery Drain: 🔋 Batteries die very quickly in extreme cold. Bring a power bank and keep your devices in an inner pocket close to your body heat. Travel Safety: 🚗 If you’re driving, watch out for "black ice" and always ensure the car has winter tires. If you aren't experienced with icy roads, booking a day tour with a local guide is safer and often gives you a better chance of finding the lights. 🥰 💡 Pro-Tip: Download an aurora tracking app like "My Aurora Forecast & Alerts" in advance 📲 to check real-time probability. It will help you plan your hunt much more accurately! 🌟💖

Norway is definitely one of the countries that impressed me the most. When it comes to nature and landscapes, I honestly have to give Norway my No.1 spot. ❤️ The scenery here is just breathtaking. Mountains, fjords, small fishing villages, beautiful cities and incredible roads — I feel like Norway really has everything. This trip took us to several very different places, and each one gave us a completely different experience. Lofoten Islands was probably one of the most beautiful places of the whole trip. Every corner looked like a postcard. Small fishing villages surrounded by dramatic mountains and the sea — you can literally stop anywhere and the view is beautiful. And we were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights here! 💚✨ That made Lofoten even more special for us. Alta was actually a place I wasn’t sure about at first. I kept thinking, “Should we really go?” But I’m so glad we did. Alta is known as the City of the Northern Lights, and of course there is the beautiful Northern Lights Cathedral. Ironically, we didn’t get to see the aurora while we were there 😂 but what surprised me the most was Alta Museum and the Rock Art of Alta. I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy it that much, but it turned out to be one of the most memorable places of the trip. The ancient rock carvings here date back thousands of years, and seeing how people communicated and recorded their lives so long ago was absolutely fascinating. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I walked around thinking, “Wow…people actually made these thousands of years ago.” It was amazing. And somehow Alta also gave us so many rainbows. 🌈 I don’t know if we were just lucky, but we saw them again and again, and that became another beautiful memory from this town. Oslo was completely different. Modern, stylish and beautiful, with so many interesting things to see around the city. My favorite was definitely the Oslo Opera House. I loved the architecture and how the building connects with the waterfront. Oslo was one of those cities where I really enjoyed just walking around and looking at everything. Then there was Tromsø. Another beautiful city, but my favorite experience here was definitely our whale-watching trip. 🐋 Even before seeing any wildlife, the boat ride itself was already AMAZING. We were surrounded by mountains almost 360 degrees, and the scenery along the way was unbelievable. We didn’t get to see whales that day, but we DID see orcas! 🖤🤍 One thing I would recommend if you’re planning a trip to Norway is give yourself enough time and keep your itinerary flexible. The weather can change very quickly. Some days can be rainy, cloudy or windy, and sometimes your plans simply won’t work the way you expected. So if possible, add a few extra days and don’t pack your schedule too tightly. #travel #Norway #oslo #tromsø #alta #lofoten

Think luxury travel is strictly for millionaires? Think again. We tested the most talked-about strategies to see if you can actually land a lie-flat seat for zero dollars (or pretty close to it). While "100% free" usually comes with minor taxes or fees, these hacks will drastically drop your costs below standard economy fares. Here are the tested tricks you need to start using: 1️⃣ Search Departure Cities Across Europe & Asia Don't just search major hubs like London, New York, or Singapore. How to use it: Check nearby secondary hubs like Dublin, Madrid, Oslo, or Colombo. Business class fares from these locations are frequently thousands cheaper, easily offsetting the cost of a short positioning flight to get there. 2️⃣ Upgrade, Don't Buy Direct Checking outright business class fares will give you instant sticker shock. How to use it: Look for deals on Premium Economy or standard Economy cash tickets, then check availability to upgrade using credit card points or frequent flyer miles. The combined cash + points total regularly beats booking Business outright. 3️⃣ Search Reward Availability Before Paying Cash If you hold flexible reward points (like Amex, Chase, or airline miles), search for Business Class reward availability first. How to use it: A $4,000+ business class ticket can often be completely replaced by credit card points plus a nominal charge for government taxes and airport fees. 4️⃣ Tap into Negotiated Private Fares Some travel consolidators and specialized agents hold direct contracts with airlines for unsold inventory. How to use it: Before clicking "buy" on the airline's site, check with reputable travel brokers. You get the exact same airline, seat, and service for a heavily discounted rate that never appears on public search engines. 5️⃣ The "Free Upgrade" Schedule Change Loophole (The Secret Hack 🤫) The Hack: Airlines make route or time changes to scheduled flights months in advance. When an airline alters your booked flight schedule by more than 1–2 hours, their contract of carriage allows you to rebook for free onto almost any alternative flight on the same day. How to use it: Book a low-demand, dirt-cheap economy ticket far in advance on a route prone to schedule adjustments. When the airline triggers a major schedule change notification, call customer service or use the rebooking tool. Request to rebook onto a flight operating an aircraft equipped with premium cabins. When paired with low-tier points or upgrade vouchers, this trick unlocks premium seats on prime-time routes at a fraction of the cost. 💬 YOUR TURN! Would you rather save your miles for ONE luxurious Business Class flight, or use them for MULTIPLE Economy trips? I'm genuinely curious! ❤️ Save this post for your next flight booking. ✈️ Follow me for more cheap flight discoveries, smart booking tricks and affordable luxury travel hacks! #BusinessClass #FlightHacks #TravelHacks #CheapFlights #TripMoments #Tripcom #LuxuryTravel #BudgetTravel #AirlineMiles #TravelSmarter

