Standing by Milk Lake, with snow-capped mountains reflected on the glass-like water surface, even breathing feels sacred. We entered the scenic area right at opening time when crowds were thin, allowing us to capture perfect shots of people-free landscapes. Originally planning just the short route (and with the long route closed until our visit day), we were surprised when the long route opened on our visit day! With no altitude sickness symptoms, we spontaneously decided to complete the most spectacular routes to Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake. Staying at the "Songtsam Yading Lodge" inside the park saved us 40+ minutes of travel time compared to regular visitors. From the hotel entrance, we took a village shuttle bus for about 15 minutes to Zhaguanbeng to begin our hiking adventure.
