The Folk Performing Arts Museum opened in 1992 as a branch of the Akita Municipal Red Brick Local Museum to preserve and pass on local folk events and performing arts, including Kanto, and is affectionately known as the "Neburi Nagashi Museum." The former Kaneko residence is a traditional building that retains the characteristics of a townhouse from the late Edo period, and consists of a main house and a storehouse.