Flying Emirates Business Class from Dubai to Oslo ✈️ It was such a comfortable and special experience that the long-haul journey itself became a highlight of the trip. The first thing that struck me was the spacious seat. With plenty of legroom, it remained incredibly comfortable throughout the long flight—a perfect space for those who want to truly relax on board. The dining experience, which I’d been looking forward to, exceeded my expectations. The presentation was beautiful, and everything from the main course to the dessert was deeply satisfying ◎ With a wide variety of drinks available, the meal service itself is something to look forward to. Thanks to the extensive "ICE" entertainment system, between watching movies, enjoying the food, and catching some sleep, the long-haul flight felt like it was over in a flash. Emirates Business Class is highly recommended for those who: "Want to travel to their destination in the greatest possible comfort." "Have always wanted to experience the business class of a Middle Eastern carrier." It’s also a great option for flying to Europe via a Dubai layover, making the travel time a memorable part of your vacation. 📍Route: Dubai → Oslo ✈️ Emirates 💺 Business Class Flight Report

I took a walk from Oslo Central Station, passing the Opera House and the Munch Museum, along the waterfront all the way to Akershus Fortress. 😊 It’s a great way to soak in the Oslo atmosphere, even if you’re short on time! ♪ Start at Oslo Central Station! 📍 Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) ↓ 🎭 The Opera House (Operahuset) ↓ 🖼️ Munch Museum (MUNCH) ↓ 🧖‍♀️ Waterfront Stroll Take a walk while admiring the floating saunas, seagulls, and massive cruise ships docked at the harbor. ⛴️🌊 ↓ 🏰 Akershus Fortress (Akershus festning) The Opera House is just a short walk from Oslo Central Station. You can actually walk on its roof, so I highly recommend checking that out if you have a moment! ✨ From there, head over to the Munch Museum with its striking, unique design. Then, keep heading west along the seaside promenade toward Akershus Fortress. It feels amazing to just wander along the water here. 😊 With floating saunas and benches scattered along the path, you get to experience a different side of Oslo compared to the busy city center. It took me about an hour at a slow pace, stopping to take photos and enjoy the view. Keep in mind that this time is just for the walk itself. If you want to go inside the Opera House or Akershus Fortress for a tour, you’ll definitely need more time. For the trip back, I called a taxi via Bolt from Akershus Fortress to Oslo Central Station. 🚕 It cost me 100 NOK. 😊 If you still have the energy and time, you can also walk back to the city center from there. 🏰 ✈️ Perfect for Layovers This route is ideal if you have a long layover in Oslo and want to explore the city for a bit! 😊 Just a heads-up: if you plan to go inside the Munch Museum (MUNCH), make sure to add at least another two hours to your schedule. Next time you have a few hours to spare in Oslo, I highly recommend giving this walk a try! ♪

I quickly realized that Oslo doesn’t have to be expensive to be enjoyable. I started at the Oslo Opera House, where I walked across the sloping roof and watched boats moving through the harbor. From there, I followed the waterfront toward Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen, enjoying the architecture, sculptures, and fjord views along the way. My favorite stop was Vigeland Sculpture Park. I spent much longer than expected wandering among the hundreds of sculptures, especially around the bridge and fountain. The park is completely free and open year round. For a quieter afternoon, I walked along Akerselva, where the river, small waterfalls, and greenery made me forget I was still in the middle of the city. I also explored Ekebergparken, walked through Slottsparken beside the Royal Palace, and finished around Karl Johans gate. Oslo’s combination of public art, parks, architecture, and waterfront walks made sightseeing surprisingly easy on the budget. Honestly, some of my best moments in Oslo cost absolutely nothing. #oslo #norway

Fuglen is loved for its cozy, chic atmosphere, exceptional coffee, and traditional Norwegian treats. Having visited their Tokyo locations several times, I finally made it to the Fuglen flagship store in Oslo, a place I’ve always wanted to visit. After a walk through the streets of Oslo, I arrived at a shop filled with the rich aroma of coffee and sophisticated interior design in every corner. It’s incredibly stylish yet completely unpretentious, making it feel surprisingly cozy. Topped with Norway’s famous brown cheese made from goat’s milk, I treated myself to the brown cheese waffle for today’s snack 💛. On top of the rich and savory-sweet brown cheese, there was orange peel with a refreshing, vibrant burst of flavor! The pairing was so perfect it was practically heavenly—a truly blissful morning coffee break ☕️. The Oslo flagship store also has a great selection of merchandise! Be sure to check it out! 📍Fuglen Universitetsgata 2, 0164 Oslo, Norway Note: Brown cheese waffles are available to order from 10:00 AM onwards.

