The images of the protagonist Popeye, his girlfriend Olive, and the villain Bluto are still vivid in my memory. Whenever Popeye needed energy, he would open a can of spinach, eat it heartily, and then puff on his pipe. 🛟 Watching Popeye as a child also changed my perception of 'spinach', making me believe that eating more spinach could give me magical strength like Popeye's~ ⚓️ I never imagined that the colorful seaside cabin where the character Popeye (Popeye) lives actually exists. I was recommended by my friend. She was telling me how beautiful Malta was and here we go! I spent 4days and 3 nights in Malta. Aside from all the tourists spots, I would recommend you to visit Popeyes village. This is not somewhere that will be recommended to tourist, kinda like hidden spot. The village was built in 1980 for film and it became the major tourist attractions in Malta. Trust me! It is definitely worth to visit. The sea view and houses around were just amazing, especially during the evening. From Valletta, you can take 222 bus to Mellieha Bay, change to 237 bus to reach the village. There are many “taking picture” spots that you can explore around. Popeye Village 📍Triq Tal-Prajjet, Il-Mellieħa, Malta In Malta, I was exploring around their local food. I would definitely recommend you to try Caviar& Bull. The caviar tasted so good! Aside from Caviar, we ordered Beef Rib eyes and spaghetti as our main. The beef rib eyes was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but the spaghetti sauce was a lil to sour for us. We also ordered baked pumpkin. It doesn’t taste like normal pumpkin that we usually had. But we find it very interesting. As a coconut lover, I ordered one of the cocktail from the drinks menu. It was kinda like pineapple 🍍 + coconut 🥥. It tastes so so good and it was served with a layer of shredded coconut on top. P/s: The bread that they served before meal was so delicious and we even ordered extra portion! Haha 😆 So check it out! On a recent visit to Malta, I went to Golden Bay for the incredible sunsets. Located in the north of the main island, it offers stunning views over the Mediterranean towards Italy. The beach itself is beautiful and has vendors offering jet skiing, yachting, and paragliding for the adventurous among us! Valletta, Mdina, and the Three Cities were highlights — so much rich history packed into small, walkable areas. The architecture is gorgeous, and everywhere you go feels like stepping into the past. The beaches and the Blue Lagoon were breathtaking, with crystal-clear water ideal for swimming and snorkeling. We also took a day trip to Gozo, which felt quieter and even more relaxed than the main island — well worth the ferry ride. Food was another major highlight: fresh seafood, pastizzi, rabbit stew, and excellent Mediterranean flavors. The people were welcoming and helpful, and English is widely spoken, making it easy to get around. Overall, Malta is a perfect destination if you’re looking for a mix of culture, history, nature, and relaxation.
