Nature’s Way of Roasting Your Legs
#summervacay Took on Gariwangsan thinking, “Hey, how bad can it be?” Answer: pretty bad… but in the best way. This mountain does not mess around. Long trail, steady climbs, and enough switchbacks to make you question your life choices about halfway up.
That said, it’s also absolutely gorgeous. The forest feels endless, super dense, super green, and just quiet in that peaceful, kinda eerie way. Perfect if you’re trying to escape the world for a bit (or avoid replying to texts).
Once you get near the peak, the views open up and suddenly you're on top of this massive sea of mountains. Felt like I was in a wallpaper. There's also this huge flat area near the summit that’s perfect for collapsing, eating all your snacks, and rethinking your decisions.
It’s a long hike, so go early, bring all the water, and maybe stretch a little first. Gariwangsan makes you work for it, but wow, it totally pays off.