#epictravelmoments Standing in the absolute, weightless silence of the Arctic wilderness outside Tromsø, I felt the cold air hit my lungs like a sharp reset button. Snow crunched softly beneath my boots as I stared up into the deep night sky, my thermos of warm cocoa tucked firmly in my hands. Suddenly, the darkness gave way to a faint, glowing ribbon of emerald green that stretched over the snow-covered peaks. Within seconds, the ribbon burst open, sweeping across the sky in vibrant shades of green and magenta, reflecting perfectly off the calm waters below. I sank back into the soft snowbank and watched in total awe, wrapped in the stillness of nature, watching the solar winds paint a breathtaking masterpiece directly above me. Getting up to Tromsø is surprisingly smooth, with direct flights landing at Tromsø Airport (TOS) via Oslo or other European hubs. While Norway is famous for high prices, you can keep costs down by cooking meals from local supermarkets like Rema 1000 or Extra, staying in self-catering apartments, and using the local public buses (like Bus 420 to Ersfjordbotn) instead of pricey private taxis. If you want to see the sky light up for free, take a short walk to Telegrafbukta beach or head up to Lake Prestvannet right above the city. The best window to catch the Northern Lights runs from September through April, with peak dark skies settling in during the polar night months between November and February. When you are not gazing at the night sky, Tromsø is packed with unforgettable Arctic adventures. You can glide through snow-covered trails on a dog-sledding safari, feed reindeer while learning about Sámi culture, ride the Fjellheisen cable car for panoramic views over the fjord, or hop on an electric fjord cruise to spot wild killer whales. For a cozy local moment, swing by Rocket Man for a quick bite, grab a locally brewed pint at Ølhallen, or walk across the iconic Tromsø Bridge to admire the striking Arctic Cathedral. Watching the dancing colors in total wilderness is a pure reminder of how incredible this world really is. #Tromso #NorthernLights #AuroraBorealis #VisitNorway #ArcticAdventure #ChasingAuroras #TravelInspiration #BucketListTravel #Wanderlust #ExploreTheWorld

This isn't just a café it's a place with history. Fuglen opened in Oslo in 1963 and has since become a symbol of Scandinavian coffee culture. This is where it all began at Universitetsgata 2, before branches appeared in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Seoul. 📍 Where It Is and How to Get There · Address: Universitetsgata 2, 0164 Oslo (entrance from Pilestredet) · Transport: Trams 11, 17, or 18 to the Tullinløkka stop ✨ What Makes This Place Special Coffee praised by The New York Times. Fuglen has been named one of the best coffee spots in the world more than once. They roast their own beans, and the taste has that characteristic fruity acidity of the Scandinavian school that refreshes the palate. Three in one: café, bar, and vintage shop. By day it's a cosy café with pastries; by evening it becomes a cocktail bar. And everything you see inside furniture, lamps, tableware is for sale. It's genuine 1950s–60s Scandinavian design. A "hygge" atmosphere. Vintage furniture, dim lighting, windows overlooking the street you'll want to stay longer. Especially cosy on a damp Oslo day. 💰 Prices and What to Try Average spend 100–200 NOK (around $9–18). · Cinnamon bun (kanelbolle) — a classic you must try · Waffle with brown cheese (brunost) — a very Norwegian combination · Croissant or scone — praised for their flaky texture and balanced sweetness · Coffee to go — if you want to take away a cup with the signature logo 🕐 Opening Hours Hours vary by day of the week: it opens as a café in the morning and turns into a bar in the evening. It's best to check the current schedule on site or on the official website, as hours can change seasonally. ☕ Note: Fuglen is the place to start your acquaintance with Oslo. Even if you're not a coffee fan, the atmosphere and history are worth it. Come in the morning for a bun or in the evening for a cocktail and you'll understand why this café is talked about all over the world. #travel2026

Think Business Class is always £££? Think again. These are the tricks I’d actually use: 1️⃣ Check departure cities across Europe Don’t just search London. Try Dublin, Madrid, Oslo, Stockholm etc. Business fares can be MUCH cheaper, even after adding a cheap positioning flight. 2️⃣ Look for upgrades, not just Business fares Check whether you can buy Premium Economy/Economy and upgrade with points. Sometimes the total cost beats booking Business outright. 3️⃣ Search reward seats BEFORE paying cash If you collect Avios/Virgin Points, check Business reward availability first. A £3,000+ ticket can sometimes be replaced by points + taxes. 4️⃣ Search Business Class sales directly When airlines have a sale, don’t assume Economy is the bargain. Check Business fares with flexible dates — sometimes the price difference is surprisingly small. 5️⃣ Check negotiated/private fares 🤫 Some reputable travel agents have access to fares that don’t appear on the airline’s website. Same airline, same Business cabin — potentially a very different price. 💡 The biggest mistake? Searching one airport, one date and one airline and assuming you’ve found the cheapest fare. Save this before booking your next flight ✈️ #businessclass #businessclassflights #cheapflights #flightdeals #travelhacks #traveltips #avios #aviosctagnts #airlinedeals #cheaptravel #luxurytravel #traveldeals #frequentflyer #flyingtips #tripcom

