Located in the Danube Canal area at the northernmost end of Vienna, it can be reached from the Spittelau subway station. The original traditional gray exterior wall was given a bright and lively childlike image after Mr. Hundertwasser's renovation. Probably no one would have thought that this bright and peculiar building was actually an incinerator! The colorful exterior, the golden ball control tower on the chimney, the green roof and the planted trees coexist harmoniously with nature, demonstrating the concept of environmental symbiosis and overturning the stereotype of incinerators. After the transformation, it has become a famous tourist attraction, which is very suitable for checking in and taking photos. One third of Vienna's garbage is processed through the Spittelau incinerator, and the heat energy generated by the incineration is supplied to nearby residents and schools. When we checked into our apartment in Vienna, the staff recommended a local restaurant, Das Kolin, which is located in the neighborhood, at the intersection of Kolingasse and Wassagasse. The Kolin sign is quite prominent, making it easy to find. The restaurant offers authentic Austrian cuisine, primarily pork-based dishes, with a touch of Italian influence, making it quite delicious. The three of us ordered shrimp tomato pasta, beetroot risotto, and grilled chicken salad, all of which were generously portioned. The pasta and risotto had a slight firmness, giving them a nice texture, and the seasoning was very harmonious, quite suitable for Asian tastes, and very tasty. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the service is friendly, living up to the local recommendation. The prices are also reasonable. If you're tired of Austrian schnitzel, Das Kolin's pasta, risotto, and vegetarian options are a great choice that won't disappoint. #celebrateit Nice cafe for brunch in Vienna. You can seat inside our outside on a terrace, both places are very nice and cozy. The interior inside is in green colors and has many newspapers to read and a billiards table to play if you wish 😃 The cuisine was very delicious, risotto is highly recommended to try. If you prefer sitting on the terrace near in mind that smoking there is not prohibited in Vienna.

An amazing historical museum in Vienna, perfect option for celebration for those who are interested in the art. The museum is rather big and has many different rooms, exploring them is just a pleasure, one time visit will not be enough for full penetration. Visit Vienna's Naschmarkt, which is known for its fresh fruits and vegetables, dried goods, and Middle Eastern food. Although it's an outdoor market, it's quite clean and bright. As we wandered around and got hungry, we decided to grab a bite at the Middle Eastern restaurant 'NENI am Naschmarkt' for a market brunch. Middle Eastern food is quite novel. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were seated outdoors, but thankfully there were umbrellas to provide shade. The Jerusalem plate is a very Middle Eastern dish, with ingredients like yogurt, tomatoes, hummus, chicken, and sesame leaves, all wrapped in flatbread. It's like a Middle Eastern burger! NENI am Naschmarkt prides itself on healthy and natural food, offering many vegetarian and light dishes. We ordered the purple rice quinoa, paired with grilled asparagus and beef tomatoes, which was very healthy, delicious, and refreshing. Enjoying Middle Eastern cuisine in the open-air seating of Vienna's market is definitely a unique experience. Overall, it was delicious.

The most famous flea market in Vienna is the one next to the Naschmarkt. It is open only every Saturday. For those who love treasure hunting, looking for vintage items, or simply want to experience the local market atmosphere, this is definitely a place worth visiting. The market is lined with stalls selling a wide variety of items, from antique silver and fine porcelain from the 19th century to old photos from World War II, vinyl records, old clocks, and even some unique Viennese statuettes. The flea market is located next to Vienna's most representative Naschmarkt, which is another feast for the senses, selling exotic spices, fresh fruits and vegetables, and local snacks. If you are tired of shopping, you may want to find a restaurant or cafe in the market, sit down, order some authentic food, and leisurely enjoy this time-staggered market experience. After visiting the Belvedere Palace (Schloss Belvedere) and on the way back to the hotel, I stumbled upon this delightful restaurant 'Restaurant Sperl' in the alleys of Karolinengasse. The facade may seem small, but inside, it opens up to a hidden courtyard garden. The indoor seating is elegantly and tastefully decorated. I simply ordered a Wiener Schnitzel with beer. Vienna is truly a city full of charm and artistic atmosphere, with postcard-like natural scenery and rich cultural and artistic buildings. The food is also delicious, making it a perfect destination to visit in any season.

The Austrian National Library in Vienna is said to be the model for the library in Beauty and the Beast. It is located in a corner of the Hofburg Palace, making it easily accessible. However, you cannot touch or borrow the books. You can only enjoy the beautiful building. Due to its popularity on Instagram, there is a long line shortly after opening hours. The interior is not very large, so it is recommended to visit early at the opening. There is an admission fee, but the satisfaction level is high. It was our last day in Vienna. With only 2 hours left, we decided to check out the city’s most quirky and most photographed apartment, namely Hundertwasserhaus (Hundertwasser House). This house was built in 1985 and designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, a renowned architect and artist known for “rejecting straight lines” and embracing a mosaic of shapes and colors. The building was Hundertwasser’s first architectural work. It belongs to the city of Vienna (who then rents out the apartments to individuals). As a result, I feel a bit sorry for the real people living there as so many tourists come to “check out” on them every day. Conclusion: This is no ordinary house and it looks way more massive than the photos online. It gets me thinking how does it feel if this is my rental accommodation. Nonetheless, it is amazing to appreciate this expressionist architecture in-person and leave a good memory before leaving the beautiful city of Wien! #viennacity #architecture #artisticexpression
