Looking at the Woldae made of stone, you could see that it was intricately crafted. It was so amazing that such intricate work was possible in a time when technology was not as advanced as it is now. I was completely captivated by the charm of the Woldae.

#Southeast Asia Flight Ticket Event This is Geunjeongjeon located in Jongno-gu, Seoul! The current building was rebuilt in 1867. It was built in 1395 (the 4th year of King Taejo’s reign) when Gyeongbokgung Palace was founded, but it was rebuilt 270 years after it burned down during the Imjin War. It is said that during the reconstruction, instead of restoring the original building from the reign of King Taejo, there were changes such as changing the corridors from single corridors to double corridors and creating a new Woldae (stepstone in front of the palace).

#Southeast Asia Flight Ticket Event This is the palace called Geunjeongjeon! It is located close to the entrance of Gyeongbokgung Palace, so it was the first place I visited. You can go up here to see it, so I went up, and on the way up, I saw stone art pieces. I heard that they were put up to represent the king's dignity or a guardian deity, and the artistic sense was alive.

#Southeast Asia Flight Ticket Event I went to see the interior of Geunjeongjeon, but it felt surprisingly empty. Except for the seat where the king sits, most of it was just an empty space, and it was strange because there was nothing except for the lights here and there. Should I say that the simple interior was a surprise? However, I liked that I could see the tools used when working here and there, and I could imagine the work environment.

#Southeast Asia Flight Ticket Event This is Geunjeongjeon, an annex building inside Gyeongbokgung Palace. You can see the inside of Geunjeongjeon up close, and it was so pretty because Korean traditional patterns were revealed from the ceiling to the walls. The traditional patterns that filled the wide ceiling felt beautiful. It was also nice that there was a place in the middle where the king sat and worked!