This itinerary blends the arts, culture, and natural scenery of Gothenburg, Sweden, before heading straight to Oslo, the capital of Norway. It’s the perfect match for those who love capturing aesthetic photos and enjoy slow-paced city exploration! Most attractions are concentrated in downtown Gothenburg, so you can easily walk between major landmarks while soaking in Nordic design and observing the cultural nuances of both nations. Recommended Itinerary: 1. Lilla Bommen (The Gothenburg Opera & "The Lipstick") Just a ten-minute walk from the train station, this area is home to the famous Gothenburg landmark nicknamed "The Lipstick." It’s a perfect fusion of stunning sea views and modern architecture. I recommend visiting in the late afternoon to capture the sunset reflecting off the harbor—it’s incredibly photogenic! There are plenty of cafes nearby where you can enjoy a classic Nordic pour-over coffee. 2. Fish Church (Feskekôrka) About a 15-minute walk from the pier, this building looks like a European castle but is actually a bustling indoor seafood market. You'll find stalls selling all kinds of fresh catches. I highly recommend trying the fresh sashimi or a traditional shrimp sandwich while watching the veteran fishmongers at work—it’s full of local flavor. Keep an eye on the hours, as most stalls are open from noon to evening (12:00-18:00). 3. Skansen Kronan A 15-20 minute walk from the Fish Church. Built in the 17th century and perched on a hill, it offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Gothenburg. It’s less crowded in autumn and winter, but the hilltop can be very cold, so dress warmly! The view is absolutely worth it (entry is free). Sunset is the best time to climb for those beautiful backlit shots. 4. University of Gothenburg Head back down toward the city center to pass by the prestigious University of Gothenburg. With its pastoral campus buildings and relaxed atmosphere, the main building is a must-photo spot. You can really feel the scholarly vibes of Nordic higher education. The area is surrounded by boutique Nordic design shops and trendy cafes, perfect for an hour-long wander. 5. Universeum A fifteen-minute walk from the university, this is the largest science center in the Nordic region. Great for families or science geeks, it features a rainforest house, a 3D space observatory, and interactive labs. It gets crowded on weekends, so try to visit on a weekday. General hours are 10:00-18:00 on weekdays, with potentially longer hours on weekends. 6. Oslo From Gothenburg, you can take a direct train or long-distance bus to Oslo. The trip is very convenient and takes about 3.5 hours. It’s best to book your tickets online in advance. Oslo is a very laid-back city, perfect for walking around, taking photos, and just chilling. The journey is smooth and comfortable. Practical Tips: · Gothenburg's attractions are mostly in the city center; use Google Maps for a seamless walking tour. · Cost of living in Sweden is high; consider a City Pass for discounts on admissions and transport. · Sweden is largely cashless; make sure your credit card is ready. · The Fish Church and Universeum can be packed on holidays; arrive early. · The path to Skansen Kronan is quite steep, so wear comfortable sneakers.

Pop in to admire the beautifully painted ceilings and peaceful interior. It's a great spot for atmospheric photos or a quiet break. Vigeland Sculpture Park (Vigelandsparken) Address: Nobels gate 32, 0268 Oslo Opening Hours: Open 24/7 End your walk at the city’s outdoor masterpiece. Vigeland Park features over 200 dramatic stone and bronze sculptures by Gustav Vigeland, all set within a picturesque green landscape. Highlights include the famous Monolith and the Wheel of Life. It's the perfect spot for creative photography! The park is completely free and best enjoyed in daylight. If you have extra time, relax on the lawns and watch the locals enjoy the day. Practical Tips · Wear comfortable shoes; while the route is mostly flat, it is a long walk—expect to cover about 6-8 km. · Oslo's weather can be unpredictable. Dress in layers and bring a light jacket or umbrella. · Start your day early to avoid the crowds, especially at City Hall and the Sculpture Park. · Most of these attractions offer free admission. · For a quick bite, grab fresh Norwegian pastries or a classic hot dog from street vendors along Karl Johans gate. What’s your favorite must-see in Oslo? Oslo

#adventuretrips Let me start with the verdict: This hiking trail is absolutely stunning! Totally worth the trip! (But you gotta have good fitness, check the weather, and make sure you have enough time - all three are a must!) Where to find Trolltunga: It's in the Hardangertjord area in southern Norway, near the town of Odda. We stayed in Odda and drove from Oslo - took us about 6 hours with our rental car. Getting ready for the hike: 1. Weather is super important! Try to avoid rainy days. I mean, it's a 22km trek, and getting into trouble in heavy rain would be pretty dangerous since there's not much infrastructure along the way. So definitely check Windy right before you head out. 2. You'll need proper gear - hiking boots, a waterproof jacket, and a hat are non-negotiable. Go for that three-layer system. 3. Pack enough food for two meals. We only brought one, and we were starving on the way down, so we just had chocolate. 4. Book your parking spot! If you're driving, you should reserve the P3 parking. (It's 600 NOK on the booking site, and you need to book 2-3 weeks ahead or you won't get a spot). If you don't book P3, you'll have to walk an extra 6km round trip or take a longer bus ride. The buses stop running pretty early in the afternoon, so you won't have much flexibility. The hike details: It's 22km total with a 900-meter climb. Most of the climbing happens between the 3-5km mark, and after that, it's pretty flat. The scenery changes a lot - you'll see waterfalls, fjords, tundra, and even snow. When you get to the end, the cliffs are just breathtaking with clouds rolling around. The hike itself takes about 8 hours, but with photo stops and sightseeing, plan for around 12 hours So try to get to P3 by 8 AM. You'll need to climb down some rocks to get to the photo spots, so be careful. There weren't many people in line when we went, so we only waited a few minutes. Standing on the cliff at the end makes your legs go weak, but the view is absolutely epic. No wonder it's ranked as one of the top 10 day hikes in the world on some lists. #Lake #adventure #hike

Bergen was the kind of city where the weather became part of the experience. I arrived under gray skies, but the rain stopped just long enough for me to enjoy some incredible views. 1. Walk through Bryggen I started at Bryggen, wandering between the colorful wooden buildings and small shops. It felt historic without being overly formal. Nearby, I explored the Fish Market, where I stopped for fresh seafood and a quick lunch. 2. Take the Fløibanen up Mount Fløyen This was easily one of my favorite moments. The ride up Mount Fløyen was short, but the view over Bergen, the harbor, and surrounding mountains was fantastic. I stayed up there longer than planned, just watching the clouds move across the hills. 3. Escape into the fjords I couldn’t visit Bergen without taking a Norway fjord cruise. Seeing the steep mountains rising directly from the water was completely different from anything I had experienced in the city. I also made time for Bergenhus Fortress and a walk around Nordnes. What I loved about Bergen was how quickly the scenery changes. One minute you’re surrounded by historic buildings, and the next you’re looking at mountains and water. If I returned, I’d bring a rain jacket and leave plenty of room for another fjord adventure. #bergen #oslo #norway

