Natural scenery
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, located at the junction of Tennessee and North Carolina, has about 10 million tourists every year and is the most visited national park in the United States. In 1983, UNESCO listed the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as a natural heritage and included it in the World Heritage List. The park covers an area of 200,000 hectares, and since it has not been destroyed by humans, it provides a relatively favorable environment for plants to grow. It is home to 3,500 species of plants and many endangered animals, especially where the world's largest group of salamanders is found. It is not only rich in natural heritage, but also has a long cultural history. Here you can learn about the way of life of early peasant families and communities living in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Many historic buildings still stand, and 97 historic buildings are concentrated in 5 areas, including: lumberjack sheds, barns, churches, rice mills and various other outdoor structures. However, these ancestors changed from difficult survival to predatory development. The logging industry almost destroyed the original forest in this area, and restoration has become the theme of today. Parks provide unique resources for outdoor recreation. You can stroll through the greenery and hike in the backcountry. Camping, fishing, outings, horseback riding, or just beautiful scenery are all great ways to relax. Four seasons are good seasons for traveling here. The mountains are blooming in spring, camping by the cool stream in summer, the leaves flying in autumn, and the quiet and pleasant in winter. The blue sky is always a very good reason for sightseeing.
