Kiyau Campsite offers a range of accommodation options, including chalets, tents, and domes, providing flexibility for different camping styles. Both Kampung Sting and the scenic Bengoh Dam are located along the same route, making it convenient for visitors who want to explore both areas. Most visitors opt for a 2-day, 1-night stay to fully experience the stunning landscape. We arrived at the parking lot at the base of village , where we waited for the 4 wheel drive transfer. For those unfamiliar with the route, taking a transfer is recommended, as the narrow mountain roads are steep and winding, which can be challenging for regular vehicles.

While Kuching may be familiar to Malaysians, it is relatively unknown in mainland China. I found very few online discussions about Kuching, and almost no one from mainland China visits. During my five-day stay, I noticed that most tourists were from Europe, America, and Taiwan, with very few from mainland China. However, I highly recommend this city for two reasons: the people are warm and friendly, and there is an abundance of delicious food at very affordable prices, likely among the lowest in Malaysia.

The race starts from Kampung Danu and ends at Kampung Git, with participants paddling their homemade bamboo rafts through the winding rivers. The journey is filled with thrilling rapids, serene stretches of water, and breathtaking views of lush tropical forests. The event is a lively celebration, drawing in crowds to cheer on the teams. It’s a perfect blend of adventure and community spirit, and we always enjoy the festive atmosphere surrounding it!