Norway looks easy on the map—but the western fjords and Lofoten belong to two very different travel systems. The real decision is not simply “Flåm or Lofoten?” It is whether to complete the southern rail-and-fjord route—or commit enough additional days to Lofoten as a separate northern region. 🧭 WHAT FITS? 5 USABLE DAYS — OSLO + BERGEN 🏙️ 2 full Oslo days 🚆 1 complete Bergen Line transfer day 🌆 2 full Bergen days This is already a complete first Norway route. The Bergen Line is part of the experience, but it is still a hotel-change day—not a free Oslo or Bergen sightseeing day. 🌊 7 USABLE DAYS — ADD THE WESTERN FJORDS 🏙️ Oslo: 2 full days 🚆 Oslo → Myrdal → Flåm: 1 transfer day 🏔️ Western fjords: 1 complete local day ⛴️ Fjord base → Nærøyfjord → Gudvangen → Voss → Bergen: 1 transfer day 🌆 Bergen: 2 full days Protect two nights in either Flåm or Aurland. One night breaks up the journey. Two nights create a real fjord stay with one complete non-transfer day. Important: the Bergen Line does not run through Flåm. Change at Myrdal for the Flåm Railway. Aurland then requires a separate local transfer. ✈️ 12 USABLE DAYS — OSLO + BERGEN + LOFOTEN 🏙️ Oslo: 2 full days 🚆 Bergen Line: 1 day 🌆 Bergen: 2 full days ✈️ Lofoten arrival and positioning: 1 day 🏔️ Lofoten: 5 full days 🧳 Lofoten exit or gateway: 1 day This route does not include a complete Flåm or western-fjord stay. A short flight does not make Lofoten a short add-on. Airport transfers, baggage, car or bus collection and island road time can consume most of the arrival day. 🌊 + 🏔️ 14 USABLE DAYS — WESTERN FJORDS + LOFOTEN This is the stronger route for travellers who genuinely want both regions. It protects: ✅ 2 full Oslo days ✅ 2 western-fjord nights ✅ 1 complete fjord day ✅ 2 full Bergen days ✅ Separate Lofoten arrival and exit days ✅ 5 full Lofoten days Expect four major transfer days and four to five accommodation bases. Day 14 is the Lofoten exit or gateway day—not a protected weather-buffer day. For complex winter travel, weak flight connections, two Lofoten bases or a genuine disruption buffer, allow at least 15 usable days. 🚉 FLÅM OR AURLAND? FLÅM suits travellers prioritising: · Flåm Railway access · Cruise boarding · Minimal transfer friction AURLAND suits travellers prioritising: · Quieter evenings · A stay beyond the main transport hub But Aurland is not on the Flåm Railway. Confirm the local shuttle, bus, taxi or boat connection for the actual travel dates. 🗺️ WHICH LOFOTEN GATEWAY? EVENES Best for eastern Lofoten, Svolvær-first routes and broader rental-car choice. It remains on the mainland. BODØ–MOSKENES FERRY Best for western Lofoten, Reine or Hamnøy first, and west-to-east progression. Recheck the timetable, capacity and current reporting rules. LEKNES A strong central-airport option for balanced island positioning. SVOLVÆR Useful for eastern Lofoten, guided activities and lower-driving routes. Tromsø is a separate Arctic city—not a Lofoten accommodation base. 🚗 CAR OR NO CAR? No-car Lofoten can work when: · One practical base is selected · Accommodation is close to useful transport · Current Route 300 and local timetables are checked · The itinerary does not attempt every famous viewpoint A partial Lofoten rental car remains the strongest mainstream choice for dispersed villages, beaches, luggage and weather-led changes. A full-route Norway rental car is usually unnecessary. 🛏️ ONE OR TWO LOFOTEN BASES? One base is strongest for five to six usable days. · Svolvær: eastern services and guided trips · Leknes: central positioning · Reine or Hamnøy: western scenery Two bases become more useful from seven usable Lofoten days. Keep at least two nights per base and move progressively toward the final exit gateway. ❄️ SEASON CHANGES THE ROUTE Summer usually offers longer daylight and broader transport options—but also higher accommodation and rental-car pressure. Winter needs fewer bases, shorter driving distances and more conservative flight, ferry and road planning. Northern Lights require darkness, clear skies and suitable solar activity. They are never guaranteed. 📌 FINAL RULE The western fjords need a complete fjord day—not only scenery seen between transfers. Lofoten needs at least four full island days outside the arrival and exit days. Choose the route first. Then lock the gateways, accommodation, transport and car as one connected system. Save this before booking Norway. #Norway #NorwayTravel #Oslo #Bergen #Lofoten #Flam #Aurland #Naeroyfjord #NorwayItinerary #NorwayTravelGuide #EuropeTravel #TripPlanning #TravelGuide

Norway is a country especially favored by nature, with its rugged coastline carving out majestic, deep fjords. In winter nights, the northern lights streak freely across the sky, while summer’s midnight sun offers endless golden evenings. Whether you prefer urban culture, mountain hiking, or chasing the polar lights, this place fulfills every Nordic dream. It’s recommended to start your day before 9 AM whenever possible. Norway’s daylight hours vary greatly by season. Early departures help you avoid crowds and give you plenty of time to fully immerse yourself in the natural scenery. Begin your trip in the capital, Oslo. The Oslo Opera House resembles a white iceberg rising from the sea. Visitors can walk up the sloping roof platform to take in both the cityscape and the Oslo fjord. Vigeland Sculpture Park features numerous sculptures that depict the joys and sorrows of human life. The Munch Museum houses the original The Scream, offering an immersive experience of the unique cool and profound Nordic art. Strolling along the harbor before 9 AM, when the city is still quiet and the sea breeze gentle, lets you feel the relaxed morning life of locals. Head west to Bergen, a harbor city surrounded by seven green mountains and an important gateway to the fjord region. The Bryggen wooden houses, a UNESCO World Heritage site, line up in colorful rows. Early mornings see fewer tourists, making every photo a great shot. Take the Fløibanen funicular to the top for panoramic views of the town and fjord. At the street market, you can taste local seafood like smoked salmon and Arctic shrimp. From Bergen, venture out to the world’s longest fjord, the Sognefjord. Ride the Flåm mountain train through forests and waterfalls, then transfer to a fjord cruise as the emerald glacier waters stretch slowly between towering mountains. For polar scenery, travel north to Tromsø, known as the “gateway to the northern lights.” The best time to see the aurora is from October to April. During the day, take the cable car for views of the Arctic Ocean and visit the uniquely designed Arctic Cathedral. At night, head to open areas outside the city to quietly watch the northern lights dance across the sky. If you visit in summer, experience the magical midnight sun, with the sun hanging in the sky all day long. Choosing the right accommodation can double your travel experience. Three hotels with distinct styles suit different needs. The Continental Hotel Oslo is located in the city center, within walking distance to the Royal Palace and major museums. With a history of over 100 years, it retains Art Nouveau decorative details indoors. After sightseeing, you can relax in the hotel’s lounge area. It’s ideal for travelers using Oslo as a transit point to explore the city. The Walaker Hotel along the Sognefjord coast is a family-run establishment passed down through generations. The rustic wooden house stands by the water. Open the window to see the fjord and mountains, with morning mist covering the water, creating a deeply atmospheric scene. The restaurant focuses on fresh local ingredients. Staying here is perfect for slowing down and soaking in the fjord’s tranquility, ideal for travelers wanting an in-depth fjord experience. The Tromsø Harbor Boutique Hotel is close to the harbor, with most rooms featuring sea-view windows. You can walk to various city spots. After a late-night aurora chase, the sauna helps warm you up from the polar chill, making it very welcoming for travelers heading to the Arctic to see the northern lights. Practical travel tips: Norway is part of the Schengen area, so a visa must be obtained in advance. Prices are generally high, so book accommodations and meals early. The weather is unpredictable; even in summer, bring windproof and waterproof jackets. When hiking to Preikestolen or Trolltunga, arrive at the trailhead before 9 AM, bring professional outdoor gear, and never hike alone on remote routes. In winter, entering the Arctic Circle requires thick down jackets and anti-slip snow boots. Card payments are widely accepted, so carry only a small amount of cash for occasional small-town expenses. Norway’s charm is never about rushing through but about quietly listening to the waves, watching the fjord’s morning mist, and waiting for the northern lights to fill the sky. Start early and fully immerse yourself in this northern land to create your own unique Nordic memories.

Among the collections of the Norwegian National Museum, I was delighted to discover several remarkable Chinese cultural treasures, offering a fascinating glimpse into the global journey of Chinese art. One of the highlights is the Ming Dynasty Yongle Blue-and-White Dragon Tianqiuping. Only three examples of this masterpiece are known to survive—one housed in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, one in the Palace Museum, Beijing, and the third here in Oslo. With its powerful dragon motif, graceful globular form, and flawless cobalt-blue decoration, it stands as one of the finest achievements of early Ming imperial porcelain. Another captivating piece is an ancient Chinese carved wooden Bodhisattva head. Though separated from its original sculpture, the serene expression and refined craftsmanship still convey the spiritual elegance and artistic sophistication of traditional Chinese Buddhist art. Encountering these masterpieces so far from China is a reminder that great works of art transcend borders, connecting cultures across continents and centuries. 📍 Location: Norwegian National Museum, Oslo, Norway 🇳🇴 🏺 Highlight: Rare Chinese masterpieces preserved in one of Scandinavia's leading museums ✨ Feature: Ming imperial blue-and-white porcelain, Buddhist sculpture, and cross-cultural museum collections 🍃 Atmosphere: Thought-provoking, elegant, and internationally connected 📸 Best for: Art lovers, museum enthusiasts, Chinese ceramics, and cultural heritage exploration 💡 Travel Tip: Don't miss the museum's Asian collections—hidden among the Nordic masterpieces are extraordinary works that reflect centuries of cultural exchange between East and West. ✨ Signature feeling: Seeing Chinese treasures in the heart of Norway is a quiet reminder that art knows no borders, carrying stories of craftsmanship, faith, and civilisation across the world. 🏺✨

Copenhagen serves as the capital, the largest city, and the principal port of the Kingdom of Denmark. As the nation's political, economic, cultural, and transportation hub, it stands out as a world-renowned international metropolis. Recognized by the United Nations as the "most livable city globally," Copenhagen also proudly ranks among the happiest cities in the world. Transportation 🚌 Buses: Download the FlixBus or Omio app. There are daily direct buses from Oslo, the capital of Norway 🇳🇴, to Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰. The route passes through the Swedish 🇸🇪 cities of Gothenburg, Helsingborg, and Malmö. From Malmö, you'll cross a spectacular cross-sea bridge to reach Denmark. The bus usually crosses the bridge right at sunset, offering absolutely breathtaking views. Since the cost of living in the Nordic region is notoriously high, a one-way bus ticket 🎫 costs €37.90 💶, so it's highly recommended to keep an eye on prices and book in advance. 🚌 Buses & Carpooling: You can use FlixBus or the European carpooling app BlaBlaCar to travel directly from Copenhagen 🇩🇰 to Hamburg, Germany 🇩🇪. Living costs in both Denmark and Germany are steep, which makes FlixBus tickets 🎫 on this route quite pricey—about €45 💶 for a one-way trip. However, I managed to book a ride with a driver via BlaBlaCar for just £25 💷. Whether you opt for a bus or a carpool, booking early is definitely the way to go. 🚌 City Public Transit: Download the DOT Tickets app and grab a day pass. The ticket 🎫 costs 90 DKK. Norway had been on my bucket list for years, and somehow it still exceeded every expectation. I started in Oslo, where modern architecture blends effortlessly with nature. Walking along the waterfront was the perfect introduction before heading deeper into the country. The real magic began in Flåm. The train ride through mountains, waterfalls, and tiny villages felt like watching a movie through the window. From there, I joined a cruise through Nærøyfjord, and the scenery was even more spectacular in person. Towering cliffs, peaceful water, and waterfalls around every corner made it one of the most memorable experiences of my trip. Further north, Bergen quickly became one of my favorite cities. I loved wandering around Bryggen’s colorful wooden houses before taking the Fløibanen funicular for panoramic views over the harbor. Another unforgettable stop was Trolltunga. The hike was challenging, but standing on that famous rock overlooking the fjord was worth every step. Before leaving, I spent a night in Tromsø, hoping to see the Northern Lights. Watching the sky suddenly glow with dancing green ribbons was something I’ll never forget. Norway isn’t the cheapest destination, but every view, every drive, and every quiet moment in nature made it feel absolutely worth it. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after the journey ends. #norway #norwaytravel

Norway is amazing, but I won’t go back✨ heartfelt reflections from a trip hidden in the aurora fjords Norway is definitely the most breathtaking natural landscape I’ve ever seen. Snow-capped mountains, deep blue fjords, the northern lights, and red fishing villages create a unique Nordic fairyland. After traveling the loop for more than ten days, I know one trip is enough for a lifetime. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just too special😭 First, its irreplaceable healing romance The entire country is sculpted by glaciers and the sea. The United Nations World Heritage fjords layer upon layer, emerald lakes reflecting endless snowy mountains, boats cruising through the mountains, mist drifting over waterfalls—every scene is wallpaper-worthy. The Lofoten Islands’ red fishing cabins scattered by the sea, white sandy beaches paired with sharp peaks, morning mist floating over the sea, so quiet you can only hear the waves—pure healing. In winter, heading to Tromsø, the northern lights ripple and flow across the night sky, green glows covering the sea. Seeing it with my own eyes brought tears to my eyes. It’s the ultimate romance etched in my heart. Summer’s midnight sun is even more special. At 2 AM, it’s still a soft golden dusk. No need to rush for sunset—you can catch gentle light anytime. The cities are clean and tidy, locals are kind and polite, and outdoor activities are abundant. Hiking, boat tours, glacier trekking—all offer unforgettable experiences. The whole trip had no unpleasant moments. The environment, safety, and scenery were flawless. The only reason I won’t revisit is the realistic fit for an average traveler. Sharing honestly without complaints: ▫️ The itinerary covers a huge area, and traveling consumes too much energy Attractions are very spread out. Oslo, Bergen, Lofoten, and Tromsø are thousands of kilometers apart. You either drive long mountain roads or take planes plus ferries with multiple transfers. Half the day is spent on the road, and long travel times are exhausting. Mountain roads are narrow and winding, so driving requires constant focus. Those who dislike long trips will find the itinerary tiring. ▫️ Prices are high, putting pressure on the travel budget Norway is one of the world’s most expensive places. Even simple meals, bottled water, and coffee cost more. Short taxi rides can easily cost hundreds of yuan. During peak season, fjord town guesthouses and hotels have heavy markups. Popular accommodations must be booked 3–6 months in advance. Last-minute trips often find no available rooms. Budget-friendly leisure travel is not very suitable. ▫️ Weather is unpredictable, limiting travel flexibility The climate is unstable year-round. Fjords often have rain and strong winds. Even in summer, you need windproof and waterproof jackets. Winter has extreme polar day and night. Daylight is very short in winter, greatly reducing outdoor activity time. Cloudy days mean no northern lights, so the itinerary has little room for error. ▫️ Atmosphere is cool and quiet, lacking lively street life The beauty here is grand, peaceful, and natural. Cities and towns are slow and quiet, with few bustling streets or local food markets. It’s mostly wilderness, lakes, and snowy mountains. Travelers who prefer lively city strolls and shopping may find it too quiet after a while. ▫️ Scenic variety is limited, freshness fades after the first visit The main highlights are fjords, snowy mountains, northern lights, and coastal fishing villages. The first time is stunning, but the overall scenery is quite similar. A second visit rarely surprises. It’s better suited for a deep, one-time experience rather than repeated trips. I’m glad I gathered the courage to visit Norway once I’ve seen the midnight sun, chased the dancing northern lights, cruised through layered fjords, and quietly watched the sunset by red fishing cabins. This pure, vast natural beauty is enough to treasure for a lifetime. Here’s a beginner-friendly Norway essentials guide. Budget advice: start at about 18,000–25,000 yuan per person. Buying simple meals at supermarkets saves a lot on food. 3. Mountain roads are winding, so prepare anti-slip gear. ✔️ Solo travelers: rely on buses, cruises, and public transport, but flexibility is reduced. ⚠️Important pitfalls to avoid 1. Prices are high! Bottled water and fast food are expensive. Don’t spend carelessly without preparation. 2. Weather is changeable! Even in summer, bring windproof and waterproof jackets. Mountain areas can have sudden wind and rain. 3. Don’t rely solely on weather forecasts for aurora chasing. Choose areas away from city light pollution. Book aurora tours in advance. 4. Fjord cruises and scenic trains are busy in peak season. Book at least 1 month ahead. 5. Don’t hike off marked trails. There is no signal in the wilderness, and getting lost is a high risk. 6. Tipping is not mandatory. Tip voluntarily for good service. Norway is less crowded than Switzerland, with more pristine and grand natural scenery. If you want green mountains, clear waters, and the midnight sun, choose June–August. If you want to meet the magical aurora, pick September–March. Rather than rushing through, it’s better to slow down and quietly experience the fjords’ unique tranquility and awe.😍

Who gets it? Norway's fjords are God's private blue-green gems, and the Northern Lights are like green ribbons dancing in the night sky. But how you experience Haaland's hometown really differs for the wealthy and the average person! Some wait for the lights in a Northern Lights glass igloo, while others chase them wrapped in blankets at a campsite and still fulfill their dream. Today, I'll break down both ways to play, so you can go no matter your budget! ✨ How the wealthy experience Norway (average US$3,000+) 📍 Oslo (capital of Haaland's hometown): Head straight to Vigeland Sculpture Park, get a private guide to tell the story of each sculpture, and lock in your photo spot in front of the central Monolith! The soft light at 4 PM hits the sculptures, making them look incredibly sophisticated. In the evening, enjoy a Michelin dinner on the top floor of the Oslo Opera House, savoring tender salmon while gazing at the fjord's night view. 📍 Bergen: Take a private helicopter to overlook Sognefjord! The blue-green fjord beneath the wings looks like a ribbon floating through the mountains, 10 times more stunning than a cable car. Stay in a luxury hotel on the mountaintop, where you can open your window to the forests and fjords of Mount Fløyen. 📍 Tromsø: Stay in a Northern Lights glass igloo! You can wait for the Northern Lights to streak across the sky from your bed, and even book a VIP dog sledding tour (with hot drinks served throughout). Book out the Arctic Cathedral for Northern Lights silhouette photos, and your shots will be divine. Itinerary: 5 days, 4 nights (Oslo 1 day → Bergen 2 days → Tromsø 2 days) Budget breakdown: Flights US$1,000+ (direct business class), accommodation US$1,200 (glass igloo + luxury hotel), activities US$800 (helicopter + private booking) Outfit: Cashmere coat + leather boots + cashmere scarf, looks expensive and isn't bulky for photos Essentials: High-end mirrorless camera (for Northern Lights details), heated underwear (stays warm even when chasing lights at night) Tip: Book private activities 1 month in advance! During peak season (December–February), Northern Lights glass igloos sell out instantly. ✨ Budget-friendly Norway guide for average people (average US$1,200+) 📍 Oslo: Free attractions are amazing! Take vintage-style photos at Oslo City Hall (Nobel Peace Prize ceremony venue), and climb the walls of Akershus Fortress for panoramic harbor views. For food, choose a street salmon sandwich, which costs around NOK 100+. 📍 Bergen: Take the NOK 100+ cable car up Mount Fløyen, and stand on the upper deck for panoramic fjord photos! Take photos of the Bryggen wooden houses in the early morning when there are no crowds; the colorful houses with cobblestone streets guarantee great shots. Buy fresh salmon sashimi at the fish market, it's half the price of restaurants. 📍 Tromsø: Stay in a hostel dorm (NOK 200+/night), and join an affordable Northern Lights tour (NOK 1,000+/person, includes hot drinks and a guide). Wait for the Northern Lights in the square outside the Arctic Cathedral; take photos of the church and Northern Lights together when no one is around at night, the effect is just as good as a private booking. Itinerary: 7 days, 6 nights (Oslo 2 days → Bergen 2 days → Tromsø 3 days) Budget breakdown: Flights US$600 (connecting economy class), accommodation US$200 (hostel + budget hotel), activities US$300 (cable car + Northern Lights tour) Outfit: Windbreaker + fleece-lined pants + snow boots, windproof and warm, and looks good in photos Essentials: Heat patches (apply all over your body), phone tripod (for Northern Lights time-lapse) Tip: Choose Northern Lights tours in Tromsø with a rating of 4.8 or higher to avoid freezing in an old vehicle. Best travel time: September–March for Northern Lights (December–February has the highest probability), June–August for fjords (long daylight hours suitable for hiking) Food recommendations: Wealthy people go for Michelin slow-cooked salmon, average people eat grilled salmon skewers from the fish market. Avoid these pitfalls: Norway is super expensive! Exchange Norwegian Krone in advance (card payments are convenient, but small shops might only accept cash); visas are difficult to get (developed country, sufficient asset proof required, apply 1 month in advance); check the weather forecast for Northern Lights, don't go for nothing on cloudy days. Whether you're splurging or on a budget, Haaland's hometown's Northern Lights and fjords won't disappoint. Choose the right way to play, and you can tuck a Nordic fairy tale into your pocket!
